Read to comprehend sir. my statement was a question, not an assertion.

Martz101:
My guy football is not mathematics, we might whoop them if we get to meet them in world cup

Mujtahida:
In this instance there is no double standard. We are not measuring accurately if you want to use the performance of Shehu in matches he was fully fit to compare with Ebuehi in a match Ebuehi was not fully fit. Drawing your attention to that has now become double standard? How? Tbaba1234 calls it false equivalency.

Compare a fit Shehu with a fit Ebuehi. Whoever comes on top takes the spot. Not that for the of critiquing the boy you totally overlook his fitness issues. That's why I said that one can say he underperformed but if that person ignores his fitness woes then I don't think that's balanced criticism.

He didn't play well. He was not fully fit. That is balanced criticism in the context of the match.
Can you prove this? can an unfit player play a full match when there was an option?
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by somehow: 1:23pm On Mar 28, 2018
Well i stand by it, common, they are not at the top of the food chain when it comes to football. they are not far from us in quality. forget yesterday's match. on a normal day with 100% complete squad on both ends, they wouldn't beat us the way they did yesterday.

Mujtahida:
It means don't call any team 'common'

Nah, he's human and can have bad days but i don't get why people are making excuses for him like he's immune to bad games.

edi287:
I don't know about Ebuehi. Are you guys saying players aren't entitled to have bad games?? Ebuehi has been great but after one bad game he isn't good enough. Let's rule out both him and Shehu then and go for Aina
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by somehow: 1:03pm On Mar 28, 2018
My bad, i thought they didn't qualify, i apologize for that.

Meaning if we meet them in the WC proper, we might still get beaten?

Mujtahida:
Hahahaha hahahaha. No wonder. So you don't know that Serbia is in group E with Brazil, Costa Rica and Switzerland? Choi
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by somehow: 12:35pm On Mar 28, 2018
Is this why he was invited?

btw, why do we say Ebuehi wasnt fit? will a coach use an unfit player for the whole match when he's got a replacement on the bench?
edi287:
He is a b2b CM who is better on the ball and can dribble players at his best. We need that
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by somehow: 12:19pm On Mar 28, 2018
According to you? wouldn't you say the same about Ebuehi when he kept being invited without being used until he was used?
Same with Ogu?

Until you use a player, never use the 'WORD" not better because that's a fallacious statement!

Pastors are like other mortal outthere, HUMANS!

THEY are not different from a doctor, lawyer, mason, politician out there. it's a profession for now

So if you're "foolish" enough to always think they cant do what you do daily, then you're of the most miserable.

Talking from personal experience, they are as human as you're and don't have different rules when it comes to judgement.

They are common to me and football is logic. it's science and has gone beyond emotion. you can beat the best on paper if you have a better scientific approach to the match. a pack of sheep led by a lion can defeat the reverse.

We have seen countries/clubs with less quality players winning tournaments and they aren't one off, this happen yearly all over the world. so there is nothing uncommon here.
Martz101:
Serbia is not common and football is not logic
Football is not illogical if you say it's not logic.

Did Rohr bring Joel to compete with Onazi? is our problem that of DM?

edi287:
Because as a CM, he is better on the ball than Onazi. That is the truth. He had a bad game. Just like Nacho, Shehu, etc did.
If Rohr doesn't invite him again, that's cool. But using these 2 games to say Onazi is better is just funny.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by somehow: 12:01pm On Mar 28, 2018
Seem you are only typing what you have in mind and not responding according to what you're quoting. okay go back to the start of what you quoted to understand.

Why invite new faces if you won't give them space to play or prove themselves?
why use players in positions you have surplus already when other areas are lacking?
shouldn't invitation be for positions you need to fortify?
We have untested players within earth and not from planet mars except you just want to stick to your perspectives and not really ready for a discussion.

Goke7:
And do we have players we can bring from planet mars to solve this problem. Don't think so. Let's hope for the best

And so far so good, we don't have a potent bench attack wise. what happens when we lose the likes of Mikel, Moses and Iheanacho attack wise?

Or we lose Balogun, Shehu, Effong defense wise?

You're smarter than this, for you not to know an assumption from a question is baffling. quote where i said Spain will beat us 10:0
safarigirl:
what baffles me on NL is that you people will make assumptions first, then, when someone turns it on you, you will say it doesn't count.

Is it not you that claimed that because common Serbia won us 2-0, Spain will win us 10-0? Was that not you making assumptions? Now, you want to tank the same thing you did

If I am wrong, you are wrong as well. Spain cannot win us 10-0, so, no need to even assume the possibility

Before making a statement, reason it the other way around, lest you contradict yourself unwittingly

Is Serbia a WC team? lets stay within context.
Mujtahida:
Call any team at this WC 'common' at your own peril.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by somehow: 10:33am On Mar 28, 2018
So its by ranking now right? selective objectivity? the last match Serbia play, what was the scoreline?

Yes we beat Argentina because we were more determined, yesterday we weren't and Serbia was more determined. one a normal day, lets say at the world cup proper and we are paired with Serbia, if we lose 2:0 just like yesterday, will you go and look for other people that lost to console yourself?

concern yourself with your team and stop looking for attachee in despair. grin

I can't take assurance as fact until it happens, so your assumption remains what it is. assumption.

safarigirl:
common Serbia abi?

Now, Serbia is common. Please, where is common Serbia in FIFA ranking and where is your uncommon Nigeria? Abi you think you and Serbia are mates because you qualify for World Cup and dem no qualify?

Is it not this same Argentina that we won 4-2? That means, nothing is special about them and we are probably even better than them.

