I know that Coscharis claimed that their cars are tropicalised for Nigerian roads and fuel type but after seeing the BMWs sold to the Nigerian Police and the Customs top shots and the connivance with unscrupulous public servants, then they dont have any integrity.. That said, order from any source and do not depend on their after sales service because it is zero and a conduit pipe. There are many good range rover garages around and those that know themselves as such will never exploit the RR owners. Reliability is sure as it will take you from Lagos to Kano in grand style. My Range Rover Sport has not given me issues that are extraordinary. I have changed my gasket twice when it overheats instead of changing the engine, I have changed a balloon just once in four years, I service my gear every year, my engine, twice a year, and all in all, the range rover sport is still on the road and ready to go anywhere.

Where is the car? The worrisome thing about buying used gear boxes is that we don't know the status of the gear other than it is Toks. I rather repair the old gear than buying another gear with no history. If we can see the car for inspection, it will be better than speculating. We are in ikeja

sooperrescue, I have a 2004 liberty jeep, had a transmission fluid change using those red containers and before you know it, the transmission overheating light started coming on and the transmission fluid started overheating. After months, I changed the transmission fluid to the proper ATF+4 but the overheating still continued until the transmission failed. Finally, I bought a new transmission and had it fixed with the proper fluid used (mopar ATF+4). the problem is; for the past two weeks, the transmission fluid overheating light keeps coming on and I can perceive the burnt fluid when the light comes on. What is causing this? I plan on having the fluid changed, is it a cooling problem or a cooling line issue? the vehicle engine doesn't overheat at all.

Edgetech injector cleaners might work for your RRS but there is no harm in trying it. From my experience, if your tank is always half full and your injectors are not clogged, then you dont have any need for it. But if you sometimes allow a dtc code to say misfire occurred due to low fuel, you might use it to dissolve all the dirts from the fuel tank.

I have worked so had as a young guy and save up a lot and my business is doing too good. I love the Range Rover sports look so I researched a lot for the most reliable year from 2009 downwards and found 2007 and 2009 to be the most reliable. So I'm going with the 2009 range rover sports because the newer the better I guess.
Since the RRS 2009 requires premium fuel and nigeria doesn't offer that and octance boosters can knock or spoil the engine, what do I do about the fuel situation seeing that many Nigerians use RRS and seem to put some kind of fuel to keep their RRS moving.

You have done a good research and we don't have premium unleaded fuel in Nigeria hence the resort to octane boosters. The range rovers that you find with engine issues are those that never knew that they had choices as regards the fuel they use on their Range Rovers. I have been using octane boosters since 2009 in response to my passat 2005 and Mercedes e class that all died because of the fuel in Nigeria. In an interview with Ppmc top officials in Abuja in 2007, they told me that anyone driving cars that are not using our fuel are on their own. In 2008, I began researching on boosters and we had already began test samples using toluene, kero and atf and later settled for Johnsens octane boosters. There are over six brands of octane boosters currently in Nigeria. Stp, abro, nulon, Johnsens and dyno tabs. We have been selling Johnsens since 2009 and until 2017, when dangote start selling high grade fuel, we'll still be supplying all our loyal clients. The owner was glad to find a buyer at that price. Back to your questions. Try and get good engine flush and flush out the sludge in the engine, then use OANDO SYN oil. As for the transmission fluid, you need multi purpose global synthetic transmission fluid like pureguard. There is a coolant called freezetone in the market, get that too if you are in Lagos. And the final advice is to get Octane Boosters for the Passat to see if it could remedy the big issues already living with the car. VW Passat does not work very well with our fuel hence you see fewer cars on the roads these days.

I dont understand who allows all these red chemicals into the country without letting consumers to know that seahorse is good for cars made before 1995, Total fluide 11d is ideal for cars made before 1995, that Mobil ATF is for cars made before 2002, That all Dexron 111 atf are meant for cars made before 2005 yet Nigerians are still using these fluids without being protected by the Consumer Protection Council and the Standards Organisation of Nigeria. cvt transmission is not interchangeable unless you let an electrician perform some modifications. Those who normally change their murano engine and gear to toyota sienna also go thru a lot of stress. Holts atf has not been verified to be dexron iii contrary to what they claim and if there were no electrical modification done to the car when they converted your gearbox, then what you are going thru now is expected. I suggest you go back to basics, fix a cvt gear and use ns1 cvt fluid. Whatever gain you must have made by allowing your mec to tropicalise your car has been eroded. Return to basics

A quick rejoinder. Your 5.7 hemi does not require premium unleaded fuel, it works perfectly with our fuel. It was a mix up and was thinking of the lexus 570. If you are having fuel economy issues, we have an injector service for all vehicles that will remove all the carbon in the engine

We recently serviced a Range Rover Hse 3.0 Diesel. The Range was very sluggish and you need to quickly speak in tongues before it will move fast, that is after 3 minutes of cajoling it. The bottom line was the diesel. We drained the diesel out of the tank and if you know how Agbo jedijedi looks like, they share the same colour. The diesel is always contaminated in Nigeria and all the importers are guilty of the crime.There are many diesel cleaners and cetane enhancers being sold in the country and one of the best in the market is fuel magic. It even works on generators too. When we were in Warri, it was one of our fast selling products as many generator owners were our major clients. The modern diesel driven SUVs are supposed to be powered by cleaner diesels that do not pollute our environment but if we have low octane fuel for Petrol driven SUVs and those in charge are not bothered, is it on diesel that they will lose sleep over?

The Octane Booster creates an even combustion making the injectors to burn fuel evenly. It eliminates the misfiring of the cylinder in your car. For instance on an AMG Mercedes, the premium unleaded is 93 while the normal Mercedes requires 91. If the Americans with their premium unleaded fuel still produce boosters, it is not for us but for those with 5.7 Dodge, BMW M series, AMGs and Brabus Mercedes Benz. Like you stated, they do help in cleaning fuel injectors, therefore it makes your fuel to burn evenly and the ECU will reduce the fuel that is being sent to the cylinders and therefore the misfiring will not occur. If the lab had used your Dodge as an example, then we would have been able to know if the 2 points were achieved cos your 5.7 Hemi V8 requires 93 Octane and not 91. For us here in Nigeria, we have 87 unleaded. It was a petroleum engineer that even pointed it out to me. Before, it was 90 unleaded according to SON and PPMC in my investigations in 2007. For an analysis sent to VW group in Germany, it was even 82 unleaded. That is the reason why VW cars are all dying before their time. The 2010 5.0 Range Rovers are failing here in the country and the most common cause is overheating. If your 5.7 is still on the road and not overheating or giving out little issues, please thank your Octane booster. And a quick reminder, many people never bother to change their air filter and forget that it is a mixture of air and fuel that ignites the engine but if the air is clogged, the fuel economy is compromised.
