Now my assessment on each player

Ferreira - 8
I don't like him, but yesterday he did his job in holding that fast guy . . . can't remember name. Also Nice cross for the second goal

Alex - 6
He had a good game in defence but he looks shaky at times and was lucky to escape after that blunder. I took a point from him for that. 

Carvalho - 9
This guy is a super defender, he runs forward to help the attack, there's a tackle he made that the Ref blew as fowl but that was a clean tackle

Wayne Bride - 8
A contender with Ashley Cole any day any time.

Essien - 6,  Makalele 6
Both of them were held and almost outdone by the opponents midfield. This formation allows the opponent's midfield to run into spaces and is a huge disadvantage in counter attacks. So I blame the technical crew for this one

Lampard - 7
An improvement from what he has been. A lot of long accurate passes was seen and in 2nd half he came back to help the defence when needed.

Joe Cole - 6
He was given a free role but I don't think he used it too well, he missed a lot of his dribbles and we did not see any killer passes.

Malouda - 7
constant threat to opponents defence and lucky goal

Drogba - 9
wonderful goal, passing was good, constant threat, he sees space and runs into it, he knew where the ball was going to be most times and deserved a penalty in the 2nd half

Management - AG and TC - 6
Pedigree of players won this game. No psychology from the bench during the match. Our wingers were easily cut out by opponents defence, Our defensive midfield were on the back foot a number of times. The formation should be worked on, and midfield should help wingers, short passes should be used at the wings.

The game was ok, I see improvement in Lampard, he is getting close to the type of Lampard we know.

Our possesion has improved but the fluidity and attacking cutting edge needs more work

I notice we use long ground balls, we need to work on this or expect a lot of interception. Also it means forwards have to anticipate passes and run to the space.

I prefer Mikel over Essien. Mikel improved the fluidity. when he came in and the pace of the game.
