@i_am_saheed Congratulations on your TRV. It was all worth it at the end. |
Another word of advice for those yet to submit their application. Understand that the funds available for your stay in canada should be quoted in CANADIAN DOLLARS. After printing your statement, I would advice you go to any currency converter website to convert the domiciled currency to canadian dollars, print and attach it to you bank statements or proof of funds. Also, dont forget to convert it at the same date the statement of account was printed. |
richard4ssky: Dear Nairaland,Send your email addy. Il push a good template to you. What course are you going in for? |
Attaching strong stinker letters when reapplying for a visa after an unreasonable rejection actually helps in the application process, thats if the reasons for the rejection are baseless, illogical and have been justifiably addressed. I remember I was denied a UK visa once because they couldnt confirm the source of funds in my account and hence their reason was that they werent sure i would be able to sustain myself without a recourse to public funds. I wrote a very condescending letter expressing my displeasure at the visa officer's decision and also stating that their reasons were beyond logical as the funds in my account shows I wont need to work or depend on public funds. The visa was issued with the same documents I had previously applied with. So @revolt, I advice your uncle writes one of these letters, stating, without mincing words his utmost displeasure at their decision. |
revolt: went 2 acc statements. A company and personal. The company had 70mill+ while the personal had about 9+. My tuition was 12800. Fully paid. My uncle was so mad when he heard I was denied. He even wants to appeal and complain about his financial standing being questioned.@Revolt: There could be a couple of reasons for the denial. Did your Uncle specifically state that he was sponsoring you in the form of either a sponsorship letter or a sworn affidavit? How many dependants does He have? Did the company (I assume it belongs to Him) give reasons why they intend to sponsor you? How are you beneficial to the company? Why are they sponsoring you? Were documents provided to show that your uncle has sole signatory to the accounts? "Insufficient Funds" doesn't necessarily mean unavailability of physical funds, but in the bigger picture, it means how much of this funds is actually available at your disposal. |
Onye oma: When was the money lodged into the acc?? If its a few days to print out, I think its fishy but if it has been there for a while as you said, like 3/4 months before print out...its ok if am left to say (cos that cud be his savings)...all you nid to do is to attach a proof of source of incomeIt has been lodged in the account for more than a year. The account was actually dormant and had to be reactivated when we printed out the statement. |
Hello again Canada hopefuls, Hope everyone is doing great today. Im in the process of sending in my application, but one of my sponsors account has no transaction on it. He has had the funds domiciled in the account for a while without any need for it before deciding to divert the funds for my sponsorship. Will this pose any potential set back? The statement is just a one page printout stating the amount in it from January to July and no transactions. |
Hey pple. I asked this question before and would appreciate if someone can help out. Can I use my pensions statement of account and shares statement from CSCS as ties to home country? |
uchi4jah: LONG STORY:Congrats. Also good to know the medicals are not restricted to Abuja and Lagos only. |
Hello house, iv got a question and would be glad if someone can help out. Asides shares certificate, can a pensions account statement be also used as ties to home country? Also, is the fingerprint section of the police clearance sent along with the character clearance certificate for the visa processing? |
Hello Pips, I have been going through the thread for a while now, though the number of pages in previous parts made it difficult to read everyones contribution, but I must say i have learnt a lot. Thanks for all the meaningful contributions, advise, comments, criticisms and shared stories. I have been offered admission in Cape Breton University for Fall, 2013 (Starting September) but doubt I can make the September opening so plan to meet up with the Winter 2014 admission. Although an application was also made to SAIT which is pending evaluation as the Fall Opening for my choice of program is full for september. I plan to start my Visa application next week and currently in the process of collating my documents for the process. My status is as follows: 1. I am using my brother as a sponsor. With SOA from 2 banks with $25,000 in total from both banks. This is a dom account and not his salary account which i also plan to present as proof that he is still well funded to take care of his family here after paying for fees and board. 2. I also plan to use my dad as a co-sponsor and will provide his Tax clearance, Certificate of incorporation of his company, Landed property and all other relevant documents. He is supporting me with N1.5m which will be transferred to my account this week 3. I lost my Job in November last year in an Oil Servicing Company in PH and havent been working but plan to have my dads company provide an engagement letter backdated to January 2013 as resumption date in his company. In his company documents, my name is in their organogram as a director though his line of business is in no way related to what I studied; intend to study or my career path (Oil and Gas/Petroleum Engineering) 4. I have my personal savings from my previous job at about N2m in my own account and have cashflow of close to N6m in and out from December to present. 5. I have no landed property, but will provide my sponsors (brother) landed property in lekki worth N50m and other assets. Can their landed properties be used as ties to home country? Any other person going to Cape Breton? I plan to become an active participant and will feed more info as the application progresses. Once again, its nice being here. Goodluck to all of us! |

A lot of Honda Accord pre model refresh ( year 03 to 05) put up for sale on this forum (Nigerian used) happen to be V6 engines. Is this coincidental or are the V6 engines actually problematic? This issue has given me a lot of concern, being that i just pre-ordered a v6 accord. Do we have incompetent mechanics for such engine types? |
http://edition.cnn.com/2010/WORLD/africa/08/03/nigeria.oil.niger.delta/index.html#fbid=8JTJXzK30Cj Niger Delta, Nigeria (CNN) -- The young man, his body glistening with black oil and sweat, poured more oil onto the fire. The flames roared, heating two barrels of oil to explosive temperatures. He escaped to a safer distance, a slight smile breaking his grim face -- he had survived. "This job is very dangerous," he explains, asking to remain anonymous. "The smoke, the heat -- I cannot count the number of people who have died in explosions because they cannot escape the flames." He is risking his life trying to refine diesel from oil in the swamps of Nigeria's oil-rich Niger Delta. The contraption looks like a crude school science project. The aim is to boil two barrels of oil to evaporate the diesel which then passes down a rusted pipe, cooled by water, and drips slowly out into a container at the other end. Heating oil to such temperatures with such basic equipment is dangerous. Having the distilled diesel only a few meters from a naked flame can be lethal. The surrounding trees and earth are blackened from the flames and explosions. The four young men working the illegal refineries stand a respectable distance from the flames until it is their turn to pour more oil on the fire. Nigeria is the fifth-largest oil exporter to the U.S. but little money from the country's oil industry has been invested in its main oil-producing region -- the Niger Delta. Taken out over the region in a Shell helicopter, the illegal oil-refining sites look like small pockets of hell - scorched earth with great flames leaping up from small dark craters. From the air, Shell facilities that have been attacked and the subsequent oil spills can be seen. The oil companies, the government and the communities below are locked in a battle of blame over who is responsible for the cycle of violence. Meanwhile, the region is being plundered. There is little development and the majority of people live on less that $2 a day, despite the region's vast oil wealth. And at the heart of the problem is corruption -- billions of dollars worth of oil are being stolen in a massive illegal business known as "oil bunkering." "I would put the figure at about 100,000 barrels a day," explains Mutiu Sunmonu, the Managing Director of Shell. "Some of it is stolen in tankers." Sold abroad for a price of $60 a barrel, 100,000 barrels would be worth more than $2 billion a year. On Monday, the crude oil futures market surged past $80 a barrel to its highest levels in three months. No-one has been prosecuted but reports accuse local politicians and the military of heavy involvement. The young men at the illegal refineries however collect their oil in dugout canoes, not tankers. They are not the major players. And they say they are tired of receiving all the blame and none of the money from Nigeria's oil industry. But when I asked if he saw a way out he simply shook his head. Then he turned and ran to put more oil on the fire before it died out. |
