tumababa: yeah gevey is also fine but i prefer to stay away from gevey cos all d fake ones are also called gevey. if i cant get directly from applenberry(they dont ship directly to nigeria), i dont buy. so the one i'm selling is not gevey. Its rebel pro and i got it DIRECTLY from d rebelteam in d UK.

I got Gevey SIM Ultra from applenberry (US) for my ATT locked 4s. I don't think I need it any more as AT&T finally unlock my iPhone 4s Permanently today.

I intended sending my son of 6yrs to study in uk with my wife as his guardian.
A school has already agreed to accept him, and he's is planning to apply as Tier4 Child visa.
Under which category my wife suppose apply as his guardian in uk? My wife will not be working.
I'm the one sponsoring them.

SAM factory unlocked my 3Gs long time ago.... Hope this is happening again

As many that use SAM to unlock, download the new redsn0w0.9.10.b8 to backup your PRICELESS activation tickets.
Apple is in hot-soup till higher iOS update, probably iOS6!!!

If selecting AT&T is not working ...then select your SIM Country,Carrier and SIM ID (Airtel or Glo).
That is what I did in my own case before I got it unlock.... Just try and see what works for you.

A memomrable time for iPhone unlocking using SAM...

geeez: Hi guys. Thanks to the advice I got on this forum. I got my visa to the UK in 12 days but just a question.

What is the rationale for the passport page stamped with a visa. I got a UK visa and my visa was stamped on an inner page, leaving several pages blank. Same wih my son and on both passports, the pages stamped were different. Does anyone know why?

I don't know know the rational behind that, Mine and my family passport was stamped with VISA on the second to the last page of the passport, leaving a lot of blank pages.
Maybe Justwise knows better.

@Tumababa: For 2wks, I have been finding it difficult to activate my iPhone 4s (AT&T Locked) with that Rebel SIM since I got to switch-off while boarding Air-plane)
Then, I decided to combine SAM (from Official SAM repo) with the Rebel SIM.
Then, I got a surprise package!!! without repeating all the Rebel SIM rituals.

Bawss1: It is rather disappointing that the weather app on the iPhone does not have any weather report for Abuja the capital of Nigeria. The only cities in Nigeria that the app has reports for are Kano, Port Harcourt and Lagos.

Ibadan was included.

Thanks justwise for all the advise. My family and I entered Uk early this week without any problem. While some were delayed to verify their submitted info, we were allowed to pass without any delay.

I was asked the kind of visa i applied by ECO in UK and i answered tourism.
The ECO asked where do you want to stay. I replied my aunty's place.
The ECO replied why. And I answered that my aunty said she doesn't see why I should stay in hotel when she has a house. But i forgot that I didn't state her name in my application.
I believe the ECO didn't look well to see her name was not included. Anyway she ended up wishing me happy holiday. And i entered.

I will not cancel our hotel booking, I am keeping it to have a smooth holiday. I got people to stay with, but since i didnt mention it in my application, it makes sense not to say "I will be staying with them"

Has anyone seen something like this before? Unlocking iPhone 4s with Rebel SIM, the unlock work perfectly. Now I'm having AT&T network logo instead of mine own Naija logo.

justwise: Stick with the info you gave in your visa application, anything different from that will get you into alot of trouble

I just decided to visit UK for Easter with my family, when applying for Visa, I use hotel reservation
The Visa was issued, but I will be staying with a cousin. I did not include in the Visa application I got any relative.
If they ask us where we are staying, what will be the best answer? Hope this wont hinder us at port of entry?

Bawss1: You may still have to root the Galaxy S II if you want to use the phone to its max you know.

I think what Smartkid want in a phone is Delivery report for SMS.

Aloud is a cydia application that can do the same thing (expect text to speech), but read out your notification out, even if you got missed call, new SMS, facebook or twitter notification, news feeds etc WITHOUT internet connection. It activates in-built voice action of ur iPhone to do it.

Thanks Adebyte and Soft Touch. My birth certificate is still intact and will include as advised alongside my son's. Unfortunately, I don't have a tax certificate yet but my HR did a letter to that effect (separate from the letter of introduction).

One last thing. I have downloaded the forms online. Should I just fill them and go straight to the VFS office or I have to book an appointment?

I currently work in a bank and I earn a little over half a million Nara monthly. I'm a family man with 3 kids but I intend to travel for the first time to the UK and I plan to be there as family visitor during my holiday. I plan to stay with my first cousin (my father's elder sister's son) who is a British citizen.

I plan to travel with my son who is just 6 years old and currently I have the folllowing documents:

1) Letter of introduction from my employer (though I'm just 7 months in my new office after working with another bank)
2) A letter from my HR stating that I pay my taxes under PAYE
3) My passport as well as that of my son
4) My marriage certificate
5) My printed pay slip
6) A letter of consent from my wife indicating that she is in support of the planned trip with my son

I plan to get the following from my cousin shortly:

1) A letter of invitation
2) Tenancy Agreement
3) A scanned page in his British passport

Since I plan to sponsor myself, I was just wondering if is necessary to include my cousin's pay slips. I would also like to know how early I should I apply for a visa if I have to travel early next month. Then the letters from my employer was issued last week. Will it still be 'current' if I have to use it in the next 2 - 3 weeks? Would I also need to include my letter of employment, confirmation and resignation plus bank statements of my previous employer? When I left my previous employer, my account was in debit as a loan I had was paid into my current account. However, I've paid down the loan since December last year. I need to know if there's any other document I've missed out.

1. You may need to include your Tax Clearance Certificate too. Even if it shows on ur HR pay Slip, I think it is necessary you include your last Tax-Clearance that is available.
2. You need to start as early as possible, From Feb 15th, mine took only 14days for the result, that is it was ready by 29th Feb.  I was at VFS office on Thursday 7th Mar, the crowd was overwhelming. So, stitch in time saves nine!
3. Your bank statement and pay-slip should be from the past 6 months.
