TheGoodJoe:

My point is so simple, so I wonder why you are asking the above.

Rohr should talk to Musa about passing to the player in a better position for next time sake. Is this so difficult to understand?
There is nothing to talk to Musa about. He did what he was asked to do -score-

The coast was clear and he scored, nothing says Iheanacho would have scored if he was passed to or can you guarantee that?
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by somehow: 10:41am On Jun 24, 2018
Oga Musa was started to score, he worked for the ball, raised his head up, saw a clear coast after beating 2 defenders and the GK, picked his spot and scored.

There is nothing like better option in that situation.

The best option is the option that got the job done.

Did Musa get the job done?

So please concentrate on how Iheanacho will score his against Argentina or how we can create more chances for our strikers come 26th and stop flogging a dead horse.
TheGoodJoe:
I praised Musa for the goal and genuinely celebrated the win. I just said Rohr should work on Musa passing to the player in better option for next time sake. Just as we hammered on Moses to reduce his selfish play.

I wonder why something as simple as that should be a problem.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by somehow: 10:35am On Jun 24, 2018
TheGoodJoe:
If that was Iheanacho with the ball, I would have preferred him to pass than shoot or dribble keeper. The team winning is more important than individual glory.
So sir what do you want us to do? Go back to replay the match and ask Musa to start all over again so that he can pass to Iheanacho?

Meaning FiFa should cancel the win and reschedule a new match? Why are you dwelling on recooking a cooked rice?

If we go back to watch the first goal, we can all see that Musa won the air ball contest in the middle which was then passed to Moses before making the run straight into the box. He was everywhere that day.
tbaba1234:
Ighalo does not work the channels, Kelechi and Musa did.

Musa was running all over the place, the defenders could not pin him down. For the second goal, Ighalo would have been in the center not in the position where Musa was, to take advantage of Omeruo's clearance.

Savage!

If una say Ighalo dey beg Rohr to enter pitch, what about Iheanacho that was begging Musa to give him the pass so he can do a simple ''Tap-in'' after Musa had done all the serious work. grin grin grin grin

Wrong assertion. Most of the people criticizing him including me have always had him in our lineup. Lets stop this attitude of always thinking motive is behind criticizm
goldfish80:
It's a mass hysteria effect. The Ighalo bashing is agenda driven. You have to be an independent thinker to figure this out.

When he paired with Moses against the Czechs, why didn't he score?
Goke7:
Ighalo stop giving excuses that its because you were the only striker upfront, abeg you no good at all, I hope rohr makes you glue your ass to the bench henceforth

Statistically, Musa had more defensive rating than Iheanacho yesterday. So you're wrong, Musa defended more than Iheanacho yesterday.

https://www.whoscored.com/Players/93577/Show/Ahmed-Musa

https://www.whoscored.com/Players/289253/Show/Kelechi-Iheanacho

TheGoodJoe:
I do not believe I know more than Rohr. You can make your point without malignant response.

Musa being tired or not was not the response but setting up the team to conserve a two goal lead. Nacho contributes more defensively than Musa. So Musa had to be the one to go out. Not tiredness. Also, John Ogu will bring more stability at the back with Etebo dropping deep to help support the midfield in defending.
Kog45:
Good observation.

So we even used 2 forwards here yet people are telling us Ighalo hasn't been scoring cos he's been playing alone? Why didnt he score in this game?

realpoacher:
I guess you are the only one who don't know that we started Shehu and Aina as wing backs against Argentina right?..... Before Idowu and Ebuehi replaced them in the second half

Even right on here when the team list was released, it came with a 3-5-2 formation

Secondly we started Czechs match with a 3-5-2 formation
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by somehow: 9:30pm On Jun 23, 2018
And Etebo has played against Messi in La liga (las palmas vs Barcelona), he ended up being the most fouled in that match so he should start.
eterisan:
Iwobi doesn't have the lungs to run, tackle, track and mark for even 70 mins. He will leave lots of spaces that will be exploited. We need Etebo against Argentina to mark Messi, along with Ndidi and Mikel... Àbí you nor see wety Iceland do am.

We do not have enough creativity in midfield to overrun Argentina just like Croatia.

Leave the midfield as e de, na beg I de beg u.

goldfish80:
Ebuehi did well no doubt, even better than Idowu managed especially with his drive forward, but he should be cautioned on giving unnecessary fouls away.
He committed a handball in the penalty area which was waved by the referee before the penalty incident.
The handball was not his doing, very unintentional. His eyes were away.

For the PK, inexperience showed and the wrong foot too. I think he's better off as RWB while moses mount the LWB.
Seems Idowu is afraid of going forward.

Their goalkeeper is a part time film director, five of their players are dentists yet Argentina failed to win against them and you still think we will lose to this same Argentina?

Thesame Argentina we thrashed 4:2 fah
They are all professional football players mr man.

Ahmed Musa also a part time business man

Ighalo also a part time business man

Okay, Mikel is also a part time producer. 50/50?

He will break it if not in this worldcup, then the next one coming. He's 25 so hes got at least u more years to go.
PDPGuy:
Musa needs 3 more world cup goals to become the African record goal-scorer in FIFA World Cup history.

The current record-holder, Asamoah Gyan (Ghana) scored 6 career world cup goals.

No shot on target poor....infact no shot at all poor.... Well I could agree with you...was Tactical..

If Rohr had started with a 352 in the Croatia game we would not have lost.. We tend to play better in the second half of games.
Since it's like we play better in the 2nd half, maybe we should always start the 1st half in a defensive mode by playing 4:5:1 or 5:4:1 then we switch to 3:5:2 in the second half against Argentina. All our recent matches has proven that we soar mostly after 45 mins and we get punished within the first 45 mins.

Oga..if that was what Musa was going, we wouldn't have 2 goals as we speak. He's the striker not the holdup conductor. Hes been holding on and we have been without goals... Meaning its not working!

When he saw Musa scored 2, he quickly went to beg the coach to sub him in. Is he afraid bench is callin him?

He either shape up or bench down.

That’s a whole different argument.

Yes, Moses played very well. Lovely assist by the way. Musa’s first touch was top notch.

BascoVanVeli:
The guy scored because of a mistake from the keeper. Is Ighalo also supposed to magically make the keeper make a mistake?
And when the icelandic defender headed backward against Ighalo, what did he do with the ball? Couldnt even turn. Meaning without support, he can't take on a defender or what?

Btw, it was the pressure the croatian striker gave the Argentine GK that disorganised him. He stayed with him forcing him to make that error.

Let Ighalo return back to this striking days and stop wasting the striking role for us.

He waa more of a striker at Kano pillars.
