@dyt; good to hear a honest confession. but it,s not fair sha, why did u confuse the brother now. u know men think in a straight line like: if she really digs me - why is she getting mad at me all the time - i better give her some space. we would prefer a lady who fancies us to just approach us casually and initiate a conversation like for example "i,m just curious, who are you closer to? your mum or your dad? why? bla, bla, bla. most men would take a cue from there.
are u one of those ladies who think it,s boring when there,s no conflict? believe me conflicts are only interesting at the initial stages, when U start paying bills, feeding kids, and building a career, u would be praying for quiet time.

@deols; yes ma, will stop playing the shrink then #smiling mischievously

ma salaam.

barka Jum'uah
a written document is preserved as physical evidence, open to scrutiny etc, spoken words can only be preserved by memory. speech may also be able to convey emotions that would be difficult with text.

question: were there no such things as Surah and ayah in Arabic literature prior to the Quran's revelation?
IslamRe: The Amazing Quran- Season 1 by snubish: 1:14pm On Jun 28, 2012
what is this unique order, or is it beyond human comprehension?

ayah, i think are different from regular verses by the volume of meaning that may underlie just a single one?
IslamRe: Muslim Singles, Let Us Have A Talk by snubish: 12:50pm On Jun 28, 2012
@mac, kindly pardon my being presumptuous, no harm meant really.

to answer your question; i,ve not experienced dat kinda scenario before. looks more like a book/media kinda tin. but were it to happen in life, it may be like cos opposites attract(u,re fascinated wit what u don,t have or are not familiar with), then after the initial attraction, they start having these intense conflicts frequently cos they were opposites to start wit. from there, they can move ahead by resolving, or they just each go their way with mutual resentment.

@deols, u need to calm down, like seriously. u,re d bomb, but quit blowing ur top online. and i,m yet to meet a really intelligent woman that is beautiful, those gifts just don,t seem to go together but there are always exceptions.
IslamRe: The Amazing Quran- Season 1 by snubish: 9:36pm On Jun 27, 2012
correct, it's effect is lost on most Muslims. reasons may include:

majority of us not being Arab, and consequently non-native Arabic speakers.

general ignorance about the explicit effects of the arabic language on the Quran.(it's powerful enough in any language though)

no time/resources to study arabic.
IslamRe: Muslim Singles, Let Us Have A Talk by snubish: 9:13pm On Jun 27, 2012
mac, se i told u u operate on a different frequency? how many people do u think will be able to follow dis your post? and who even reads Shakespeare in naija save literature students. man mi, bone story.

i observed dat deols attracts males like bees and honey. is this psychic, like projecting your real life persona adequately into cyberspace, or is it dat the other ladies don,t show up, has she put a picture up somewhere? cos i know we men are very visual. peeps should relax and not take this thing too seriously. it,s hard enough managing relationships in real face to face contact.

mac, i think urself and deols have contrasting personalities; what u have in common is intelligence. i,m not insinuating anything o. contrasts just remind me of the divine union between the messenger of Allah(peace be upon him) who was naturally melancholy, and the choleric/sanguine red lady; Aisha(may Allah be pleased with her). ma salaam.
IslamRe: The Amazing Quran- Season 1 by snubish: 10:58pm On Jun 26, 2012

to answer your question: some people said the messenger of Allah was a mad poet.

Sahih Bukhari Volume 001, Book 007, Hadith Number 331.

Narated By Jabir bin 'Abdullah : The Prophet said, "I have been given five things which were not given to any one else before me.

1. Allah made me victorious by awe, (by His frightening my enemies) for a distance of one month's journey.
2. The earth has been made for me (and for my followers) a place for praying and a thing to perform Tayammum, therefore anyone of my followers can pray wherever the time of a prayer is due.
3. The booty has been made Halal (lawful) for me yet it was not lawful for anyone else before me.
4. I have been given the right of intercession (on the Day of Resurrection).
5. Every Prophet used to be sent to his nation only but I have been sent to all mankind
IslamRe: Hadeeth Of The Day by snubish: 12:52pm On Jun 24, 2012
Hadith Qudsi 15:

On the authority of Abu Harayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), who said that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: Allah the Almighty said:
I am as My servant thinks I am (1). I am with him when he makes mention of Me. If he makes mention of Me to himself, I make mention of him to Myself; and if he makes mention of Me in an assembly, I make mention of him in an assemble better than it. And if he draws near to Me an arm's length, I draw near to him a fathom's length. And if he comes to Me walking, I go to him at speed.

