Nobody is talking of the Falconets. The U20 world cup holds in August. Maybe when Falcons qualify for AWC 2018, then we will take the Falconets seriously.

AWCON Qualifier, Gambia 0-1 Nigeria

 June 7, 2018 GFF

Gambia missed out to Nigeria one nil at the first leg of the second and final round of Africa Women’s Cup of Nations Qualifier played on Wednesday June 6th in Banjul.

Super Falcons Okoron Kwoamarachi put up a thunderous shot that passed away into the middle roof of Gambia’s goal keeper Aminata Gaye despite her spreading of arms to thwart the danger opening good display of possession between the two sides

Nigeria Coach Dennerby Thomas Lennart said ‘ its always important to win away games but could have scored more goals and complete the job here’. He commended his team for not conceding a goal and praised the Super Falcons for their good performance. ‘ We should have played much better than this today. But we will be a little bit collective next time’.

Gambia Coach Mariama Bom Sowe said her girls played beyond expectation. ‘ Nigeria is a big footballing nation. I have made a promise to my country that we will win at home. Unfortunately we lost but the girls played very well and you see that we contained them as well’. She said the physicality of the Super Falcons have also disturbed the Gambian girls. ‘ But i will continue to encourage them and let the fans continue to support us’.

The Gambia will play return to Nigeria on Monday 11th June in Lagos and the winner will qualify to the 11th edition of the AWCON Tournament in Ghana 2018.
Coach Dennerby should ensure we qualify come Monday 11th June. No mess up. What of Rita Chikwelu? Has she retired?

I pray that Ola Aina and Mikel Agu do not turn their backs on Nigeria after the world cup. I believe the NFF may have promised Aina a world cup place & now he may feel disappointed. But the truth is that some players were never tested or some were not really tested eg. Junior Lokosa, Uche Agbo, Kelechi Nwakali, Umar Mohammed etc. They just need to all be patient. Simy, Joel Obi, Awaziem, Idowu, Uzoho were really lucky.

I PRAY THAT;
1. Simmy Nwankwo does not turn out to be one Barthelomew Ogbeche we saw during Japan/ Korea 2002 who deceived Baba Onigbinde by an acrobatic freekick in a friendly game only for later at the world to fumble when we needed him the most.
2. No more Super Eagle player get injured before, during and after the world cup. Just think how Moses Simon will be feeling now.
3. The best players were not dropped and the mediocres selected because the formers' C.Vs were not rich enough. Hope we dont later regret why we didnt take Lokosa, Ajiboye, Kelechi Nwakali, Samuel Kalu, Henry Onyekuru, Kayode Olarewaju etc.
4. Super Eagles visit to Aso rock will usher in the TRANSFORMATION... Sorry (beg your pardon), CHANGE we need for the good of Nigerian football.
5. Super Eagles get to the Semi finals of the World cup. Nothing is impossible.
6. Mikel Agu is dropped and that Rohr makes up is mind on who to drop between Ola Aina and Chidozie Awaziem
7. NFF will not make Russia 2018 a jamboree affair and that players will be paid promptly
8. Amaju Pinnick will be elected back into office in November. He's done so well.
9. If Super Eagles do well at Russia 2018, Bubu will not embarass them with only a presidential handshake.
GOD BLESS ROHR
GOD BLESS SUPER EAGLES
GOD BLESS NIGERIA

There is no need to cry over split milk. The coach has selected and that is it, we can not add but he can subtract from the list. I don't understand why some of us are still talking about players that are not on the list. Lets go out there and support our team, good or bad. Up Eagles.

Aina is not Babayaro, and this is not 10 years ago, this guy has footballer sense and I think he will complement our midfielders and forward players well. Positives, he can give us the long throw advantage, he has height, can actually play midfield, hence a wing back.
Exactly my point

Nigeria's World Cup squad: Who's in, who's out?
DAMI UGBANE, KWESÉESPN
4:08 PM

After Nigeria's 1-1 draw with the Democratic Republic of Congo on Monday, KweséESPN run the rule over the Super Eagles' likely World Cup squad.

Goalkeepers: For a third game in a row, Francis Uzoho started in goal, earning his fourth Nigeria cap.

The Deportivo La Coruna shot stopper looked assured, which was an improvement on his performance in the March friendlies.

Based on the Eagles' line-up in the last three friendlies, Uzoho looks to have earned the nod and trust of the coaching crew to be the starting goalkeeper at the World Cup.

Who plays backup? Ikechukwu Ezenwa and Daniel Akpeyi, barring any last-minute injuries, should make the team to Russia.

