Religion / Re: Why Do God Leave Us To Suffer? by Softee(f): 11:55am On Nov 19, 2007 |
But funny enough even shown throughout the bible, those who really love God and belong to him suffer more. E.g. Job, David Remember heaven is the promised destination and earthly troubles will eventually be taken away and if you compare heaven to our earthly troubles, they will be so worth it! Revelation 21:4 "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away." |

stingersmi: True. However stealing that crayfish can also be an expirience! People testify over many things, i also used to be a theif because i felt nobody understood me. However i recovered from that with the help of God and it has become an expirience in my life that i was never go back and will not encourage anyone to start with! Now if i meet a child who has started with the same problem and says "nobody understands me" i will be able to help him/her as i have been through the same or a similar expirience! |
Religion / Re: Why Do God Leave Us To Suffer? by Softee(f): 10:39am On Sep 26, 2007 |
There are many reasons why God can allow you to go through trials. 1.) It could be a learning expirience - eg. If Gods plan for your life is to become a comfortor, how will you know how to comfort people if you have never needed comfort? 2.) It could be as a result of your own doings - eg. having unprotected sex leads to unwanted pregnancy. 3.) It could be just to make you stronger - eg. A person who has suffered rejection after rejection will not be fazed by another rejection One thing i have learned about God is that, as much as he is moved my our emotions. If somebody is praying to God for healing in SEPTEMBER 2007 and they are suffering, crying most nights and God has already planned that they are going to be healed in SEPTEMBER 2008, during that time it will feel like God isn't really there, but really he has already planned your healing! Personally i think God has a plan for everybodys life and the things we expirience in life have deeper meaning to what we think. Even if you don't believe God has a plan still try and turn your struggles into positive things and just know that every tear you cry, every heavy heart you feel is an expirience! |

If there was no Christianity, there wouldn't be a world! |
Religion / Re: Does A Believer by Softee(f): 5:23pm On Aug 08, 2007 |
Yes, a believer/Christian can suffer from a mental illness. If you look into what causes mental illness it is usually an imbalance of chemicals in the brain. There is no real cure for mental illness, just Gods healing hand and coping mechanisms. Prayer and action are the key to dealing with a mental illness. For example if ocd is the mental illness that is being suffered and you feel the need to wipe every door handle before you enter a room, try to not do this once before entering a room, also praying that God will give you the strength to fight the anxietys and heal you. |

Family / Re: Would You Abort? Advice Someone To Abort? Is Abortion Murder? by Softee(f): 7:45pm On Jan 31, 2007 |
chillbabe: Well if that 5% could have a decent life, is that not better then killing them. Also, 5% may seem small in percentage (even though not accurate) but lets say 100,000 drug babies are born a month throughout the world about 5,000 will have a good/decent life. Is that not worth it? Believe me, i do understand where you are coming from, obviously you work with them, which is a beautiful job, so you know miles more than me about what they suffer but remember even if it is low, they have hope in their lives, as it has been proven by survivors. |

Seun: Its good you say this. My dear Followers of Christ. This is a perfect example of what you should not reply to. When Seun finally wants to admit hes lost, as many of us has been. Maybe then it will be appropriate to reply to him. |

I feel i am being misunderstood. If a person ASKS about christianity sincerly wanting to clarify, gain knowledge, clear confusion etc etc, i do not see a problem preching or conversating with them about Christ. However on Nairaland. I see an ongoing trend of people starting threads in the hopes to see Christians arguing amoung themseleves and Christians arguing with Muslims. Or even out of ignorance to mock the Christians and we stupidly try and argue a case with them, when we know that they can never hear or understand The Word as they are blind and then our selfish desires for being right kicks in and we forget the power of the Holy Spirit. What this shows God is that we don't trust in him because we do not have to argue a case for God. Do you really think God intended it to be like this? His people arguing amoung themselves in order to be right? Or is this satans plan? Ruining the reputation of Christians. However their are people who judge Christians by streotypes and have been misled (In my time of being a Christians i have corrected quite a few of these). There is nothing wrong with correcting them. However, It is pointless presenting the same aguments towards people who don't give a damn and want to mock Christ. There is more Anti-Christs in this world then we think there are. 1 Like |

