Celebrities / Re: Kelis Called ‘kunta Kinte,’ ‘disgusting Nigerian’ @ London Airport by sophienwa(f): 4:15pm On Sep 20, 2011
Well darling, she re-tweeted after the Major of London promised to investigate that in happen @ an airport in Spain. Her flight was from London but she was in Spain when it happened
Celebrities / Re: Kelis Called ‘kunta Kinte,’ ‘disgusting Nigerian’ @ London Airport by sophienwa(f): 12:38pm On Sep 20, 2011
Can I just say that this actually happened in Spain and not London as initially implied plus though that case was blatant racism, racism in the uk is generally more subtle than that. Unfortunately the law requires a strong burden of proof and it is usually hard to prove unless they blatantly call u d N word or something similar. They are getting cleverer and cleverer in being racist and know what they can and can't get away with
Fashion / Re: Fixed Fake Hair by sophienwa(f): 10:18am On Jul 17, 2010
i actually find this thread and some of the comments very funny. i think we are forgetting the most important thing here which is that it is YOUR hair and you can do WHATEVER u want to do with it without having to defend yourself ; and this is coming from someone with naturaln hair.

medjai:

what happens when for example, a goal keeper has gone to assist his team in attack and there is a quick counter and the ball is played to a striker who is between two defenders and the goal keeper is still at the other end of the field. Is that off?

that wouldn't be considered off side cos you've got @ least two defenders between him and the post and the keeper doesn't t necessarily have to be one of them.

TV/Movies / Re: "koko Mansion" What A Show! by sophienwa(f): 10:59am On Aug 10, 2009
THE AMAKA:

this shows that the show is rigged. come on!! if everyone on this site is so shocked that rita lost since the majority of the people are rita fans, it shows that this show was rigged.
rita was the most famous kokolete, she had the biggest fanbase, and the most votes, people were watching because of her.
but in the end Dbanj knows he cant pick a girl like her who isnt eloquently spoken and poise.
so therefore the show was rigged. it would have been hilarious to see dbanj with rita for one year. and rita holding public interviews. lol hahaha.
btw, youre pretty. smiley

having the biggest fanbase isnot necessarily the same as having the highest vote. i was a fan of bola BUT i didn't vote, people might have been making so much noise about rita but what she needed was votes not noise.

Genuflect:

@sophienwa Why do you people comment on something you know nothing about? Are you even Yoruba? 'Ori e Fokasibe' is a street slang that means you are an expert at what you do. Don't just slander songs when you don't know the meaning of it. Try and find out, which is what the poster is doing

first and foremost, my yoruba teacher, my being yoruba or not has nothing to dowith the song having any meaning or not. by the way the meaning you have given that statement has no relevance to where i am from, seeing as the direct translation is ''your head has scattered'' so enlighten me since you know sooo much about it.

Celebrities / Re: Segun Arinze Seeks Divorce-is This Guy Jinxed? by sophienwa(f): 5:43pm On May 27, 2009
if my memory serves me right, the child Anne njemanze had for him was named morenike and we all know that arinze is not his real surname.he is from the western part of the country probably badagry, he changed his surname when he started his music career in the early dayz cos he wanted a stage name with a bit of ummf . Anne's full name is Annette. the fact that a couple has separated does not mean that they are officially divorced, you know naija style now.anyway,i am sensing a link somewhere,; anyone else sensing it?
Celebrities / Re: Is Asa Gay? by sophienwa(f): 10:59pm On May 09, 2009
it is obviously just fictional becos when you think of the whole story especially the inclusion of the afin oba bit, the setting is just not right for it 2 b about her

fellybabe:

i've sign out on MARYKAY PRODUCT TOO. for the past 2 months i've been looking for their product in the popular drugstores in london and couldn't find any of their product.they don't even know it when i asked for the product. interesting u know but whyyyyyy
i had to vote for another better brand when i went to boot, body shop and superdrugs.

i used to think i'll never find a good concealer /foundation aside marykay's that will suit my skin but there are varieties of good brand.

you didn't find mary kay products in the stores cos they are not sold in stores.their products r sold thru their representatives and online(not sure about the online bit, just a guess).
Religion / Re: I Want To Become An Atheist by sophienwa(f): 8:40pm On Feb 24, 2009
first of all ,let us get one thing straight. what is atheism? Webster's dictionary defines it as  ''the belief in the non existence of God or gods'' or as another defines it ''the lack of belief in the existence of any God, gods or supreme being''.

now my question is, do you believe there is a God? if you do, then u r not an atheist. if you don't then you are. you do not need permission from anyone to be or not to be, it is all about your belief or lack of it as the case may be.

banom:

all these blablanla is not what i am after, i want to become one, period
and please if you know you are here to say your religious nonsence, keep it to your self, nothing will ever make me change my mind, i am tired of this confusion an violence called Religion.

my point is, the fact that you have not concluded that you are an atheist but want to be one suggests that you still believe there is a God hence coming across as confused ( do not take offence cos that was not meant as an insult). one more thing, you do not broadcast a lack of belief in something out of the blues otherwise it doesn't make sense. the fact is you must have felt strongly enough about God in order to state you want to be an atheist there4 my conclusion is, you are not convinced there is no God. my dear , WHO hurt you.

Celebrities / Re: Killers Of Lucky Dube 'thought He Was Nigerian' by sophienwa(f): 8:25pm On Feb 08, 2009
hackney:

How did they know he was mistaken for a nigerian? does that mean they caught the killers and asked them?

yes, they caught d killers and they've been charged with murder and when questioned, they said they did not know it was lucky dube driving the car they were trying to steal;they thought he was a nigerian. what i do not understand though is, they think it is okay to kill a nigerian in the process of robbing him but if they had known who it was, they wont have done it.in order words, nigerians are 2nd class human beings hence it is fine to kill them.
