Eating the fruit was a good thing. It helped us develop wisdom and civilization. The original plan was for us to remain naked primitive hunter gatherers for ever. We made the choice to be what we are today. So no one of the three is to blame. There are sacrifices to make for every choice you know. |

Italiano1: Why would a man decide to run away from his responsibilities when faced with challenges? This is very unfortunate to say the least, may God help this woman and her kids.So how much are you donating? I am happy to adopt one of the children as a way to assist the couple. |
Oj_redifined.:We do not feel the rotation of the earth because of the fact that there are no nearby objects to pass by like the buildings on the roadside when you are in a car. The nearest objects are the moon, sun, planets and stars. Also our size relative to the earth is too small. It's like an ant on your car's dashboard. Gravity also helps reduce chance of being flung off. If the earth were to suddenly stop its speed of rotation about 1000km per hour, oops!!! The earth's speed of revolving round the sun is about 66,671 miles per hour. Imagine holding brakes suddenly!!! |

Many so called relics of the church have been proven to be fake and forged eg the shroud of Turin believed to be burial cloth of Jesus with his face image imprinted on it. It was proven to have been made in about 14th century by a primitive pinhole camera; the thumb bone of St. Paul; letter from Mary the mother of Jesus writing from heaven. ![]() It was customary in medieval Europe to forge these relics to make money, deify the church, increase membership and awe. There are good grounds in support of the idea that Jesus and his 12 disciples could have been fictional characters concorted by some clever religious men. The four gospels were selected from a pool of almost 200 to ensure no Gnosticism was allowed in their canon, and those gospels expressing support for more teaching roles for women were expunged eg the gospel of Mary, the female disciple of Christ who had an apocalyptic vision of Christ that made Peter envious and express misogynistic views. Thus the bible is not a collection of historical writings but theological works composed of wise sayings, myths and philosophical and theological ideologies over the ages that the church finds useful in its mission and agenda- like a library. And this is the right way to understand these bible books and church relics. If they help you in your spiritual life and emotional well being that's good. If you find them weird, spooky, unreal and too mind bugling, you need not bother with them. |
The bible is a collection of coverless books, most of which we're authored by unknown persons and no titles to the books. The books included in the so called canon, were the ones that met the agenda and beliefs of the catholic and Protestant churches. Simple. Now to the topic. How did the Catholic Church know that the bones in their care are really those of St. Peter? Was the first bishop of Rome really the St. Peter of the gospels? |

baby_123: I feel her pain. Imagine her dressing up and entering convoy only to see 50 or more picantos along the way. Tell me is that not enough to drive anyone insane? It's like the man is keeping track of his conquests with picanto. How horrible especially because it is an open secret in the state. That is some serious mental and emotional trauma on the wife. This baba picanto. It's like he is a major shareholder with Kia. Very bad man. Rotflmao...and all these are paid for with taxpayers money, our money!! |
It's likely that pressure from the gov and Clara's brother had encouraged her to remain in the relationship. All she was asking for was love, the right to good treatment and her freedom and liberty. With good treatment and marriage counseling the marriage can still be saved for now. Chime now knows he is NOT so mighty, that even a simple lady like Clara can deal with him legally. I think Clara had earned his respect and the respect of the reasonable people of Nigeria. |

dasparrow: You mean you want Genny to join the association of miserable, oppressed, married Nigerian women? What for? Don't you see them in the family section looking for ways to get out of the bondage they have found themselves in and you want beautiful Genny to be part of them? God forbid. Besides, Genny does not need to worry about her biological clock. She already has a biological daughter and she can always adopt a second child if she so desires. After all, pikin na pikin. There are Nigerian married women out there who have not been able to give birth to even 1 biological child. They are still expecting God to bless them with the 'fruit of the womb.' So let Genny be.Good post! A good example is mrs Clara Chime |

