PoliticsRe: Nairaland Igbo And Yoruba New Years Peace Convention by Sonofpeace(m): 11:25am On Jan 01, 2013
i hope that the moral of this thread is honored by all parties involved. it will help us as a people to talk constructively without any atom of sentiment. I am Igbo and my best friend when i was in Ghana was Sheyi a yoruba dude.We go to church together and he works with me at my uncles shop. People thought we were brothers. My coming to NL was as result of a research i was doing on sierra leone creols and NL gave me all i was looking for. However, nothing intelligent void of tribalism can be found these day in nairaland which forced me out of this wonderful forum for a long time.
The question is what happened to Nairalanders?

I can see that some people have started sh.iting their pants due to fear of possible disintegration. I pray that Nigeria would outgrow all these ethnocentric tendancies and work as a people with national pride though i don't see it coming. SNC is desperately needed to salvage this nation destined to be great.

PoliticsRe: House Of Reps Passes Motion To Reverse Subsidy Removal - Sai, Tambuwal by Sonofpeace(m): 6:19pm On Jan 08, 2012
As much as i know, this act of parliament is simply an advice to the presidency and also for him to know that Nigeria as a whole reject the removal of fuel subsidy.
Its then left to the executive to accept or reject this motion. But if i were to be Mr President i will gradly reverse it while citing legislative motion is the main reason behind the sudden change of mind. By doing so, nobody would view as a weak president.

I have lived in Ghana, couldnt believe hearing ghana people especially Ga's and Ashantis saying "mba" which means no in Igbo whenever they disagree with me. I think it may be due to Nollywood movies which is predominantly Igbo actors and actresses
PoliticsRe: Subsidy Removal: Nigerians Made A Mistake Not Electing Buhari – El-Rufai by Sonofpeace(m): 9:33am On Jan 08, 2012
El Rufai is a bigot, a boko haram sponsor and should be arrested. How could he say that Boko haram doesnt wear jeans yet he doesnt know who they are and they are not from North.
If only Jona could play his cards very well, these are the kinds that would give a useful intel to security agency.

PoliticsRe: Why Have South-East Leaders Remained Silent About Boko Haram? by Sonofpeace(m): 1:11pm On Dec 30, 2011
guonno:
THEY SAY; "BEING BRAVE IS BEING silly" AN IGBO MAN IS BRAVE BUT NOT silly (NAIRALANDERS, ASK your FATHER, THEY WILL CONFIRM THIS) ANOTHER BRAVE ETHNIC GROUP IS THE FULANIS(NOT EVEN THE HAUSAS) BUT THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN FULANIS AND IGBOS IS THAT FULANIS ARE silly, WHEN U ASK 50 FULANIS TO GO TO WAR, WITHOUT ASKING ANY QUESTION, THEY WILL BE AT WAR. BUT AN IGBO WOULD GET INTO WAR FOR A JUSTIFIED REASON. NOW TO MY MAIN POINT WHICH ANSWERS THE QUESTION WHY THE SILENCE FROM IGBO LEADERS? GBOKO HARAM IS AT WAR WITH WESTERNIZATION, MEANING THEIR TARGETS ARE CHURCHES, POLICE, ARMY, SCHOOLS, ETC. U HAVE MUSLIMS IN THE ARMY, POLICE, SCHOOLS, EVEN IN CHURCHES (SOME YORUBA MUSLIMS GO TO CHURCH), U ALSO HAVE DIFFERENT TRIBES WITHIN THIS CYCLE. THE ABOVE LAST SENTENCES MEANS THAT WHEN GBOKO STRIKE, THEY GET AT ALMOST EVERY ETHNIC GROUP IN NIGERIA. WHEN EVER THEY STRIKE THE POLICE, THEY GET ENOUGH HAUSA AND OTHER ETHNIC GROUP THAT ARE MUCH IN THE POLICE, I WAS IN BORNO STATE DURING 2009 BH HIT ON POLICE, CUSTOMS, FRSC, SCHOOLS, ETC. WHEN THEY STRIKE THE CHURCH, THEY WOULD DEFINITELY GET MORE IGBOS BECAUSE 90% OF IGBOS ARE CHRISTIANS. NIGERIA WOULD HAVE BEEN HISTORY IF THEY HAD GOTTEN UNN. LET ME ALSO SAY THIS, IF THIS BOMBING THING PERSISTS, THE IGBO LEADERS WOULD NOT HAVE ANY CHOICE THAN TO SAY THINGS THEY HAVE BEEN AVOIDING AND WHEN THIS HAPPENS, I BET U NIGERIA WILL BE HISTORY. U KNOW WHY NIGERIA WILL BE HISTORY? THIS IS BECAUSE THE WAR WILL BE JUST BETWEEN IGBOS AND HAUSA/FULANI, THE MIDDLE BELT, THE SS, MIGHT NOT JOIN THEM THIS TIME DUE TO THE WICKEDNESS THE HAUSA/FULANI MAN EXPOSED THEM TO. I DONT ALSO THINK THAT THE WORLD POWER(AMERICA - THE WORSE ENEMY OF ISLAM ) AND OTHER COUNTRIES THAT HELPED NIGERIA TO DEFEAT BIAFRA WILL COME TO NIGERIAS AID.
Brov, stop disguising as an Igbo when in reality you're an enemy to the Igbos.
If i may ask who are you dragging to war against Hausa/fulanis?
PoliticsRe: Why Have South-East Leaders Remained Silent About Boko Haram? by Sonofpeace(m): 12:39pm On Dec 30, 2011
Seriously, we Igbos need to take a chill pill and stop all chest beating we're doing at the moment because it won't make boko haram or the hausa/fulani to be afraid of us.
What we need to be doing is to be proactive in action as our fathers have being.  cry

