IkpuMmadu: Lies....I stay in Lagos and my Yoruba friends will shout that Igbo will not get Biafra
Sometimes i keep wondering what's wrong with them
Even we see it on naira land daily
Didn't you see Obasanjo and his utterance on Biafra
Isn't he a Yoruba elder ? Your friends are young people who have time reading comments like the ones we read on nairaland I'm sure... As for OBJ politicians are double faced people... But I'm speaking of just a regular Yoruba man e.g an elderly public Servant... I tell you they don't even care instead they're also tired of the situation of things in the country and would prefer regional governance. Therefore only Yoruba guys who have time reading and reacting to comments on social media have a problem with Biafra. A regular Yoruba man with no political or social media inclination does not have any objection against Igbos self determination. God bless you. |

TVTKOKO: omo iya mi.. It shall be well with you. May your days be long
These guys think we really care about their about their self determination?? There are over 200 tribes in Nigeria and each time anybody oppose their views, they label them yorubas..
If they are really sincere with themselves, they should look inwards amongst themselves because not all of them want this so called biafra. If they were all in full support of secession, i tell you, no force would be able to stop them. There is no unity among them but that is not my business.
If the Yorubas want restructuring TODAY, they will get it! And it has already begun. It's all about unity and sense of purpose which the igbos really lacked. But instead of sitting themselves down to unite for a course, they'll rather come online to insult people who does not share the same opinion as theirs.
There's a thread on frontpage sometimes ago when Ohanaeze asked the igbos to leave the north before September 1..but guess what?? They are all shouting they won't go anywhere. You can see those same set of people on this thread throwing insults upandan but they ain't ready to leave. Amen thanks for the prayers... Let's live carefree and avoid throwing back tantrums... Omoluabi ni wa, won ko fija koowa . Keep living the good life Bro. Have a great day. |

Mcowubaba: Brother, you're an intellectual man.
And about Hate comment and replies, I must confess Igbos are good at it, but we should remember Action and reaction are equal and opposite.
This news for example, will make Igbos lash out on Yorubas, this is the type of thing we are talking about.
Tribalism and Bigotry may have come to stay especially on Nairaland, I don't think the moderators are really interested in curbing this, it generates traffic and traffic generates Income for the owner of this site. At the end of the day, it's business.
Even some small blogs and groups on social media have started putting up sensational news that will stir up tribal wars, so the can get massive views and traffic, hereby increasing their revenue, and as usual the Gullible youths are falling for it.. The truth of the whole matter is that, nobody should be happy with Nigeria the way it is, that's what makes me mad when I see some Yorubas supporting this Government. This is not about APC or PDP, I am non partisan, I just need things to be better Bro I must say I'm impressed at the way you see things beyond tribal or political affiliations... Keep the good free spirit up Bro... Correct gee. Thumbs up. |

MENELIK1: Oga, the Yorubas hardly give Osus attention because they are not affected by the activities of these slaves but of late the way they are ignored is fast making them to think it's cowardice that is why you see negative comments coming from Yorubas to the Osus whether provoked or not. You can imagine cownu issuing hate speeches towards the Yorubas as if that is the only tribe in Nigeria and wonder the connection of Yorubas with the actualisation of the Land of the rising crime. The Osus have congenital hatred for the Omoluabis because of the lies of their ancestors and the Omoluabis should also take on them as well in order to balance hatred. You cam give hate and expect love, it doesn't work that way. I get wetin you dey talk (The Golden Rule) but still fash all those things abeg na how person dey show say hin no send be that. Remember a question without an answer is useless so let's encourage our guys to let go... Yoruba a gbewa... Gbayi my Bro. |

Mcowubaba: Aptly written. Because it is the activities of Yorubas like this, makes some Igbo people get antagonistic towards them.
Personally I don't even fully support the ideologies of this recent agitation and Biafra, but I see the energy some Yorubas put into opposing the struggle, then I wonder what exactly is their problem, because the are even more concerned about Biafra than Igbos.
I'm Igbo, but some Yorubas I know talk more about Biafra than me, the are virtually in all social media opposing IPOB I wonder why most Yorubas are so happy with the situation in Nigeria, can't you guys demand for better Government for your region, instead of trolling Igbos.
I hope other Yoruba people will key into your mindset
I tell you... The problem is most of them just lamely follow the bigotry trend on nairaland... I tell you as a Yoruba guy that among older folks who have no business reading tribal comments online... They prefer regional governance and worse case scenario a separation... It just amazes me how a whole lot got dragged into online tribal wars started an insignificant minority.... Truth is a Yoruba man has no business worrying about Biafra... I must admit that I appreciate our differences as tribes therefore would prefer Restructuring but if Biafra happens today then so be it, Yorubas would also have to seceed... So anytime on nairaland I see my fellow Omoluabis engaging themselves in what does not concern them I'm always confused because outside of nairaland no one cares. To all Igbo guys out there no need replying hate speeches in like manner instead just ignore because outside of nairaland we Yorubas have no problem with a tribe's self determination. GOD BLESS. |

