According to him, the police called him unprinted name, seized his phone when they realised he was recording their nefarious activities.
There was commotion at the scene where many people are gathered to have a glimpse of what was happening, in the process, Olatunji and others were teargassed by the Policeman who was trying to escape the scene.

Over 170 investors who invested about N10.8 billion with a Quintessential Investment Company owned by one Joshua Adeyinka Kayode are groaning in pains as they could no longer access neither the capital invested nor the profit accruable.

The Company promised to pay back all investor's Investments on April 14, 2021 but till date nothing has been heard from Joshua Kayode's company.
The following is a publication by The Guardian Newspapers in August 2021:
"The 22 years old man, Joshua Adeyinka Kayode, who allegedly defrauded 170 people of the sum of N10.8 billion under fake investment scheme was Wednesday admitted to bail by Justice Nicholas Oweibo of the Federal High Court, Lagos, in the sum of N2 billion with two sureties in like sum.
Justice Oweibo also ordered that each of the sureties must own a landed property within the court’s jurisdiction and must depose to an affidavit of means.

The judge also ordered that the two sureties and the defendant must deposit two passport photographs with the Court’s Registrar and that the defendant must also deposit his international passport with the Court’s Registrar.
While adjourning the defendant’s trial to November 10, the judge ordered that the prosecutor must verify all the bail terms and that the defendant be remanded in the custody of the Nigerian Correctional Services (NCoS) till he perfects his bail terms.
Justice Oweibo ruled on the bail application, after taking arguments from the defendant’s counsel, Mr. Emeka Okpoko (SAN) and the prosecutor, Mr. Tijjani Williams.
The defendant alongside his company, Quintessential Investment Company Limited were arraigned before the court on August 5, by the men of Force Criminal Investigation Department (Force CID) Annex, Alagbon-Ikoyi, Lagos, on 170 count charges bordering on conspiracy and obtaining by false pretence.
The prosecutor, Williams, during the arraignment, told the court that the defendant and others now at large, committed the offences between July 2020 and March 2021.

Williams told the court that the defendant defrauded the victims under the pretence of false multiple returns on investment.
He told the court that the offences committed by the defendant are contrary to and punishable under section 8(a) and 1(1) (a) (c) of the Advance Fee Fraud and other Fraud Related Offences Act 2006.
But the defendant denied the allegations and pleaded not guilty to all the counts.
Following his not guilty plea, the prosecutor urged the court to remand him in the custody of Nigerian Correctional Services (NCoS), pending when his bail application would be heard and determined.
Counsel to the defendant, Okpoko (SAN) did not oppose the remand application, but asked the court for a short date.
Consequently, Justice Ringim adjourned the matter till Thursday, for hearing and determination of the defendant’s bail application."

"20/12/2021, a day the police chose to oppress my boss Comrade Oluseun awodele, myself, his driver and Eniola afolabi. We were coming back after inspecting Soul957fm and a newly built hotel at New garage axis of ibadan, there was traffic and we just like every other motorist got caught up in it, while discharging her duty she started hitting the body of Fiban Oyo state Chapter bus with the rod she was holding, the Chairman of Independent and Freelance Broadcasters Association of Nigeria Oyo State Chapter complained about it and she refused to stop, he then came down to talk to her but she chose to assault him instead, she left an indelible mark on his chest.

She then jumped on the driver and his Personal Assistant @Samson Anuoluwapo Balogun who's the publisher of Watchtower MEDIA with thunderous slaps, his Mobile phone was seized and later released but not without cracks on the screen.
The Nigeria Police Force , Oyo State Government, Oyo Insight , OYO Nigeria police , MR. Double O Salt Radio Ibadan should do the needful, the voiceless are suffering in the hands of these half baked officers. It is high time we put an end to oppression in our society. If they can not protect our lives and properties, they shouldn't take it.

A viral video revealed the presence of a big Cobra and four Pussy Cats in an SUV Car.

The snake and the cats were discovered when the owner and his family went to church with the car.

Police have detained a woman known as Tina Ogbonnaya for allegedly seizing and starving a 5-month-old son of her 19-year-old female worker over an unpaid debt.