PoliticsBoko Haram: Suicide Bombing Foiled In Kano by Sonofpeace(op): 9:59am On Dec 19, 2011
Could this news below be true? i got this info from Pat Utomis facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/Utomi) so i decided to surf the net to verify its authencity.

Written by Naija Pundit on 19 December 2011.
Following the attacks in Kwa, Kano state, by suspected members of the Boko Haram sect, on Thursday and Friday last week, the locals have risen up against the set and have undertaken a massive man hunt against the sect.

A local vigilante group in Darmanawa Quarters, Ungwan Uku in Kano, Kano state had combed some houses and had found tapes of the late Mohammed Yusuf in the house of one Yunusa Ahmed. Upon further search, they found a car already rigged with improvised explosive devices apparently meant to be used for a suicide bombing. The car (pictured above) if used in an attack would have killed multiples of people.

Yunusa had been engaged in a shoot out with the police who were on a reconnaissance mission to his house. Upon being aware of the reconnaissance, Yunusa had alerted members of the sect living with and around him who had  launched an attack on the police killing two policemen on the spot and one other when the police called for reinforcement.

When there was a lull in the gun duel, Yunusa had escaped from the building upon which the locals engaged him in hot pursuit eventually overtaking and apprehending him.

Bomb making equipments and wires were also found in Yunusa's house.

Information retrieved from Yunusa was also used to get other members of the sect who had fled their own states after making it ungovernable with the aim to do same to Kano state.

In the home of one of Yunusa's colleagues, Mohammed Ali, at Darnamawa Quarters, another intended suicide bombing car (Honda)  loaded with 50 litres of petrol and 50 kg cylinders was discovered as well as bomb making machines and gun powder.

Several AK-47s rifles were also found along with ammonia based chemicals and other incendiary materials used in making bombs.

The raids in Kano were proactively initiated by Kano indigenes though the police were eventually called in after discoveries were made.

Apparently, the people of Kano are on edge after the Boko Haram sect released a letter stating that their next target in their jihad against Nigeria was Kano which they intend to make as ungovernable as they have done to Maiduguri. In their letter, emailed to news men by one  Muhammad Abubakar Shekau described as a spiritual head of the sect, Boko Haram promised to wage jihad against Nigeria "until her present constitution is abrogated, her democracy suspended and a full fledged Islamic state established".

This latest round of violence in Kano is leading to an exodus of Southerners from the city.

and who cares? Referees are not cowards na, they are there to maintain the rules of the game, in this senario the rule of the war.
PoliticsRe: OPC's Anti-Boko Haram Protest Are Unnecessary – Northern Youths by Sonofpeace(m): 4:38pm On Dec 12, 2011
This is a welcome development coming from OPC. I just wish they should start killing any hausa/fulani on sight immediately cos time is fast running.
We Igbos should just chillax, watch and learn how it is done by the Yorubas. They can take on the Hausas alone. Infact, the war should begin right away only that we(igbos) would be the referee.

I have never been heartbroken thanks to the experience i had growing up with my elder brother who was heartsmashed by a lady whom all the member of my family knew as his fiancee. Since then i decided to be conservative with women.
My first girl friend never knew my house, my mom, my dad for a year because i was casual with her eventhough i wasnt overly hard on her.
Women can be a Biatch if you let them.