Read it and weep. So sad! NHRC writes Gov Chime, demands access to wife News Thursday, November 7, 2013 By Ikechukwu Nnochiri ABUJA – Sequel to a petition that was sent to it by wife of Governor Sullivan Chime of Enugu State, Clara, alleging that she had been illegally confined to a house arrest by her husband, the National Human Rights Commission, NHRC, yesterday, wrote a letter to the Governor, requesting to have an audience with his wife. According to the Director of Information and Communication at the Commission, Mr Muhammed Nasir Ladan, the right body, has commenced investigation into the petition, and would want to hear from all the concerned parties. He said: “The NHRC has commenced investigation into the complaint received from Mrs Clara Chime and has requested Governor Chime to grant the Commission access to the complainant." It will be recalled that the Enugu State First Lady, advanced her quest for freedom from alleged illegal house arrest, by petitioning the Commission, begging it to come to her aid. Already, Lagos based human rights lawyer and Senior Advocate of Nigeria, SAN, Mr Femi Falana, has equally petitioned the Inspector General of Police, asking for the intensification of efforts towards securing the release of the Governor's wife. In her letter to the NHRC, Mrs. Chime, described her relationship with her husband as "abusive", saying it had led her into depression. Whereas they have been married for five years, Clara said their relationship had broken down irretrievably in the past couple of years. "We do not have a relationship anymore and the situation inevitably led to my nervous breakdown. I have been diagnosed with severe depression and at some point was quite suicidal." Alleging that she was subjected "to the most horrific and intolerable of conditions to cause my demise," Clara, enumerated the major issues to include: lack of sexual relationship with her husband for four years; being deprived of responsibilities as a wife; being prevented from bonding with her four-year-old son; and being barred me from receiving visitors, whether family or friends. She revealed that three weeks ago, a lady friend who visited her was stopped from seeing her; saying had been confined to a complete incarceration from the outside world. "In effect, I am locked up in my bedroom, without access to anybody," she pleaded. According to the letter, "I am only allowed food but no access to fresh air; I have been locked up because I demanded to leave, even without my son. Governor Chime recently revoked my land allocation; the governor is doing everything possible to break my will." She told the commission that her desire is simply to be allowed to leave. "If I have committed any crime, I request that due process should be followed. I was also recently attacked by my husband before the visitor mentioned above who is a living witness and will be prepared to testify." She also accused Governor Chime of paying a doctor to inject her with all sorts of drugs, and that she is sometimes restrained and forced to take the drugs. "I would also wish the Nigerian Medical Council be informed of the activity of this doctor who is only interested in my husband's wishes and does not care about my suffering. Medical confidentiality is not part of this doctor's tool," she wrote. Stressing that she has no intention of taking her own life, she warned that should she die, it must be clear that it must have been brought about her husband. "The possibility of the doctor injecting me with a lethal substance must never be underestimated. I have a friend who is a good friend of the family and would collaborate a lot in the event of any mishap to me and wish not to mention the name but he would contact you ultimately” she added. centje: Most people posting here dont know what it entails to have mental issues. Chime never denied restriction of his wife...that will tell u how honest he is...now, a mentaly ill person with POOR INSIGHT can perceive such restriction differently. Typical politician will deny having any form of restriction on his wife. His stance is that he didnt even restrict adequately as prescribed...he allowed her access to laptops and phone. politicians and 'his fellow barrister' should respect his privacy. But mentally ill patients have rights too! The restrictions are only legally permitted in an approved psychiatric public hospital or prison after assessment by psychiatrist or qualified medic. Clear justification for the restrictions must be documented. Chime and Clara's doctor breached the law and caused the First Lady so much emotional pain. |
Some people see this issue from a sympathetic standpoint only and blame the press, lawyer Falana and others who spoke against Clara being detained at home against her wish. The issue is while fear of a stigma and risks were involved here, patients rights, legal and ethical considerations as well as best medical practice must be balanced against governor Chime's interest. In the first place, no one has a right to detain anyone, mentally ill or not at home. Detention for treatment must be done only in approved settings ie public psychiatric hospitals or prison, approval must be sought through the courts after the first 2 weeks. If the First Lady was so unwell as to require restriction in terms of movements, access to telephones, laptops and internet, postal services, why was she discharged home so early? Clara did the right thing contacting Falana. Otherwise we would never have seen her again. A lot of mentally unwell people are abused in this manner. Chime as a lawyer knows the laws. The significance of this is that in Nigeria there are no decent public psych hospitals to admit high level individuals. Psychiatry had been relegated to the background. Our mental health laws are archaic and cumbersome. The lessons from this chime incident is; 1. Mental illness can affect anyone rich or poor. So politicians please develop good mental health services and psych hospitals where you or your family members can be admitted if needed. 20 percent of the population are mentally unwell at anytime. Gov Chime has started well as he had appointed a psychiatrist as health commissioner in Enugu state. 2. we need to respect the rights of the mentally ill and practice in a more ethical manner. It could us receiving the treatment tommorrow |