The 19-year-old woman said that her Madam seized her baby because she was unable to repay her for assisting her with a healthcare bill.
According to Human Right Activist, Harrison Gwamnishu, the mother of the baby, a 19-year-old reached out to him for help after her madam, Tina, seized her baby for months because she was unable to pay back hospital bills she helped her clear when she delivered the baby.
The baby however returned to the mother malnourished and critically ill.

Harrison added that it took the intervention of the Lagos State Social Welfare and police to retrieve the baby from Madam Tina.
Sadly, Chidubem died yesterday, 17th December, 2021 after all efforts to salvage what was left of the malnourished child proved abortive.
Harrison Gwamishu, a Human Rights activyist who is assisting the mother in obtaining justice in this situation, confirmed the woman’s arrest on Instagram.
He wrote, “I’m sharing images of the arrested woman.”
“The face of Madam Tina Ogbonnaya, currently detained at Divisional Police Station Ajah, Lagos State.”
“We commend the Divisional Police Command for their job BUT want the case transferred to Homicide department SCID.”

An unidentified female Army Officer seemed to be in trouble for accepting a marriage proposal from a Corps Member in the public also in Army uniform at the Kwara State Orientation Camp.

The Nigerian Army has allegedly detained the female soldier after video clips of her being proposed to by a male corps Member at the National Youth Service Corps Orientation Camp in Yikpata, Kwara State, went viral on social media.
In one of the video clips, some corps members were seen having a discussion at a venue believed to be the parade ground of the Orientation Camp.
The discussion was still on when the yet-to-be-identified corps member, who is seen holding a ring, went down on one knee and popped the question to the soldier with the lady accepting the proposal.

The Corps Member then went on to insert the ring in the finger of the visibly excited soldier amid cheers from others at the scene.
The soldier could also be seen relishing the moment as she kissed the ring at intervals with smiles etched on her face.
The lovebirds later shared a warm embrace.
In another clip, the corps member was seen wearing the lady’s military cap as she stood directly behind him.
But according to Eons Intelligence, a platform for intelligence gathering and security updates, the female soldier had been detained by the Nigerian Army authorities after the video clip went viral.
The platform noted that a signal by the Army stated that the soldier has been identified and detained at a military detention facility in Ilorin pending further investigations.

“Captain MM Abdulahi, Kwara State NYSC Camp Commandant, in the signal said the female soldier had intentionally isolated herself from other soldiers before the act,” the report read.
A military source, however, said she was detained for not “due for marriage, romancing on uniform publicly, absent on parade, indiscriminate behaviour, doing other things aside from her purpose in NYSC camp, disobedience to standing order of social media rule and disobedience to ethics and tradition of the Nigerian Army.”
When contacted, Spokesperson for the NYSC in Kwara, Oladipo Morakinyo, told SaharaReporters that she wasn’t in position to speak on the issue.

LADY K was arrested with other 11 aides of Igboho into the DSS Custody in Abuja before she was  released after spending 114 days under inhuman treatment.
She came out for the first time to speak about her horrible ordeal from the days she was arrested till when she was released with the assistance of her Lawyer, Pelumi Olajengbesi Esq.
She said she was a single mother of two sons who became a blogger when she discovered the injustices going on against vulnerable youths in the country especially the killings of defenceless youths at Lekki in October 2021.

According to LADY K, she was already asleep in her room when she was woken up by bombardments of live bullets directed in their direction. I was locked up in a room for 114 days with different kinds of tortures. I was fed with rice and beans that are not done, I was given chemical to drink.  They threatened to either kill me or send me to jail.

The threat was so intense to the extent that I started crying telling them to spare my life to take care of my two kids and my aged mother.
But for people who clamoured for our release only God knows what would have happened to me. Since I was released from the dungeon of the DSS my health has been deteriorating due to the ill-treatment I suffered from the chemical I was forced to drink."

Nigeria's Legal Luminary and Human Right Activist, Femi Falana (SAN) has been hired by the family of 12-year-old Sylvester Oromoni who was allegedly beaten to death by his senior colleagues at Dowen College, Lekki, Lagos.

