andrewza: Since when has populastion been so importanted. You do know how mach negtive inpact a large poulstion can be.

China knows this. Hence the one child poliece.
it depends on how you use it.
China's population is both a blessing and a curse, but more of a blessing.
The population is majorly responsible for the rate of investments in china and their rise as a world power.
And as americans will tell you, their greatest strength is their people.

DictatorZAR: I really like it when Nigerians continuesly dream that they are the only african country that's growing and receiving FDI I don't blame them because that is what Nigeria's media is feeding them, the same way I blame some naïve South Africans about the same issues about what's going on around Africa beside SA and Nigeria.
http://www.theeastafrican.co.ke/business/Kenya-ranked-among-top-FDI-destinations-in-Africa/-/2560/1628028/-/rpvmgrv/-/index.html

The two biggest economies in africa should stop deceiving themselves.
your link is not working.
Though i agree with you that kenya is a good investment destination, but most of the investments there are tourism related.
In as much as i would always welcome tourism related investments,i prefer investments in manufacturing, minerals, agriculture and power.

andrewza: s

Thanks to your oil. But they have found large amounts of oil and populastion in SA now. And if you check who the investors are you will see a lot of them are south african. And sa still has by far a higher GDP per capita stronger econmy and better ballanced economy.
What oil?
Foreign investment are focusing on non-oil sectors,as Nigeria is trying to depart from oil-dependency.
Most of the investments are focused in mineral, power and Agricultural sectors.
Foreign companies in southafrica are even moving to Nigeria.
Nigeria is where the money is,as we guarantee you the highest return on investments in Africa.
Other african countries are just entrying the oil industry, while Nigeria is already moving away from it.

DictatorZAR: -South Africa's rating is BBB stable

-Nigeria rating is BB- stable

http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_credit_rating

Anything below BBB- rating is considered a speculative or junk rating bond.tongue

(BB- to D are none investment grades).

This shows even though SA has a higher goverment debt rating due to SA's R3tillion infrastructure investment program by state owned companies, SA's credit rating is still higher than Nigeria who has a higher GDP growth rate.

http://nationsonline.org/oneworld/country-goverment-grossept.htm
All these ratings dosen't matter,as far as am concerned,as they are often biased in nature.
Nigeria is the highest reciepients of foreign investment in Africa, and also with the highest GDP growth rate.
That is what matters.

lekanwj: GEJ has teribble advisers. the fixing of the visit was deliberate to scuttle the convention that has been scheduled for a long time. the mumu self no go think before he takes advise . instead of him to look for ways to deliver on his promises like ACN governors are doing he is busy playing politics with his time. I pity this country with the quality of leaders we have.
you are a clown.
So you want GEJ to delay the commissioning of a critical FG supported private investment, because of an ordinary convention?
You want GEJ to delay investors from making their money, while people like you will keep decrying the high rate of unemployment.
Smh vigorously.

Abrantie: No. If you know anything about statistics, the probability of that being the case is extremely low.

If FIFA's formula is good enough to catch an average of 3 players out of 24, and assuming Ghana did have at least 3 bad players, what are the chances that all 3 Ghana players were missed while other country's bad players were found?
stop saying thrash.
Since MRI which is the best device we have now is 65% correct, then there is an unavoidable possibility of more than 3 ghanian players being overaged.
You were beaten fair and square, accept it.

Those comparing GEJ to NOI should give it a rest.
It's not compulsory that a president should be the most intelligent or outspoken in a govt.
That is why technocrats are employed to add value to the country, and Dr NOI is one of those technocrats.
Is Obama the most intelligent in his govt.?

Politics › Re: Zuma Visits Nigeria To Mend Bridges by solomon111(m): 10:48am On Apr 16, 2013
Tolexander: no Mr Solomon. They are just trying to find a link between Boko haram and al aquaeda which no one has ascertained.

The major contributor to nigerian economy is the oil which is majorly in the niger delta. The activities of the niger delta militants is kidnapping adultnapping of the foreign oil staffs which had a very drastic effect on the nigerian oil output.
yes, they is no evidence yet of alquaeda involvement with bokoharam, but you can't rule that out given the scale and sophistication of their attacks.
And unless we want to deceive ourselves,we will agree that Mend is a child's play when compared to bokoharam.
Afterall, human life cannot be compared to oil revenues.
Politics › Re: Zuma Visits Nigeria To Mend Bridges by solomon111(m): 8:42am On Apr 16, 2013
Tolexander: so boko haram menace is worse than the civil war of 1967-1970?
what about the niger delta militant group OBJ had? You think had he not dealt with the militant issue like that, their menace wouldn't have escalated more than this we are experiencing?
sorry,you are right.
Nigeria is currently undergoing the second greatest insurgency in its history.
As for your second point;
there is no way you can compare Mend with bokoharam.
The scale and form of attack were vastly different.
Bokoharam are terrorists with international link to alquaeda,MEND are a localized group of 'freedom fighters'.
Politics › Re: Zuma Visits Nigeria To Mend Bridges by solomon111(m): 12:46am On Apr 16, 2013
I disagree with the article in respect to the mali situation.
The Nigerian army have not been relegated to the background, the move was purely tactical.
Btw we can't compare the foreign policy of OBJ with GEJ,without taking one salient fact into consideration.
Nigeria is currently facing the worst internal insurgence in its history.
You don't expect GEJ to focus its military in
foreign lands when we have myriads of terrorist attacks back home to counter.
OBJ never had bokoharam insurgence during his tenure,so the military were not distracted by internal insurgence ,which is why they were able to fully focus and forcefully exert themselves in peace enforcing /peace keeping.

snydergp: The same thing applies to the US/UK/S. Korea and others.

Does Nigeria have aluminum smelter's to even start building engines for foreign owned companies.

This is a global village we live in countries invest where there's stable power supply and skilled labor force, there's also no such thing as holy owned EU/US companies anymore because even lower middle class people through there pension funds all over the world invest in those companies, so your claim holds no relevance in a global context unless you live in a communist state.

The day when Nigeria exports 2m cars nomatter the origin of there Trademark is the day you can call others frauds.
Innoson motors(IVM),a Nigerian car manufacturing company, already exports cars, trucks and refuse disposing vans to some west african countries like ghana.
They fabricate all the parts of their cars, except the engines which they import from japan.
which is why the cars bear their brand name IVM(innoson vehicle manufacturers).
And it is only a matter of time before they start manufacturing their own engines.
The facts are online,if you wish to verify.

Pakistan is fighting serious internal terrorism without even making serious headway, yet it is nuclear state.
So i don't see why Nigeria inspite of bokoharam(which is a temporary security problem) cannot acquire Nuclear technology.
Btw Nigeria has hundreds of nuclear scientists and atomic physicists of Nigerian descent working in almost every nuclear armed state around the world.
I can assure you that the day Nigeria becomes truely desperate for Nuclear weapons, tech transfer would be the least of our problems.
The REAL problem would be how to convince america to look the other way.
We may have to bribe america by granting them permission to build a military base in Nigeria, which they've really wanted for a long time.