(1) Another possible rendering of the Arabic is: "I am as My servant expects Me to be". The meaning is that forgiveness and acceptance of repentance by the Almighty is subject to His servant truly believing that He is forgiving and merciful. However, not to accompany such belief with right action would be to mock the Almighty.

It was related by al-Buhkari (also by Muslim, at-Tirmidhi and Ibn-Majah).

JazakAllah Khairan 2 everyone.

Sahih Bukhari - Hadith No: 141

Volume : 9
Book : 87
Subject : Interpretation of Dreams
Narrator : Abu Huraira:
I heard Allah's Apostle saying, "I have been sent with Jawami al-Kalim (i.e., the shortest expression carrying the widest meanings), and I was made victorious with awe (caste into the hearts of the enemy), and while I was sleeping, the keys of the treasures of the earth were brought to me and were put in my hand." Muhammad said, Jawami'-al-Kalim means that Allah expresses in one or two statements or thereabouts the numerous matters that used to be written in the books revealed before (the coming of) the Prophet .

Christianity EtcRe: The Argument Against Atheism In Nigeria? by snubish: 10:15pm On Jun 23, 2012
no sir, Islam teaches the fear of God only, I have no fear of voodoo , neither do I deny its reality. God bless
Christianity EtcRe: The Argument Against Atheism In Nigeria? by snubish: 5:36pm On Jun 23, 2012
logicboy01: Your first question is a good question. I have thought about it as well. I think it goes both ways.

First, a religious country can grow in trade and economic standards but freedom and proper human development come with secular laws. We can see rich religious countries like Saudi Arabia having lower income per heads and less freedom than smaller European countries. America and Britain were very religious at first until the 20th century.

Secondly, When there is information, freedom and prosperity, atheism grows because the average man is free to express himself and the flaws of religion is out there for every one to see. I became an atheist on the internet. I read about christianity/islam and slavery. I read about the lack of evidence for God and I read about evolution.

As for magic or voodoo, they are only tricks or illusions. Magic is not real.

Dreams are not supernaural. They could be powerful coincidences. I had a dream about a chubby girl that liked me. 2 months later, I was dating a chubby girl. Coincidence. The UK is suffering from obesity.
I knew I would get a sincere reply.

So we can safely conclude that atheism would not bring prosperity or development to Nigeria.

If u were based in Nigeria here you would know that the occult is real. e.g from actions of people that have no scientific background to create an illusion, such as suspending things in thin air against gravity.

AND I assume u dream about women a lot. cheers.
Christianity EtcRe: The Argument Against Atheism In Nigeria? by snubish: 4:02pm On Jun 23, 2012
@logicboy

can u honestly reply the following questions.

1. which is the 1st, then following step in the sequence of events;
a country becomes "developed"(economic prosperity, higher standard of living etc.), then tends towards atheism, OR

2. a country has a significant atheist population, then the country gets "developed", LASTLY

3. what is your opinion on supernatural/metaphysical occurrences e.g. black magic, voodooism, witchcraft, magic for entertainment(the David Copperfield kind)etc. have u personally experienced any of these, or do u know people who have.
also some people have vivid dreams i.e their dreams foretell eventual future occurrences, or closely do so.

personally, I feel people tend towards atheism when their living conditions are improved, and as such u have the poorest countries of the world being the most religious, and u find most atheists being people in the middle to high classes of society. note that there are exceptions to this, but this seems to be the general trend.

