EducationRe: UNILAG/MAU Students Block 3rd-Mainland-Bridge by soapdish(f): 12:05pm On May 30, 2012
What the students are protesting against is not the name rather it is the way and manner this particular change came about.
Unilag is a creation of an Act of Parliament and so any change in the provisions of the said Act MUST be through an amendment by the National Assembly. For GEJ to effectively and legally make this change, there must be an amendment and this was not done. He undermined the provisions of the Law Απϑ‎ totally disregarded due process. This move can be acceptable under a military rule but not in a democratic setting.
It is only a court of law that can right this wrong and I know the unilag stakeholders will seek redress in ct.
PoliticsRe: Jonathan's Plot To Disunite The Southwest by soapdish(f): 12:52am On May 30, 2012
Τhe question really is- can an Institution that was created by an Act be unilaterally changed by an executive fiat. Τhe answer is NO. It takes another Act of Τhe National Assembly for this illegality to be legal. Due process was not followed and the fact that the Federal government funds the institution does not change the position of the law.

GEJ is really clueless. Τhe students are roiting over this and I hope he is happy. It Ȋ̝̊̅§ so so wrong. Wrong move.

FamilyRe: I Don't Want To Divorce Her,but Do I Have Any Choice? by soapdish(f): 10:01am On May 22, 2012
@OP...I feel your pain but truth is divorcing your wife of 10years or trying your luck with another woman outside might not be the solution. Our God is a faithful God,continue to remind him of His words concerning your situation and you will be amazed at the result. I have seen a couple that were childless for 17 years but today they have two lovely kids. So my dear, hold on to God and you MUST have your testimony.

Just go back to your doctor, carry out all the necessary fertility test and let your doctor advice you ☺ή your best options. 2ndly,pray, pray and never stop praying in faith.

Between, a woman who knows your challenges and who is equally desperate for a husband can pin another man's pregnancy on and you will end up raising another man's child as your own. It has been happening so think it through before you committ this adultery.

Speechless...what a husband!!!. He did not see other girls except your employee. That's a huge betrayal from one's better half. My dear, wipe your tears, God shall console you by granting you fruit of the womb. Don't leave your home for another woman to reap where she did not sow.

PropertiesRe: Ejecting Tenants After 6 Months Notice Lapses: How Do I Do It? by soapdish(f): 7:53pm On Mar 28, 2012
@Lastpage...my "position" is the position of the Law regarding Tenancy. I am a Lawyer so I should know that. You don't have to change your position though.
PropertiesRe: Ejecting Tenants After 6 Months Notice Lapses: How Do I Do It? by soapdish(f):
@Lastpage.. .there is no law that provides for additional one month Notice after the Statutory six months Notice. It is also perfectly legal to issue a Notice to Quit while the tenancy subsists, in fact, a Notice to Quit ought to expire on eve of the anniversary of that tenancy I.e at the same time the. tenancy expires.

@OP...you have two options- to wait for the Notice you gave him to expire then serve him seven days Notice of Owner's Intention to Recover Possession then Court but here the tenant will not be compelled to pay rent for the extra months that fell within the six months Notice. This is because the six months Notice is the Prerogative of the Tenant.
Alternatively, you can wait for him to renew then serve him a Notice that will expire on the eve of his anniversary.

N/B- this is only applicable to Lagos State.

[quote author=muyoto]The tests used are based on the presence of antibodies to HIV, and the not virus itself. So even if the viral level is undetectable, the test will most likely show positive.

@OP, the need for the test will be mostly for documentation purposes, and not as a basis for denying you employment. Like most contributors have said, it's best to involve your relations particularly your uncle.

Best of luck smiley[/quote. You may be right but from what I have read most people that have undetectable VL usually test negative.
FamilyRe: HIV & Work: Desperately In Need Of Advice by soapdish(f): 6:58pm On Mar 27, 2012
@OP If you are on ARV drugs long before the medicals, your viral load would likely be very low and may not be detected. That is your best option. If you have not started on the drugs, you better start. Goodluck.

@Purestboy... Your level of ignorance is so sad and pathetic. You need to enlighten yourself before you make a fool of yourself in a public forum.

Where is the house located?. If it is in Lagos, you will have to check the Tenancy Laws applicable in Lagos State. There are lots of technicalities invoved when dealing with tenants in Lagos State. However if it is not in Lagos then follow @lawyers advice

PoliticsRe: The Unforgivable Blunders Of Ojukwu During The Biafran War! by soapdish(f): 1:34pm On Feb 28, 2012
@kokoA, Τhe Biafran widows, widowers and orphans were/are comforted by the fact that their loved ones died for a just cause but the same cannot be said of their counterpart in the present day Nigeria who lost their loved ones in the hands of the BH boys or during the fuel subsidy saga. Though huge casualties were recorded on both sides during the war, however, the point that is clear to all and made possible by the war is that nobody should undermine the strenght of a people determined to survive against all odds. Igbo's have Ojukwu to thank for that and that is more than enough to accord him the kind of respect and honour being shown to him on his final home coming. He was the strenght of Igboland, the Ijele. Oh yes!, Τhe injustice is still persistence but sadly there is no Ojukwu to stand for the people either through jaw-jaw or war-war.
