Islam for Muslims / Re: Would You Follow Someone Like Prophet Muhammad If He Appears Today? by snubish: 6:24am On Jul 08, 2020
The messenger of God, may peace be on him demonstrated qualities and utilized methods that enabled the success of his mission of spreading Islam at the time, first among his close associates, then his tribe, and then the whole Arabian peninsula. If he had been sent in this age, he would have displayed similar characteristics and employed strategies that would ensure the success of his mission.

For example we could also ask: if Alexander the great or Atila the Hun were to campaign in the present era with their horsemen, would they have built empires?
It wouldn't be so hard to follow the messenger in this age as the fundamentals of his character were those of compelling leadership bound to attract followers to fulfil the mission. Indeed the biography of the messenger should be studied along with the religion. How would one resist a man gifted with the most irresistible, charismatic, enigmatic character of his era.

A man most honest amongst his people who came with the message of Truth delivering the people from error and misguidance.
The man of beautiful appearance from the noblest of Arab tribes.
The man of honour imbued with the full complement of leadership qualities. The man of integrity, of honour, of great courage, of compassion, of strength, the man of vision, and matching strategy.

The most eloquent man with clarity of voice and message, speaking just enough words required to transmit the information, not loquacious.
A man of the highest standard of moral character, supremely courageous yet as shy as a young virgin girl. Like prophet Moses exemplary in several spheres of human endeavour; a loyal friend, a successful trader, a caring father, a loving husband, a great military commander. Beloved to muslims across ages ever since, blessed in life, honoured in the hereafter: Mohammed, may the peace and blessings of God be on him. A man with so many virtues except that we were warned to avoid praising him too much lest we fall into the error of raising him to the status of deity.

Clearly, had the messenger been sent in this era he would still have had faithful followers enlisted into the noble eternal truth of Islam.

Very fine sir. Yes, been a while. I do try to pop in every now and then.

tintingz:

Isn't pessimism part of reality or you want to deny it existence?

Did you just ask "Is there any evidence there's no afterlife?" Are you shifting the burden of proof?

You made a positive claim there's afterlife, proof it first, how did you know there's afterlife?

Incoherent. I never said pessimism is not a reality.
I am a Muslim and I believe in an afterlife as dictated by my religion. I also believe the afterlife will establish the ultimate perfect justice, a notion inherent in every human, for all the injustices suffered in this seemingly imperfect world.
Quit trying to sound smart by dragging people into endless back and forths. A true seeker of knowledge has no such petty desires to be seen as intelligent. Peace.

Atheists exhibit incredible fatalism and pessimism without realizing it.

Whatever the afterlife brings, we sincerely hope it would be perfect justice. How are mere humans to know the details of what perfect justice is.

Is there any evidence that there is no afterlife?

People that believe in divine justice believe that in an afterlife, God will establish a perfect justice for all wrongs as only He can.
Can an earthly justice system ever be perfect?
What of the justice for severe deformity, the kind you see on roadside beggars, how does an earthly justice correct that?

To the atheists on this thread. I'll like to ask some quick questions. Personally I believe there is the truth in many religions, some have however suffered more corruption than others, so I respect all religions to a certain degree. The questions are based on the concept of justice. What do you guys think of justice? Is there anything like justice, divine justice, or is life just what it is? Do extremely unfortunate people, the grossly deformed, the impoverished, the oppressed people, do they have any chance of redress after going through such a hard time in this life through no personal failings? Or is that just it? The people that murdered so many people, rapists raping and killing pregnant women, ritualists and other such malevolent characters, do they get to suffer any retribution or is that just it? I'm eager to hear your opinions.
For those among you that have experienced supernatural occurrences, how did you explain them, or are those just chance events, is that just it?

The weekend is almost over and I thought this thread would have generated a healthy debate. NL Islam for Muslims section is a shadow of its former self. I assumed Muslims, atheists, and other rationally inclined minds would have jumped on this thread by now engaging in some intellectual slugging. But alas, gone are those days, everyone is just content airing their own opinions without being challenged, not impressive.

The Quran was revealed through an illiterate trader known as "the trustworthy one" due to his personal integrity: prophet Mohammed, in the Arabian peninsula.
An illiterate, he could neither read nor write, yet the Quran is a compelling work of poetry and elegant prose.

Tell us why you think the Quran is perfect or not perfect.
Islam for Muslims / Re: Is The Quran Perfect? by snubish: 11:06am On Jul 03, 2020
The Quran is essentially unchanged and has only one version since its compilation 14 centuries ago.

The Quran can be memorized entirely as it was first revealed. Indeed the Quran was not a book at first but a recitation.
These are some of the reasons why we say the Quran is perfect. Let us have your sincere opinion.

I would be starting the posting.
As a Muslim the basis of my belief is faith in the infallibility or divinity of the Quran. While the Quran did not specifically claim to be perfect, we believe the Quran is God's word, and as all things from God are perfect, so his words are perfect.

The Quran is the only extant book entirely claiming to be of divine origin, it is entirely reported speech and it says the word "Say" (referring to prophet Mohammed, the messenger of the Quran) in several places.

Alhamdulillah Rabbialameen. We seek refuge in God from the accursed satan.
There have been claims and counterclaims in recent times about the Quran being perfect. So this thread hopes to emphasize the discussion about the Quran' s perfection. In sha Allah it would be beneficial to all sincere participants.
I beseech everyone that would be posting to keep things civil, no one has perfect knowledge. Belief or unbelief is largely based on faith, it's really not dignifying to insult people of a different belief. So avoid such denigrating statements.
Posters should resist to urge to prove they are intelligent by staying on point, avoid using Latin terms of debate and other such jargon whilst passing your message across.
Pls keep to the topic, state facts only and back it up with reasons and evidences.
Preferably stick to what you are personally sure of, avoid posting links to esoteric websites with doubtful sincerity.
Keep responses brief preferably not exceeding 10 lines per post. Avoid copying and pasting large sections from internet articles. Those who are interested would do their own research afterwards.
In sha Allah, we would all emerge with more knowledge from the discussion.
We politely request that the moderators not move this to the front page yet to keep from being rowdy.
