You surely know nothing about Martins or the Super eagles with the bolded. Certitude: Martins ain't gon add no sh!t we ain't got before... Even if I was born last night, Nigga has failed to impress in GWG. The last he did was against kenya before 2010 WC. Mikel was a boss in that game but then, of course, it's Mikel the bad guy. He wasn't Okocha... Bla bla bla... Remember Yakubu had a goal in that game but they both turned out lame duck at the WC. Maybe you think Martins only came to limelight in one game under Keshi. Now i know who to give my time and attention to. |

Yea son, it's Martins, the one outperforming your top 9 in the same Chinese league even at his age, the one still clocking minutes more than your top 9. Yea, your top 9 scored how many goals for the SE in 15 games? Yea sure, we are scoring goals. I forgot the job of a top 9 already. Oh it's to score goals? Nooo, it's to press defenders.... Nooo it's to wait until there is a Mikel in the midfield before he can at least have 3 targets on goal in a 90 mins game. Sing me another song Son. Certitude: There ain't no loss son... It's Martins we're talking about here. Did he develop some other sh!t that I ain't aware of. No be like say we nor dey even score goals. |

Number of games as a substitute? I think he only started 2, he had 2 assists though. Well for now, I can't say you're right or wrong, we are just assuming what could have happened if Umar or Dessers were to be in that same team. Maybe they aren't even good enough to leave for a better league? tbaba1234: For the kind of team, Kayode played for, he should have had more games. He had a lot of opportunities but for a striker, if you are not scoring, you will be benched.
I think, Dessers and Umar could have at least gotten one goal if given the number of games Kayode had. |

Kayode will scatter goals every week in and out in the league Umar and Dresser are currently. Defense wise, that league is rubbish! I hardly watch 45 mins cos it's just too easy! tbaba1234: You will always say Kayode is the best, he is one of your favorite players alongside Ajagun, ilori.. ..
Kayode finishing is average, when he went to a better league, it showed.. Ideye was scoring a lot in Ukraine but when the standard was higher he could not produce.
Umar had limited opportunities in Serie A but he showed his ability in pre season and now in the Eredivise. In his recent games, he has made me a believer in his abilities. He still needs to improve on his finishing. His finishing is not good enough yet.
Dessers has one of highest goal scoring rates per minute in the eredivise. |

"lose" means if Rohr was looking at his direction as a tested forward, that option is gone. Get it? Certitude: How we take lose? Martins hasn't played for us for... I can't tell how long. What has he done for us since the 2010 WC? |

Kayode that I know is not an in-box player. Can't deputise Ighalo nor can he hold up play. I'm talking of a proper 9 here. Kayode to me is more of a forward (winger) than a CF. forgiveness: Ask AC Roma, dey will tell you Kayode scared the life out of them with his two goals and assist in Europa League over two matches.
Don't forget, he scored against an Italian defensive team twice. I don't think it's is moi moi.
Kayode Olanrewaju is far better than Dessers and Umar combined.
Those two lads are not in his level.
Give him the chance to prove himself and he will deliver. |

Yea yea yea, color it anyhow you like but una intensions are out in the open since hearing the news. Too bad some of you don't know that for Ighalo to sit up, he need someone who's with same experience or even more experienced than him up front. He's been kinda lackadaisical of recent. Anyways we can as well include a toddler to the 23 man list to the world cup so we can go make up numbers as usual. There is no other striker of Nigerian descent tested and trusted that can give Ighalo any sit up needed at the mundia. All the same, I still pray we find a greenhorn somewhere somehow who can at least come to our rescue incase Ighalo continue his "press up activities" at the Frontline why we beg other players to help us score as usual. safarigirl: so, what are you implying with this comment now?
Did I also post a smiley to warrant this your talk?
Abeg collect the condolences and keep moving. It is obvious it is you who has bad intentions towards players, that is why you are trying to accuse everyone of ill will , because this one no favor you, you come dey quote people upandan.
When God says something will not happen, e no go happen. If the entire team likes, make everybody go injure before World Cup so that we will all be happy, abi?
I sure say you follow join for those people way been like that news that Kelechi was injured during the international break.
Anyway, Martins will not be back in two months, so..... , that's for you Kayode to me doesn't have that presence that can scare or put defenders at alert. Umar, I don't know if Rohr wants someone like that. Dessers..... He's been up in the media for months now and Rohr hasn't for once given any hint of calling him. Maybe Ajayi but is Ajayi a CF that can actually replace Ighalo if need be? |