The pair have earned consistent invites over the last two years under Gernot Rohr, and their experience should also count for something.

Who misses out? Dele Ajiboye, an excellent goalkeeper on his day, will likely get the chop.

Despite an eye-catching performance against Sudan in the semi final of the African Nations Championship, his inability to upstage Ezenwa as the home-based Eagles' number one might ultimately have cost him.

Defenders: One of the easier selections to make based on the team's line-up in recent games. Rohr appears to want two specialists for each position, so Nigeria are likely to take eight defenders to Russia.

The usual suspects Leon Balogun, William Troost-Ekong, Shehu Abdullahi and Elderson Echiejile realistically appear set to be Nigeria's starting defence against Croatia.

Kenneth Omeruo, who has being in good form with Kasimpasa, came off the bench against the DRC and he still awaits his first international start since March 2017.

Like Joseph Yobo four years ago, Omeruo's spot in the squad isn't secure, but his international experience should see him on the plane, particularly considering that Balogun is prone to injury.

Chidozie Awaziem, Brian Idowu and Tyronne Ebuehi should complete the defensive unit.

The new Benfica right-back, in particular, has gradually come into his element, impressively settling down in the international setup.

Hopefully, Ebuehi should shake off the cramp which led to his substitution against Congo and feature in his first World Cup.

Who misses out? Stephen Eze, who was a late call-up to the team, should miss out, and hasn't yet featured under Rohr.

Ola Aina didn't help his case for an inclusion in the World Cup party on Monday. The Chelsea man was unnecessarily casual on the day, careless in possession, and gave away a needless foul which resulted in a penalty.

Could he have lost out to Idowu, who is more business-like in his approach and also offers versatility.

Midfielders: Captain John Obi Mikel is a certainty, and the Tianjin TEDA man should be joined by vice-captain Ogenyi Onazi, Wilfred Ndidi, Oghenekaro Etebo, John Ogu, Joel Obi and Mikel Agu.

However, Obi and Agu might find themselves competing for a final spot, depending on how many forwards Rohr wants to take to Russia.

Who misses out? For whatever reason, Uche Agbo is yet to add to his solitary international cap earned against Togo 11 months ago, despite being in the team consistently since October 2016.

Forwards: Odion Ighalo, Victor Moses, Alex Iwobi, Kelechi Iheanacho and Ahmed Musa are comfortably the men expected to lead the goalcharge in Russia.

New boys Simy Nwankwo and Junior Lokosa both had impressive debuts against Congo, and might not necessarily be in direct competition for a single spot, due to their individual qualities.

The Crotone man appeared to have sealed his place in the final 23 as he stands out with his unique playing style, while Rohr's decision to play Lokosa in a wide role suggests that he could be a contender to replace the injured Moses Simon.

Who misses out? Simon would have been in contention for a starting role had he been fit, but injury has denied him the chance to appear in a maiden major tournament.

Ola Aina is more versatile in defense than Chidozie Awaziem. Remember Awaziem's school boy mistakes against South Africa. Ola Aina can play well in several positions. Joel Obi & Junior Lokosa should compete for one spot. Drop Uche Agbo & Mikel Agu.

Oasis007:
Apparently Eze, Lokosa and Ajiboye have slim chances respectively of making the List, but anything can happen still. I can't rule them out completely yet, coz I ain't part of the Coaching Crew.

Whoever makes the List is fine by me. All I wanna see is my darling Eagles soaring higher in Russia.
So where is all this news coming from? If Lokosa has being dropped, then its unfortunate.

LESSONS TO NIGERIA FROM THE UCL FINAL 2018
1. Super Eagles should play safe during these friendlies and trainings. No injury please
2. Rohr should check our goal keeping department again and again against immature and school boys mistakes
3. Watch that boy Luka Modric from Croatia. He is a threat.
4. Watch out for game changers like Gareth Bale.

A new word has emerged in the Oxford Learners' Dictionary. 'Karius'.
Karius means stupid mistake and betraying mistake.
Example: I reject the spirit of Karius in the lives of Uzoho, Ezenwa and Akpeyi in the 2018 FIFA WORLD CUP.

Congratulations we made it. Now we face Mauritania who eliminated Morocco and Guinea. But I think the coach's hands are full with Enyimba in the league and Confederations cup coupled with the Flying Eagles assignment. Will he be able to build this team and achive great success? Cant someone else do the job? Also, I think we need more foriegn pros in the team. The European league is almost over.
