mrvitalis: Our subsidy according to IMF n cbn only cost 5.6 trillion there see over 35 trillion to account for This guy. The article you referenced explains it all, doesn't it? According to the same article: 1. The borrowing is to finance the budget deficit 2. Naira fluctuations have increased the naira value of these loans Is that why you sent a screenshot before? Thinking I'm like all these lazy children who will follow you to debate headlines without reading the substance? Not me buddy! mrvitalis: Firstly I said almost borrowed and Buhari meet about 30 trillion naira debt or so can quite remember the figure
But the fact is if Tinubu borrowed 41 trillion in just one year does he has a moral right to critic Buhari borrowing habits
More important is as a Tinubu supporter what can you use to justify this loan of 41 trillion Why should I justify anything? We are actually talking about whether Nigeria can afford subsidies or not - a chronic debtor obviously can't! |

mrvitalis: Buhari left our debt at 80 trillion Tinubu has taken it to 121 trillion in one year
https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.vanguardngr.com/2023/05/buharis-huge-parting-debt-profile/amp/ Just on the face of what you've provided here, how does what you said earlier make sense to you? Buhari left the debt profile at 80 trillion. Under Tinubu it increased to 121. That is an increase of 41 trillion - almost exactly half of what was borrowed under Buhari (of which the increase in dollar cost is a major factor). So, clearly, no, Tinubu has not borrowed in one year what Buhari borrowed in 8. That was clear nonsense. Further more, you don't even understand what you are reading as the nation's debt profile is the sum of total debt at all levels of government, including the States. So, again, no, Tinubu did not even borrow the entire 41 trillion increment you are referencing. Try to understand these figures before you bandy them about. |

I think government should step in and put in place legislation that will protect these girls from their wicked madams
It is always madam doing this evil, their husbands don't even have time for such thing This does not require any special legislation. And really I don't see the evil the "big woman" has done. It's a straightforward case of accusation of theft and the law has ample processes to deal with this. The "big woman" is within her rights to accuse her. The help is also entitled to a defense and the major issue I see here is that her lawyer has failed her. |

vanbonattel: Lagos fire service are the slowest fire response team in the world, they couldn't do anything to stop the fire, just spent a lot of time spraying water on the flowers of the church building and in the end, the fire ran out when it got to the end of that line.
I wonder why they wasted time and damaged the building on the southern side to puncture and unneeded hole into the walls.
The church should just check if their money is missing. This is not fire fighting. When fighting a fire of that intensity, you use containment strategies not direct ones which are much less efrective. From what you described they did the right thing. |

You can never satisfy greed, ingrates and instantaneous gratification that only exists in their "paradise abroad". Lol what kind of talk is this? How does it concern the hospital who pays the bills? A bill is a bill and it has to get paid - there is no gratitude to be owed for paying of bills, rather, the patients are the ones to express gratitude to the boy. Now, why was this statement necessary? Because news has gone around that all the bills were paid. So when some patients are now asked to pay their bills, won't it become a perceived case of fraud? Repeat after me: "I will always engage my brain before I speak in public." Oya! |

First, there is the Devil calling himself a pastor who disturbs the WHOLE neighbourhood with loudspeakers.
You will not understand the FRUSTRATION of the neighbour if you've not had speakers BLARING into your room at 1 AM on a Wednesday morning because of vigil.
The screaming and stomping of the members would make you think thoughts that'll make you question whether you are really the devil.
How Christianity went from Jesus condemning Pharisees who pray in public to IRRITATING loudspeakers is still a mystery.
THEN, there is the USELESS new recruit flexing his NONEXISTENT muscles on civilians. If the recruits come face to face with bandits and terrorists now, they'd devolve into COWARDS and CRYBABIES.
But that's the ONLY thing the Nigerian Military can ever get right—intimidating and assaulting UNARMED civilians. When it comes to real THREATS, they are useless.
In fact Nigerian soldiers are so USELESS, it took TEN of them to assault just ONE DEFENCELESS man and TWO women.
YET the man and his wife are still standing GIDIGBA!
Very WEAK pussies. Common sense ought to tell you not to judge matters from a report that is obviously written to favour one side. Do you have common sense sir? |

Arthur Unaegbe a Senior military officer of Igbo extraction stood against the coupists when others fled. He refused access to the armory and was killed because of that. But they will tell you no Igbo man was killed in the coup and that the coup was an Igbo affair... A coup that has actors like lt. Olofimihan, col ademoyega, col banjo, and many more from north, west, east and midwest The coup itself was a nationalistic affair. However, within the inner circle of those who planned the coup there were those who had their own agendas. Ifeajuna, for his failure to eliminate the senior officers in Lagos, was the major reason that coup failed. All evidence suggests he had been in contact with Major General Ironsi, instead of eliminating him as planned. Ironsi's survival (and Ojukwu's refusal to act in support of Nzeogwu), meant the end of the coup. |

A man, rich by Nigerian standards, who could afford all the basic amenities and most luxuries, left Nigeria (ostensibly because there is no security) only to go and be the security abroad. Politics › Re: Stop Lying About Nigerian Gas, We Owe Them $300 Million - Ghanians To Govt by SmartyPants(m): 11:09am On Jun 18, 2024 |
Whalis: Good some persons do not understand. Most of the turbine we use in Nigeria to generate electricity are gas driven. In this case they are called gas turbine. If gas supply is not adequate it will not produce electricity optimally. It will lead to rationing. And most times those who produce gas in Nigeria prioritize international markets that will yield them dollars. So even when we do not have sufficient supplies in Nigeria they would prefer selling to other countries Ghana inclusive. Now they no longer supply to Ghana they would have no options than to revert it for local use. This means that there will be sufficient supplies for local use including our power generation gas turbine
If you read with an open mind you will understand me. Thanks. Engineer thank you sir, though I don't know why you think one needs an engineering degree to understand that Nigeria uses gas to power its turbines. This is common knowledge. But you are skating around the kernel of the discussion: When, where and which power plant in Nigeria has had to cut production due to a gas shortage? You should have some facts to back your hypothesis... a mere explanation that power plants use gas does not answer the question. You have said Nigeria's internal gas supply has been inadequate - where's your source? |
