Now we all strongly agree that we need Vincent Enyeama back as a matter of fact. NFF must swallow their pride & beg him to come back. Dele Alampasu & Ajiboye should have also being invited. |

Joebie: I've always made the argument that there is no such thing as natural position. While the AM may be Iwobi's preferred position he still has to contend with other players who can probably play better than him there at his club. So decisions like these are made in the interest of the team, not playing every player in their preferred position. As regards the way SE is set up, with Mikel in the bench, Iwobi is the best for AM. The pitch really affected our play yesterday. Iwobi's style depends heavily on a smooth pitch because his ground key passes needs that. I noticed that one cross that he failed to connect with Nwakaeme, the ball actually was rolling and then took a quick bounce as soon as he attempted the pass. I agree with you. Iwobi is also becoming fat that he can't run at times and make necessary tackles & was sluggish. Was the bad pitch also responsible for that? |

I ENJOY BEING ARSENAL'S NO. 10, SAYS ALEX IWOBI Tolu Olasoji
The Nigeria international is pleased with his role in Wenger's squad, while hoping the Blues slip up in the English toplight title race Alex Iwobi has revealed that he enjoys playing in the no. 10 position for Arsenal. With Mesut Ozil, absent through illness in the Gunner’s 2-0 English Premier League win over Crystal Palace, the 20-year-old was moved to the central attacking midfielder position. And repaid Arsene Wenger’s faith by sealing the victory with his second league goal of the season. The Nigeria international who spent his youth days playing behind the striker said he prefers featuring in the much-coveted position and keeps learning to be at his best in that area.
"It (No. 10) is where I have grown up playing and where I enjoy playing the most but wherever I am put on the pitch, I will do my best and whenever I get told to play any position I give 100 per cent,” Iwobi told Evening Standard. "There are a lot of players who can play No.10; a lot of ball players in the team. Every day in training I am always learning and trying to add it to my game."
Asked about his plans and expectations for the new year, the midfielder said: "I haven't looked that far ahead. "I concentrate on every game and taking it game by game. I don't know, I just have to wait and see. "On the team's behalf we are focusing more on ourselves and our performance. "Hopefully if Chelsea slip up, they slip up but we have to make sure we win to keep up the title race. The games are coming thick and fast; we just have to prepare the same.
"We have got the momentum, we are confident now and hopefully we can keep up our winning streak. I'm just trying to do the best I can. "If the team does well that is the main thing,” he concluded.
--goal This is enough reason to play Iwobi in the 10 role and not Etebo who struggled last night. Same thing is Iheanacho playing supporting striker not winger. |

Icon79: Iheanacho and Iwobi were played in the wrong positions, so they can be excused. Ezenwa showed his weakness today. I think the search for goalkeeper continues .... Nwakaeme is not an Eagles material. I would be surprised if he gets invited back
Leon Balogun has his absolute worst game in the super eagles jersey today. So why were you impressed with him? I think the face mask impacted his game and probably the captain's armband as well. Some players just don't play very well when given the added burden of the captain's armband - examples: Harry Kane and Neymar.
O pari I know Ekong covered up for Balogun no thanks to his injury. But I think the back 4 complemented for each other well. They all covered up for themselves. Check out the classy play if Aina & Shehu. I think 2 and 3 have been covered. And if Brian Idowu joins up with the eagles in Russia, then Echiejile may face stiff competition. Ezenwa is -1. His shakara was too much. Yet he was caught many times in no man's land. Rohr has not studied our boys well. Poor technical input tonight |

However, I was impressed with the 4 man back line is Aina, Shehu, Balogun & Ekong did well.

terzurum5: Former Super Eagles Star Emenalo Quits Chelsea, Set For Monaco
https://i2.wp.com/www.completesportsnigeria.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/Michael-Emenalo.jpg?fit=600%2C400&ssl=1
Former Nigeria defender Michael Emenalo has resigned from his position as technical director at Chelsea.
According to a report on the Telegraph, Emenalo quit after declining not to engage in a three-way power battle with current Chelsea manager Antonio Conte and Marina Granovskaia who are known not to see eye to eye.
The former Nigerian international, who was in the Super Eagles squad for the USA ’94 World Cup, could assume a position at AS Monaco.
Emenalo joined Chelsea in 2007 as an assistant under Avram Grant and he also worked as an opposition scout and assistant first-team coach under Carlo Ancelotti, replacing Ray Wilkins when he was sacked.
With Emenalo as Chelsea’s technical director, the 1994 World Cup star helped Chelsea win three Premier League titles, the FA Cup, the League Cup, the Europa League and the Champions League.

Poland Portugal Russia
But trust FIFA to put us in the group of death, especially if we find ourselves in pot 3. Don't be surprised if we get this grouping:
Brazil Italy Korea Republic Nigeria
or you can get:
Germany Uruguay Mexico Nigeria
All I know is that if FIFA goes through to form, Nigeria should be in the group of death. Since I started following soccer, the strongest African teams almost always end up in the group of death. FIFA knows what they are doing.