goodguy: goodguy, I do understand what you are saying but these topics are more like discussions about Gods word. However topics like: 60 Questions for the christians 101 Contradictions in the bible etc etc Do not need to be responded to. If they don't want to believe then thats their problem, all they want to do is spread ignorance. |
Religion / Re: Faithful Followers Of Christ Should Stop Religious Debates by Softee(f): 5:09pm On Jan 28, 2007 |
We shouldn't even reply to these kind of people. Some Christians have that fire burning in them that they feel so passionate about Christ, as i did, that would make you fight (using words) hand and foot to put The Word across. But what we are forgetting, it is only through the Holy Spirit. |
Religion / Re: Faithful Followers Of Christ Should Stop Religious Debates by Softee(f): 5:07pm On Jan 28, 2007 |
A debate is never Informative. If a Debate is informative, it is a discussion rather. Debates are hurtful and lead nowhere. Even some discussions are pointless. For example the user IslamPride has islam pride! he is convinced his religion is true, but this wont stop him asking the christians questions that he already has the answer to, mocking the 'worshippers of the Messiah'. |
Religion / Faithful Followers Of Christ Should Stop Religious Debates by Softee(f): 4:47pm On Jan 28, 2007 |
You may think it is very hypocritical of me to say this as i have done this quite a lot. However i stopped when Christ layed it on my heart to do so. I haven't debated or wrote one religious comment since last year august. CHRISTIANS Christ said himself that the world hated him first. It is unlikely that us arguing and trying to put his word across to unbelievers who don't want to hear, but mock the word is going to change their opinion. I don't think there is anything wrong with informing a nonbeliever or reasurring someone of course, but debating is a problem that Christ himself said don't do. It is only through the power of the Holy Spirit that a non-beliver can be transformed and we all need to trust the Holy Spirit. You see what makes us differen't is that we have the gift of the Holy Spirit so we do not need to take part in Religious Debating. We serve a powerful God, A God of Concequences and A God of Love. Remember whoever will perish will perish. Satan is moving and has blinded the eyes of Men. 1 Like |

Excuseeeeeeeee You! You said it like wives are children. A wife is an adult like you, the same way she annoys you, you annoy her. Such is life! No man has the right to hit his wife and if he does hes a coward and can't face someone his on gender to beat on. |
Family / Re: Would You Abort? Advice Someone To Abort? Is Abortion Murder? by Softee(f): 10:20pm On Jan 26, 2007 |
I would give it up for adoption to a loving family without taking a single glance at the child. But yes i do agree that it is easier said when you have never expirienced such creulty. However i do believe that would be the correct thing to do. |

gaby: You are missing the point. It does not matter what the person went through all that matters is that they are well now. We all go through situations, illnessess, whatever it may be to make us who we are in life. Drug-babies have the right to live just as anybody else has. Some drug-babies may recover, some may not, however that does not mean they should be killed off. They should be given a chance in life just as anybody else. |
Family / Re: Would You Abort? Advice Someone To Abort? Is Abortion Murder? by Softee(f): 9:35pm On Jan 23, 2007 |
chillbabe: I disagree totally. When a woman conceives, her body is no longer hers. It is the babys, afterall the baby did not ask to be concieved. I have seen a lot of programmes on drug-babies and i have seen the harsh reality of life but may i remind you that even mothers that are not on drugs have sick babies. IT IS LIFE. Abortion cannot be justified FULL STOP!! PS. I live in london and right now they are showing american idol. One of the singers was a drug baby and she looks pretty good to me with a beautiful voice. Its called HOPE my dear, with hope anybody can get through anything. Abortion is murder, an easy way out! |

Damest09: Thank you dear. I no i am a fool for replying to some of these people. It hurt me real bad that they choose a pedophile over Jesus, after all he done for us. I was deeply hurt and angered but i have calmed down. Its not like God hasn't old me this before i just was disobedient and didn't listen. God bless you + Thank you very much for reciveing Gods words and telling me them. This is my last post defending God. They will see. |

OlaAjia: How dare you call me a hypocrite. Do you live my life? Do you walk in my shoes? Have you seen what i have seen? Have you been through what i have been through? So do not call me a hypocrite unless you are God. There is even no point of me even telling you that Jesus was not a man because your ignorance has blinded you. However i will TELL you this. At least my role model is not a pedophile, womanizer, rapist and a murderer. Im so glad to have Jesus he is perfect, UNLIKE THAT FALSE pedophile you call a prophet. I am a fool for even replying to you. God help us, to help me deal with people like YOU. |

Have you read pslam? The only thing God done for this man was allow him not to be killed himself. God is forgiving but he is also a God of concequences. If you deserve punishment, God is not going to stop it just because you have him. Because you pay for your sins. However Because of Jesus they get forgiven - What a wonderful blessing. I don't really know about Moses that much but it would help if you put verses of when moses did not save the slaves because they wasn't a jews. Even so, why should God save those who he will save and they will just worship idols even when they have seen his Glory. If we want to compare religions now. Yes God destroyed people but after he did, he showed his love for us by sending his son down. But nooooooo 'Allah' still wants muslims to kill me and YOU. |

Don't you get it? Not all whom God kills are DEAD. They are dead in flesh but not in spirit. For all you know, right now they can be rejoicing in heaven. |