If the federal government does not want secession for any tribe then they should grant a referendum... How has anything Kanu said or done affected any South westerner... Kockane: I don't totally agree with you. I am from Egbe, Kogi state and grew up in Ilorin. Grew up thinking Ilorin was Yorubaland, which it is. People from places like Offa, Erinle, Shao, Oro, etc don't see themselves as northerners. Yorubas first, kwarans next, but definitely not northerners.
As for those in Kogi, identity crisis, infighting, and lack of unity of purpose got them to be lumped together with strange people in a strange land. Akure and Ekiti used to be under the old Kabba province, how we ended up in present day Kogi state is still beyond me. what you said about Kwara is true sha I think the main problem is Ilorin been the capital, people see Kwara from the view of Ilorin forgetting other towns and that's what I just did....but really kwarans should demand for an inclusion in whatever affects Yorubas and also bring up actions to put a stop to the pseudo prominence "some" Ilorin people attribute to Sokoto. As for Kogi Yorubas I'm as confused as you Bro. |

Kockane: The Yoruba nation goes beyond the six South West states. What happens to those in Kwara and Kogi?
The Yoruba man in Ijebu or Ibadan is equal to one in Offa, Ilorin or Kabba. This move is isolationist. True but the problem is the majority in Kwara prefer to be classified as Northerners by virtue of religion... It's just the minority that are at a loss. As for Kogi I don't really know probably they should meet with Yoruba community leaders in places like Kabba. |

This guy is speaking about what he does not know... Ibadan is a very large city with a lot of rural areas but also much more developed urban areas... So he should stop all these derogatory comments because they're not true(guys who stay in Ibadan know this)... This should really not be coming from a fellow tribe man.. Is he trying to bring Ibadan down or what?... Though we have a not so functioning governor at the moment but does not mean Ibadan is dead.... A lot of times and even in school I hear guys who have never stepped foot in Ibadan commenting negatively about it then I ask them have you ever been to Ibadan and most of them say no... At the end of the day I discover their points are based on what they read or saw on social media posted by some hater... Really for those who still hold the view that Ibadan is a slum, stop believing the social media representation and take time out to visit yourself. kaymart: why should I trust you when I know you don't know what u should know.
Uniben is far better than convenant university and such anomaly in first class will never take place there, just like it wouldn't in OAU, UI , ABU and other supposedly top higher citadel of knowledge in the country....
First class isn't only overrated, it's becoming stale, boring and at times useless. No trust me Bro it's not like it's an impossible feat in conventional universities just that what I keep saying is most students are always being subjected to wrong learning conditions e. g when a lecturer comes to class and gives handout alone it makes it difficult for students with not so high level of comprehension to pass such a course... It's high time we stopped seeing the hardship in conventional schools as normal instead it should be treated as an abuse of educational rights... I Don't want you to doubt the quality of these graduates because I can tell you they went through deep training both in theory andpa practical. It should actually be a good thing ourplll) public universities should embrace... Just take time out to visit Covenant University one day and you we see things I write here are not just lies... Really our educational system is limiting our students that's why I have friends in public universities who in secondary school were so smart but now schooling is getting frustrating which should not be. Also the thing is we have a lot of adjunct lecturers just they how they work is closely supervised almost a students who came to school with the mind of not taking their academics seriously are forced to be in class at least 75% so most of them end up turning out well... The same thing is so possible in public universities just that the monitoring is not as tight as in private universities instead some students take being in the University as freedom and end up losing focus combined with the unnecessary hardships they face which just downs the morale of some students. |

Johnnyessence: you can't be defending your school and not saying the truth. Besides this schools are christian schools. As it stand it is money money. Once you have your money you are good to go. Grades aren't difficult to get. Why can't you ask your lecturers which school they came from. I never said we don't have lecturers from public schools since LMU is just six years... I believe there is no crime in having adjunct lecturers so far we get quality education which is better than not employing them and getting an education which is not up to standard... If they came from public universities they would still deliver what they offer to their students in their schools too just that monitoring is at it's peak and each lecturer is made to work the worth of his /her pay which I believe would benefit the students... And about paying there is no school in Nigeria where you won't find corrupt lecturers doing such just that in LMU what I know is a lecturer doing such is on his/her own because you can walk up straight to the management and report any case of extortion. There have been a case like that before if you know anybody in 2013/2014 set engineering ask about GEC310 lecturer. Also if things were right having a lot of first class students won't be a strange thing since we have a lot of intelligent students. We should never allow ourselves to be subjected to the idea that it's normal for a lecturer to come to class and just give handouts and never come again throughout the semester... It's so wrong it's an abuse of our educational rights which should be protested against and not taken as a norm. |

Johnnyessence: stop hyping CU and LMU here their management employed public university lecturers to teach their students. I could remember landmark university in Omu Aran na unilorin lecturers full that place doing part time teaching. All these CU and LMU is money. Once you have the money you are good to go with good grades. Surely they have to employ adjunct lecturers for a start... I'm not hyping them I'm talking about them because I'm a student there and I know getting grades with money is very very difficult. Though since LMU now has a lot of permanent resident lecturers. What most people think is that money is all it takes for all private universities but it's actually not. |

Name the private university graduates they retain to lecture hmm. It is only public universities lecturers they can employ. yeah most private schools are still young but schools like Covenant that are up to 15years have some of their graduates as lecturers already in the school and other schools. I'm not condemning public schools ooo I'm just explaining that to those complaining about the quality of the degree that with the right conditions things like this can happen in our conventional universities too. |

They feel they cant meet up. whether or not, we have set a standard, changed the status quo. They should enjoy their ill-literate lecturers too who only derive joy in giving marks to their grandmothers.
Dnt reply anybody's stupidy about CU again, please. It shouldnt happen. I get you just that I find it difficult not to defend what I know is right...