Falana is to prosecute the case against the institution over the unfortunate death of Sylvester.
In the letter dated December 6, 2021, and signed by Taiwo Olawale, the lawyers have written to the office of Lagos State’s Chief Coroner requesting an inquest into the circumstances leading to the death of his client’s child.
The letter titled “Request for Inquest into the Tragic Death of Sylvester Oromoni killed at Dowen College, Lekki, Lagos,” noted that based on the briefings by the family, the late student died as a result of injuries allegedly inflicted on him by his seniors at the school.”

The letter in part reads::

“Given the needless death of Sylvester Oromoni, we are compelled to request you to use your good offices to cause a coroner’s inquest to be conducted into the cause of death of this young and promising boy and make appropriate recommendations pursuant to Section 15 of the Lagos State Coroner’s Law 2007 that states that an inquest shall hold whenever a coroner is informed that the death of a deceased person within his coroner district is as a result of a death in a violent, unnatural or suspicious situation.
We hereby request your Lordship to conduct an inquest into the circumstance surrounding this tragic death and Dowen College: Sylvester Oromoni’s family hire Femi Falana over his death are confident that your Lordship will accede to our request with utmost urgency.”
Meanwhile, a group led by Olumuyiwa Alani Bankole will be holding a peaceful walk on 10th December at 10 am at the Bar Centre, Ikeja to demand justice for the late Sylvester.

The family of late Senator Buruji KASAMU has denied involvement of their son, Michael Adewale Kashamu over the death of Sylvester Oromoni, a 12-year-old student of Dowen College, Lekki, Lagos.

It would be recalled that Sylvester died from internal injuries days before his birthday after being beaten by fellow students in Dowen College.
The deceased, before his death, mentioned some names of boys who assaulted him.
Kashamu’s son was one of the suspects named in the case.
However, the family in a statement issued by Mutairu Kashamu for the family, confirmed that although one of their sons, Michael Adewale Kashamu, was named among the suspected bullies of the deceased, he had no involvement in the death of Sylvester.

Part of the statement read: “The Kashamu family has been inundated with enquiries, calls and messages over the unfortunate incident at Dowen College, Lekki, Lagos, that led to the untimely death of Sylvester Oromoni, a 12-year-old student of the College.
“Most commentators have rushed to conclusions based on assumptions and false information, including the allegation that our son Adewale Michael Kashamu was involved in the bullying or beating of Sylvester Oromoni.”
The family noted that it has conducted its private investigation since the story broke out and their son was just Sylvester’s school father the previous session.
”We as a family have made our own private enquiries and carefully questioned our son about his involvement. This is why we didn’t rush out to respond to the cyber-stalking, name-calling and negative commentaries that have taken over the social media about our son’s alleged involvement in this sad incident.

”Some of the true facts now slowly emerging from under the mass of lies are that: Our son, Adewale Michael Kashamu, had acted as a school father for the late Sylvester in his first session in the school at the request of Sylvester’s sister who is also a student of the school.
“However, in the 2021 session which began in September 2021 Adewale Michael Kashamu was moved to a different floor in the boarding house and engrossed in his own studies and activities, our son was no longer as close to Sylvester as in the previous session.”
The family condoled with the family of Late Sylvester Oromoni and appealed to all and sundry to hold their horses until the police and the Lagos State government have completed their independent investigations and established the truth.
Dowen College has been shut down indefinitely by the Lagos State government till investigation into Sylvester’s death is over.

For security reasons, Sylvester's roommate did not identity himself for fear of attack by the Management because they all knew what actually happened but they deliberately hide the truth. He said they did not play football during the particular week.

The Witness said they were in their room when Favour led five others into their room and took on SLY while they were chased out.  Sly according to him fell from the 'bunk'. After beating him they called them in with a warning while Anslem kicked SLY in the head again.
On Sunday morning, he said SLY could not walk and Seniors came to warm them again and said if anyone ask about what happened they should lie that he played football.
The Witness went further that the Dorm Master knew there was a beating he said he doesn't know why he was lying in the Social Media.  
This statement couldn't have been a cooked up story. It should be investigated if the names mentioned are actually students in the school.