I can assure you, this Nigerian team can never be beaten by 6 goals by any team, not even Germany or Brazil, talk less Spain.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by somehow: 10:30am On Mar 28, 2018
Reason why i am wondering the rationale to his invitation. our problem is not DM, it has always been AM, so why did he invite him?
forgiveness:
Your head dey dere.

However, Joel Obi is not an AMF. He played as a CMF and LM and he has shown he is better than John Ogu.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by somehow: 9:36am On Mar 28, 2018
Yes religion does it, check the way some pray. Enough said.

Check any country that makes remark using other people's failure as their own way of feeling better, they always have one thing in common.

Why not use those who did well to physc yourself?
safarigirl:
how religion take cause am?

Check even the foreign sites and see how they compare themselves to other teams in their groups. Nobody is saying the team is great, but don't act like only Nigerians do the "at least we aren't that bad" line.

Everybody does it.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by somehow: 9:02am On Mar 28, 2018
Did we play him as AM or as a DM? Thought he was on the right side of a 4:3:3 formation. How's that an AMF?
Mickael2:
against Poland Joel was one of the better players, way way better than Iheanacho and Shehu, the team was bad. then he was played as an AMF today and of course he didn't give his best because he isn't an AMF

The qualifiers has ended, we are heading to a stage where more difficult opponents are waiting for us. We must shun emotional and irational thoughts for now.

Goals win matches

Ighalo can't be our sole 9, I think we should be rational and think of a backup 9.

I would rather we go with Ighalo and Martins to the world cup.
One of the DMs should be dropped.

You need goals to win matches.

We need a backup for Mikel too and I think we should be rational here too.

Joel so far hasn't shown he can play that position or should we blame the coach for always playing him as a DM?

Let's think rationally this time around.

Imagine o. Can you just imagine how our country people think?

Religion caused this, we always use other people's woes to console or make ourselves better. It's a bad mentality. Why must you look for others not doing well to make yourself feel good? That's a saddistic mindset.

Oasis007:

It's funny we are taking Consolation from the Argentina Loss to Spain. Can someone tell me how celebrating the Argies Loss gonna improve our Team?. Let's face our Problem and leave them to face theirs.

I wondered why Rohr had to wait that long before using the subs. Why keep those you know how they play that long on the pitch when you have untested legs on the bench? Why call them if truly you needed to test their abilities?

Attention seekers looking for ways out of poverty in a VVIP wedding? you just want to type? no poor person would ever make it into that hall!

DrinkLimca:
Very very correct..

Unfortunately that's The Nigeria mentality, they don't respect and observe protocols at ceremonies..

It's very very annoying,, sometimes you see them making noise like market women at a time when everyone was suppose to enjoy what goes on,, on the stage..

The truth is that, It's all boils down to poverty mentality..

But who are we to point fingers?

The question is that, is there real hardship and poverty in the land?

The answer is pretty obvious, so these attention seekers are only looking for a way to out of poverty..

In the long run, Our Government is responsible for all this, and this is why each and every adult citizen of Mother Nigeria must get his or her voters card and flush this government out of power..

Beastiality has nothing to do with region,it's an individual thing, can some of you use your brain at least?

Read and seen pictures, articles of people in other parts of Nigeria and the world at large sleeping with animals.

What about girls sleeping with dogs and horses?

People on this Nairaland are sick upstairs.

Na so bro, too many emotional comments filled with ethnic and sentimental vibes. Many on this thread are fond of this habit.

To me, both can't replace Mikel or deputize him and as matr said, Aluko is not even a midfielder and Nwakali is not outstanding enough to boss the midfield when it comes to serious business.

Kog45:
I love your question.I think we had this discussion yesterday based on Mikel Agu late call and metaljigsaw said why when we have Ndidi,Onazi,Joel,Ogu,Etebo, and Agbo even Agbo continue invitation has a question mark.

Humility017 and metaljigsaw believe what we need now is AM cos it was evident against Poland and they are right but the question is do we have one.

I came up with Sone Aluko and Kekechi Nwakili but some came hard on me said why Aluko?but didn't question why Nwakili Kelechi.

The issue here is simple we are too sentimental and emotional in our response to issues and we often forget that we are talking football.

I now realized mentioning name Aluko is not the issue or his quality is questionable but some see it as a way to hit back at some monikers, that's not analysis.

If we are questioning clamouring for Aluko then why are we trying to justify Chiedebere Nwakili invitation for Algeria and Argentina match, pls on what ground.

I made my recommendation and i said Aluko and Kelechi,Humility017 thumb me up on Kelechi Nwakili and forgiveness said why Kelechi Nwakili who is now playing in dutch 2nd tier.

I think Aluko would fit in just like Joel Obi cos he once a member of the team right from U20 and Nwakili is a young lad with great talent and see him as a future replacement for Mikel.

Major issue here we leave football analysis to settle personal scores which is not good for this thread.

Aren't you assuming here? Do you know Onazi in person and did he tell you he wouldn't be able to cope in the championship?

What do they play in the championship that he can't handle? Power, pace and endless police ball? Are these what he can't play?

komekn:
Tell me one club in the EPL or Championship in England that offered him a contracthuh

So playing in Kasimpasa will pay more than the championshiphuh Do you really think sohuh

How much is the highest player in Kasimpasa on annually. There are a lot of championship players on over £50k a week.

The reality is he knows he will not be able to get a club to pay him big bucks in the championship sadly true, he simply is not rated highly. For him Turkey was probably a better option maybe. Than testing himself against better players and getting a move to the EPL.