Odunnu: Is Logicmind = Logicboy? Why the multiple IDs if yes? They both sound alike too and i'm a bit confused, please clarify
no, not true sir. u can tell they are different people from their mannerisms when writing. logicboy seems to be a sincere seeker of truth. he is well mannered and usually attacks as a defense rather than as an aggressor. logicboy, i doubt u,re really an atheist, i would say more like agnostic, i feel ur posts reveal too much sensitivity and common sense than for u to be convinced in the absence of a supreme being. young man, i wish u luck in your life, and hope u will one day find the religion of truth:

ISLAM; (we don,t claim to have all the answers; does anyone?)a religion of gratitude and awe-inspired submission to the ONE who surrounds all things. peace be unto you.
IslamRe: Muslim Singles, Let Us Have A Talk by snubish:
asalaam-alaykum-wa-ramatullah-wa-barakatuh! wow, wot can i say. engaging thread indeed. i don,t usually post on social forums but this is too tempting, even though nl seemed visually clumsy, i couldn't help registering to post on this one. this dude that was on the thread for 14hrs: my guy se u no miss salat during dat time sha unto say, u no go get valid excuse o.
many exciting personalties on the thread mukina2: i,ll call you the wise old woman, are u sure u,re not married? ur posts are so matured i,m sure u're al least 25yrs, and deols: intelligent head and fiesty at heart, we say u,re the madam of the house. poor maclatunji: (queer username) u will be mostly alone in this lifetime, the upright brother who wants to change the world and put some order into all the chaos around us, wish u luck man, believe me i know how u feel. and last but not least; toba: crazy funny dude, u seem to be extremely socially sophisticated, running things on a muslim thread for so long, bros u gat the flos man

isn,t it funny how much u can reveal about yourself unknowingly on an internet forum without the pretence and inhibition of real life confrontation. i may be wrong though, but u guys still make interesting read.

i may not post on this thread again but i,ll surely peep in to see wassup occasionally, so i may as well jus contribute my quota of attributes i would admire........ we all know the fundamentals by now: religion(deen),then family, then wealth, and lastly beauty. of course this is just meant as a summary to guide. a mumin must be practical in their affairs, u don,t want to use the excuse of allowed polygamy 3months after nikkah, and remember that Allah subhanawatala hates divorce. for example ladies, would u marry a man having several obligations and barely able to take care of his own self just because of his deen while u were not desperate? the point is balance in decision making. me, so in addition to the fundamentals i mentioned above, i would feel most fulfilled with

1. someone similar to me particularly in temperament. a family is a place where each individual is supposed to develop to their highest potential, and this would not be possible in an environment where there is a lot of conflict. you can google briggs personalty types to get a better grasp, sometimes opposites are compatible.

2.i would also want someone with something in the head or i,ll be bored in a week, so education; no compromise(level of, depends on other factors). this is not vanity but practical personal and social conclusions. u don,t want to go out alone all the time because you wife is not able to communicate with others.

3.then looks, average would be just fine. i have this grade a, b, and c thing i do, as i have put myself in grade b, then b would be just fine for me. i want a wife and mother for my sires not a trophy.

4.i also do this spiritual, mental, physical balance check but that,s just a queer distraction.

5.but lest i forget, one of the most important qualities i look for is resourcefulness and contentment. i,m sorry to reveal that i,m yet to know on close terms a content Nigerian woman, maybe it,s me attracting the wrong people and all that but that is what i observed. i,m not saying a woman should not be ambitious, but moderately so. the women i know want to drive brand new beamers, vacation in london, and shop in paris. and if they don,t have this there,s this perpetual sadness that follows them around. Allah subhanawatala is the One Who gives wealth in His Own time, so Nigerian ladies, learn some patience and appreciate a hardworking honest man. but i do not blame them, if u,re not wealthy in this country with no social benefits, then u may be just poor o, while politicians will be running around with people's daughters in flashy cars.
so in a nutshell these are my personal preferences; and as i currently make less than 100k monthly, i am not even trying to search o. i know myself and the kind of family lifestyle i want, maybe i,ll change sometime but for now sha......... big ups to y'all, may Allah subhanawatala give us success in this life and the next. ma salaam.