It was alleged by a Facebook narrator that an unidentified LASTMA Lady was on her Duty Post controlling the traffic when some Plain Clothe Policemen inside a bus driving against the traffic hit her while she was trying to stop them. She got her hand wounded in the process, instead of them to take her to the hospital, they threatened to lock her up at Ojuelegba Police Station.

A day to their resumption date,Chidalu came to me and said something.

My Chidalu heaved and went stone cold,he died in my arms.

Middle aged man, simply identified as Perrie, has lamented the death of his cousin, a 12-year-old boy, Sylvester Oromon who was allegedly beaten to death at Dowen College, Lagos State. 
The young man who took to his Twitter handle @Perrisonoromoni alleged that the deceased was beaten to death after he refused to succumb to pressure by fellow students to join a cult.

According to him, the deceased mentioned the names of five persons responsible for the pain before he finally gave up the ghost on Tuesday. 
In a series of tweets, Perrie wrote, “This is my 12 years old cousin that was beaten to death at a school that cost over 1 million naira.
As at the time of filing this report, the school has been shutdown by the Lagos State Government.  Meanwhile, the school management has denied that he was beaten to death rather they said he was wounded
while playing ball. The controversy continues.

A leader of kidnap syndicate, Pastor IzuChukwu Anoloba and others have been arrested by operatives of the Imo State Police Command for kidnapping a Catholic priest, Fr Fidelis Ekemgba.

Parading the suspects and others, the state Commissioner of Police, Rabiu Hussaini, said that the suspects held the priest for over seven days and made him to pay a ransom of N5 million to them.

The CP, who disclosed that the syndicate was a deadly one, disclosed that the pastor was arrested in Lagos following intelligence gathering by men of the anti-kidnapping unit of the command.

Commending his men for an excellent job, the CP said that he would continue to make the state uncomfortable for criminals.

Speaking to journalists, Anoloba said that he got N1.5m from the ransom the priest paid them.

FULL STORY:
This is the wife of Barrister Shedrack Enyi. The events that led to her untimely death is one of the most painful and devastating story ever told.

Her husband as a lawyer manages a three story building here in Abakaliki. One of the tenants (a woman) in the building started poultry farm in the compound as against the tenancy agreement her husband who is an inspector of police signed when they rented the flat. This constituted nuisance due to bad smells it zoos out. This made other tenants to complain severely about it.

Her husband who manages the house called a meeting of all the tenants and it was unanimously agreed that she should shift the pen house for her poultry to another section of the compound so that the smells will stop disturbing co-tenants. The woman accepted the decision reached at the meeting but unknown to the lawyer, she was aggrieved by the order to move the poultry house.

Three days later he was in the compound to sort out the problem they had with their borehole. While there, he got a call from a police officer from the central police station (CPS) that a complaint was made against him by the woman who owns the poultry house. He drove to the station, he was made to write statement and later granted bail after the police exhorted 10k from him upon threats to deal with him by DPO and the IPO for daring to mess with the wife of a police man.
He requested to be given a date for interview when the woman will be around but the police refused, instead they told him he be contacted. Three days later he was called and asked to come for interview. A meeting was fixed by 2pm. He got their some minutes before 2pm and met the IPO who told him to wait for him to pick something across the road. He waited till past 3pm, called the IPO who kept saying he was coming. This dragged on until past 5pm in the evening when he had to go to the DPO office to see him. He shouted him and ordered him out of his office. Vowing to use him as an example to teach other lawyers in the state a lesson.

Considering the manner the DPO and the IPO have treated him, he wrote a letter to the commissioner of police Ebonyi state for the matter to be transferred to the police headquarters. The CP granted his request immediately and he was invited to the headquarters where he equally made a statement. A call was put across by the new IPO at the headquarters to the one at CPS that he should send the case file to the headquarters.

This seemed to have gaslighted his ordeals in the hands of the DPO and the IPO. The IPO tracked him down and told him that the DPO said he should bring him to the station dead or alive. He called the headquarters and informed them what was happening, but the IPO refused to speak with the person.