We should wait to see how it works in the euro-american countries before adopting it. |
Jakumo: While it may not be the case in this particular instance, there have been a number of incidents where gunmen busy robbing victims became trigger-happy when one of the victims decided to start shouting "Blood of Jeesus!", or some such challenge, only to be silenced with a shot before the second verse escaped their lips. Thanks a lot. Even Christ applied this principle during his arrest by roman soldiers in the garden of gethsemane about 2000 years ago. He was calm and obedient to the soldiers urging his disciples to cease being violent to avoid risk of being slaughtered by the roman legions. |

I think Hugo is a genius with a deep sense of understanding of spiritual life. His brain captures images of apocalypse, things that took sages many years of deep study to experience. His visions sends messages that we have the choice to create peace and harmony or suffering despair and disharmony in our lives. For the kingdom of God is within us and Christ appears to us as we are; Hugo was wearing same clothes as Christ; chrisrt talks to him personally indicating salvation is a personal experience not depending on your religion or creed |
Men who have sex at least twice in a week can almost halve their risk of heart disease, according to new research. This study was conducted with over 1,000 men. Sex is an activity that involves intense physical and emotional elements. Sexual intercourse may be a marker for a healthy heart because sex can be a form of physical activity which, like exercise, gives your heart a workout. People who have a desire for frequent sex, and are able to do so, are likely healthier overall; especially because men who have regular sex may also be in a supportive relationship, which offers stress reduction and emotional benefits. The medical world is finding that regular sex is so good for you that when you go to see a doctor, they are asking many questions about your sex life to give them an indication of your overall health. Apparently, sex is not only good for your heart, it also keeps many other illnesses away. The big question in everybody's mind would be how about the women? Any research in support of the benefits of sex to women? For details click source link below. http://www.nigerianeye.com/2013/10/sex-keeps-you-healthy.html |
All we are interested in this country is money money money. How much work has PHCN done for this country to deserve so much allowances? Go to their office and u see many of them loitering around looking for bribes and tips and their supervisors are no where to be found. Until we develop a good work ethos, no progress. If they were striking for lack of equipment and irregular electricity one can see them as patriotic. |

Shocking revelation from NYSC coordinator of Kano state, Mr Sanusi Abdulrasheed, that 89% of NYSC members cannot write proper job application letters and prefer to speak broken English. I know that even in overseas university graduates need a bit of training on organizing job application letters and CVs and job interview skills, but for a university graduate not to be able to speak correct English is a slap on our university education. Nairalanders what's your view? Did Mr Sanusi Abdulrasheed went too far, blowing the figures out of proportion? See details from the news source below: http://odili.net/news/source/2013/oct/11/611.html |
dalynch: ;DThose of u dat are opening ur wide shapeless mouth saying,he already ve 3 y ll he still ve more,U dnt evn ve any thing to offer him, so shut ur mouths cos u dnt no hw it happen.Children are gift frm God nd God has bless them.He ll equally give them wat it teks to bring them up. God bless me with quadruplet too. This is the kind of thinking that makes Nigeria underdeveloped. Have you heard of family planning? The driver and his wife ought to have seriously considered contraception after three children given his socioeconomic background, rather tban thinking like you and getting themselves into a jam like this. Govt and philanthropic individuals should assist only after a tubal ligation, ie a form of permanent contraception had been signed for and done. |