We still have 2 months to the world cup, be careful with how you use the word or name "God" to justify or explain away what favours you. Anything can still happen to anyone between now and then. Not being pessimistic but just trying to caution some of us. Injuries on the pitch of play can happen to any player....... safarigirl: My sincerest condolences to Team Martins on his unfortunate injury. Truly, when God says you don try, you don try.
We wish him best of luck for the rest of his playing career and hope he cheers the boys at Russia.
Meanwhile, this is as good a time as any to try Dessers and Sadiq Umar. |

I will have to compare using league, number of games and play time to compare when it comes to goal, Umar did well in Seria A before joining dessers at the current league, I'm using what has been achieved to rate them both not what might or might not happen in the future. Joebie: Dessers is 23, he has arrived age-wise.. You never know what he might do if he moved to La Liga for example.. it's hard to really say.. which is why i'm not so strict on this league comparison thing.. Did Sadiq get lots of playing time in Serie A?
Modified Take a look at Orji Okwonkwo He had 3 goals from 10 matches in the serie A This term he's not even scored a goal after 6 matches in Serie B, even though he has clocked more minutes.
You see what I mean? This is why i'm not big on league comparison.. it's all about player form and maybe other factors as well. |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by somehow: 7:18am On Apr 05, 2018 |
I was comparing the 2 players that was put side by side, Umar in fewer number of games performed better goal wise than Dessers. bengine: Umar is not a lethal finisher, he is just ok but he offers a lot more as a forward..he has pace and very skillful for a guy that tall..his hold up play is good too...too be honest I don't mind him being our third striker, his unpredictability can cause a few upsets at the world cup...
If we can just get nachos finishing and download it into Sodiq's brain, I would take Sodiq ahead of Ighalo right away in our starting line up...
I don't think taking just Ighalo and nacho to world cup as our strikers is good..one of them would get injured at some point..and u can't really trust Musa.. |

I believe the league both of them are will only teach them how to score with less difficulty defense wise, will they be able to repeat same goal scoring ratio when they go to a better league? I will still rate Umar ahead of Dresser because he came from a higher and more difficult league where he actually had some goals recorded to his name. Joebie: Umar needs to maintain that superior goal per minute ratio. As it stands, a better way to compare them is by focussing on their current Eredivisie record. |

Joebie: you mean they would have beaten the Japanese club hands down? Yes because they were 2:0 up within 25 mins of the first half, Martins contributed to both goals. After his removal, their attacking prowess reduced which gave Kashima space to draw level in the second half. Fredy Gurani couldn't do much to keep the lead. |

I watched the match he got injured in, it was Asian champions league match, he had about 2 shots on goal and won a PK before he was injured within 22 mins, got stretched out, that's where I knew it was severe.. they ended up drawing 2:2 from 2:0 up. If he was still on, I bet they wouldn't have won the game hands down against Kashima Antlers. Kog45: Sir,Obafemi Martins is not 45 years old.He went to Italy with my far younger cousin whom they are of the same age range through Churchill Oliseh.
He started at a very young age and luck to hit it straight at Inter Milan from Nigeria.Mind you Martins didn't play Nigeria league.
If Rohr feel that Martins can do it,let him come to camp and prove himself.

What makes a player extraordinary is playing different roles, creating chances out of thin air, making others who play around him or her great by bringing out the best in them, scoring and assisting. Not blaming others when they lose. Not getting angry and complaining when they don't pass to him. Not lurking at the edge of the penalty box waiting for others to do the job so they can pass to him to score, then claim all the glory. I can go on but let me stop here.