He was handcuffed and bundled into their van and taken to CPS. Immediately they got there, the DPO ordered for his detention. This was on Saturday 20th November, 2021.

Every plea by him and few lawyers who heard about it and went to CPS for him to be released to them fell on deaf ears as the DPO insisted that he will be detained till Monday morning when he will charge him to court for daring to transfer the matter to the headquarter. He Slept at the station that Saturday. On Sunday 21st November, 2021 his wife, family members and friends came to the station to plead for his release, still the DPO refused.

While still in the cell, in the evening he requested that his phone be given to him to call his family, he was told that the IPO went him with his phone. He asked why the IPO would go home with the phone of suspect in custody, the officers on duty couldn't answer. One of the officers volunteered to call the IPO to bring back his phone to enable him call his wife but this didn't yield any fruit as he vehemently refused to return the phone.

Robbers disguising as Police Officers attacked a Micro Finance Bank, carted away all the cash in the ATM in Ikirun, Headquarters of Ifelodun Local Government Council of Osun State.

Report had it that when they could not force their ways into the bankying Hall, the gunmen attacked their Automated Teller Machine (ATM) and took out all the cash there.
Local sources said the robbers came around 2am yesterday.
A security source told our correspondent that the assailants came in large numbers.

“Armed robbers in their scores invaded the bank dressed in police uniform. One of the local hunters guarding the bank was overpowered and tied while the other escaped to call for reinforcement.
“But before police arrived at the scene, they had already broken into the ATM in the bank and carted away money. They were unable to access the banking hall,” the source said.
Police spokesman Yemisi Opalola confirmed the attack.

New development on the robbery attack at WEMA Bank at Aramoko-Ekiti, Ekiti State revealed that the Policeman killed was not a security officer assigned to the bank. He was gunned down because he was in uniform while going home from his primary place of assignment.

The other man killed was confirmed to be an FRSC Officer who was coming from Kaduna State to Ekiti.
The robbers abandoned the two vehicles they came with to the scene of the robbery attacks.
Ekiti State Commissioner of Police, CP Babatunde Mobayo said the police are on top of the matter, that the robbers can run but cannot hide.

President Joe Biden has therefore urged all Americans not to panic as scientists and public health officials assess the threat of the new OMICRON coronavirus variant, asking Americans to redouble their commitment to measures that could halt the spread of virus
Biden's Monday afternoon update on Omnicron represented the administration's latest attempt to assure Americans that they are moving swiftly to try to contain the spread of the new variant. His first move last week was to announce new US restrictions on travel from South Africa and seven other countries that took effect Monday.
"This variant is a cause for concern, not a cause for panic," Biden said Monday. "We have the best vaccine in the world, the best medicines, the best scientists, and we're learning more every single day."
"We'll fight this variant with scientific and knowledgeable actions and speed -- not chaos and confusion. We have more tools today to fight the variant than we've ever had before, from vaccines to boosters, to vaccines for children, five years and older, and much more."

The President also urged Americans to enahnce their level of protection with booster shots and getting fully vaccinated if they have not done so thus far.
Biden acknowledged that much is still unknown about the transmissibility of the new variant and how effective vaccines will be in protecting Americans against it, but the administration is attempting to strike a more proactive stance than they did this summer when they appeared to be caught flat-footed by the highly contagious Delta variant, which now accounts for the vast majority of cases in the United States -- and blunted Biden's efforts to speed the country back to normalcy in the first year of his term.
In his haste to turn the page from the pandemic, Biden predicted a "summer of freedom" at the same time the Delta variant was taking hold across the United States and went so far as to proclaim that America was "closer than ever to declaring our independence from a deadly virus" at a July Fourth event. With those missteps in mind, Biden huddled with health advisers both Sunday and Monday morning to track the latest developments. He moved rapidly to announce the new travel restrictions Friday after the World Health Organization labeled Omicron a "variant of concern," a signal that the White House was taking the new variant first identified by scientists in South Africa seriously.

The travel bans, however, may offer little comfort to Americans given the widespread debate among public health officials about their effectiveness. Anxiety over this new Covid threat is particularly high after a week of heavy travel and a Thanksgiving holiday that had offered a fleeting sense that the nation was returning to normalcy. On Sunday, Americans set a new pandemic-era air travel record with the Transportation Security Administration reporting that it screened 2.4 million passengers at airports. Overall the TSA said it screened 20.9 million travelers during Thanksgiving week -- about 89% of the level of pre-pandemic travel during that period.
Canadian health officials confirmed the country's first two cases of the Omicron Covid-19 variant in Ottawa on Sunday. Omicron has also been detected in Hong Kong, Australia, Belgium, Italy, the United Kingdom, Germany, Austria, Denmark and Israel.
On Sunday, UK officials announced that face coverings will be mandatory in shops and on public transport, while all travelers returning to the UK will be required to undergo PCR testing for Covid-19.
Scientists are especially concerned about the fact that Omicron has more than 30 mutations in a part of the virus called the spike protein, a structure the coronavirus uses to enter the cells it attacks -- raising fears that that it could evade the protections offered by the vaccines currently available in the United States.
The uncertainty around the new variant has served as yet another setback for Biden and for the Democratic-controlled Congress given that their political success in next year's elections will hinge in part on showing that they have successfully led the nation out of the pandemic.

Biden's poll numbers have slumped amid concerns about the economy, rising inflation and the supply chain crisis -- but the erosion of confidence among Americans about his handling of Covid-19 has been particularly notable given that it was once the area where voters gave him the highest marks.
As he seeks to restore faith in his administration's handling of Covid, Biden's biggest challenge may be the stubborn resistance among the approximately 60 million American adults who remain unvaccinated and the political polarization around the tools at his disposal, including mask and vaccine mandates.
Public health officials expressed fresh urgency Sunday about the need for unvaccinated Americans to get their shots -- and for those who are eligible for booster shots to get them. Dr. Anthony Fauci, the nation's top infectious disease expert, has warned that Omicron could already be present in the United States. On NBC's "Meet The Press" on Sunday, Fauci called the threat of the new variant "a clarion call" for the country to "put aside all of these differences that we have and say if you're not vaccinated, get vaccinated; if you're fully vaccinated, get boosted; and get the children vaccinated."
Dr. Francis Collins, director of the National Institutes of Health, acknowledged that many Americans feel a sense of exhaustion with pandemic mitigation strategies like masking and social distancing, but he said it was time to redouble those efforts and guard against complacency in the face of the new threat.
"We have to use every kind of tool in our toolbox to keep (Omicron) from getting in a situation that makes this worse," he told CNN's Dana Bash on "State of the Union" Sunday, adding that officials are working with vaccine manufacturers to try to assess their effectiveness against the new strain. "There's no reason to panic. But it is a great reason to go get boosted."

Dare devil armed robbers, on Monday attacked an d generation bank in Aramoko-Ekiti in Ekiti State killing a Police and FRSC officers.

The operatives of Ekiti State Police Command has confirmed the obbery attack.
According to the report, the victims were a police officer and a Special Marshall of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) who were shot dead by the bandits during their operation in the community.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Sunday Abutu, while confirming the robbery incident said the deceased were shot outside the bank premises.

Abutu said “It was an attempted robbery, but they were repelled. Even our men and officers of Rapid Response Squad gave them a hot chase and recovered two vehicles they used for the operation.
“The policeman they killed was outside the bank while the FRSC special marshall was also shot at a distance to the bank.
“The police have swung into action and we will make sure that we get to the root of this matter”.

This was the second time the bank would be robbed, having experienced a similar attack in the year 2010.
It was gathered that the bandits gained access to the town via Igede-Ado Ekiti road after working hours.
They reportedly blew off the main door with an explosive mechanism suspected to be dynamite to gain entry into the banking hall.
In their evil operation, they opened fire on the police officer on guard while the Special Marshall, who was in his private vehicle ran into the barricade mounted by the armed robbers to prevent external forces from the axis and was shot in the process.
After the operation, which lasted for close to 30 minutes, the armed robbers escaped through the newly constructed Erijiyan Ikogosi road.
