CatfishBilly:You mean your atheist colleagues right? Are you also catfishbilly on facebook? On twitter? On whatsapp? On telegram? How did they recognise your moniker on whatsapp or telegram since you claimed that was where it went viral? Telegram and whatsapp are number registered and not letters. So you are clearly lying now. |
branhampaul:I am still eagerly waiting to read about the condition of the world that turned you atheist sir. |
dalaman:You left asking the one who said it never works for his proof and you are asking me? Catfishbilly this must be one of the "colleagues " you mentioned. |
JackBizzle:Please you always cause me to take from the embers of my common sense to respond to you and it is not helping me. Allow me to reason with chunks of it. |
dalaman:I think you should be directing your question to catfishbilly so he can show you his study from any hospital that absolutely shows that prayers do not work. Perhaps he would be willing to share extracts from his viral telegram or whatsapp chat group confirming this with you. |
CatfishBilly:That your thread was on the 11th of February and not last year. Why tell these lies? Why could you not post extracts of their comments as proof of your viral claim to buttress your thread. So I should just take your word for it? |
CatfishBilly:You are not making any sense. You just said your colleagues supported your position but it did not change their faith. Below was your comment. CatfishBilly: Well, when I made that thread, it went "viral" amongst my colleagues who recognized the my moniker and testimonies were shared about how prayers failed their patients too. But they still chose to believe in god despite the fact, So, it's applicable. Your position which I just showed you with your quote below "I'm yet to see a single case where prayers changed the Patient's fortunes. If I see one, trust me, I'll post it here." Speaks of a certitude and here you are saying it's your position yet in the first quote of yours here you said the words in bold text. So can I say you are not sure of they never stood by you but you alleged they did? |
CatfishBilly:You are an acclaimed doctor right? Would you believe a natural method when a medical specialist has exhausted all available medical knowledge on you being the patient in this scenario and then tells you that you have a barely 3 months to live since medically there is absolutely nothing they can do. Would you believe that doctor since he just left medicine and dropped to CHANCE? You who are also a specialist know that indeed there is nothing else that can be done. Would you believe this doctors prognosis or is it different from your position about prayer and chance? |
CatfishBilly:Can you link me to where it went viral on facebook or twitter? It couldn't have gone viral on whatsapp or BBm or telegram. Those are limited to participants but facebook and twitter are not limited. Care to share the link? |
CatfishBilly:Your reference was to your alleged "viral" thread where you declared that PRAYERS DO NOT WORK and you told Dr 90210 kind of stories to buttress that. Did you not say Prayers do not work? Assuming you never said prayers "never" worked it would mean 2 things. 1) you are not sure of your comment of prayers not working (so why make that declaration in an alleged "viral" post. 2. You are playing to the gallery . This is an extract from that thread below. Words in gold penned by your own hands. "I'm yet to see a single case where prayers changed the Patient's fortunes. If I see one, trust me, I'll post it here." Why then did you just lie that you NEVER said PRAYER NEVER WORKS? |
CatfishBilly:I just did a quick sweep of the thread in question where you said it went viral and your "colleagues " (implying fellow doctors) confirmed your stories. I am sorry but you do realise that you exaggerated a tad bit. All I saw were fellow atheists and not fellow colleagues (doctors) who confirmed your theory. Plus I also saw others who also said prayers did work. What would you make of their claims? Would you ask for proof of their claims since you didn't offer any of yours? Would you call their claims trash since it did not agree with your stories? |
CatfishBilly:So what you are trying to say is that your "colleagues " all said prayers never worked in their hospitals as well? How many were these colleagues of yours who gave you cause to term it "viral"? |
CatfishBilly:Viral? Really? You still haven't answered my question. Would you say this is applicable in all hospitals worldwide? |
Is there no atheist who is proud enough to declare in clear terms how he got his epiphany and chose to switch to atheism? If you can scrutinise everything and everyone else surely you wouldn't mind a bit of that scrutiny yourself would you? Except you just wish to be dodgy. |
JackBizzle:Jack please I beg you. Take your notorious inability for understanding simple statements elsewhere. DEISM IS THEISM BUT WITH A PHILOSOPHICAL APPROACH UNLIKE RELIGIOUS THEISM. IT IS THEISM BECAUSE DEISTS BELIEVE IN GOD BUT REJECT HIS WORLDLY INVOLVEMENT. i keep begging you to read in such a way which would enable understanding to get to you. |
branhampaul:I do not see how I could be trolling when all this is is healthy conversation or do you think otherwise? So can you now tell me the condition of the world which made you an atheist? |
CatfishBilly:So can you then answer my question. I asked if your claim that prayers were not answered in your hospital is applicable to all other hospitals worldwide? How people tend to view their prayers be it answered or not SHOULD be your concern if there was an unequivocal fact of unanswered prayers then that would make your claim and one of your steps to atheism absolute am I correct? |
I have got to run. Be back in a bit. |
NairalandSARS:Did you read the definition of the word LACK at all? |
CatfishBilly:Are those philosophers who accepted and also deduced the existence of God also bereft of intelligence? You are an acclaimed doctor and arrived at your atheism due to what you said were "unanswered prayers" in your hospital (yes I read it in your writings). Can you say this statement holds true IN ALL HOSPITALS worldwide? |
branhampaul:You asked me to show you and prove it to you that you actually said so by yourself under no compulsion. Can we got further now by reading about the condition of the world that led you to atheism? |
NairalandSARS:Alright then so the default state of man is a lack of belief and I already defined Lack to mean a deficiency or absence of something needed, desirable, or customary" Even the dictionary disagrees with your position based on the word LACK. You got introduced at age 4. You got introduced to what RELIGION or JESUS? I bet it was RELIGION because at 4 you couldn't even entirely dress yourself yet how much more making life impacting decisions. So how did you break away? That is the epiphany I wish to read about. |
NairalandSARS:So since you were INTRODUCED that means you received A DIFFERENT INTRODUCTION some time later on in life which Led to your atheism. Could you share that epiphany now? |
branhampaul:Prove what? Prove Your Own words? http://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/atheist and that definition is practically same in all online (website) dictionaries. |
KingEbukasBlog:I wouldn't call it senseless. I would say it's simply hope deprived. They are making sense but only to themselves. They cannot stray outside their bubble. I am in chill mood today so do not want to sound condescending or irritated. |
branhampaul:Some see things through rose tinted glasses while others do through thorns. A rose is absolutely beautiful yet has thorns. Despite the thorns people like you still say "AS BEAUTIFUL AS A ROSE." so perspectives differ. Tell me this world condition you are referring to. |
NairalandSARS:I already stated a clause. I WILL ONLY WORK WITH WHAT YOU GIVE ME AND NOT WHAT I PROPOSE. My epiphany isn't the focus. I am not the one who said "I DO NOT BELIEVE IN God or gods" am I? |
branhampaul:The comment in bold text isn't entirely true about you. You forget that it's the same website definition for your atheism you offered here. Plus you said THERE IS NO REASON TO BELIEVE IN A RELIGIOUS GOD and I want to share in this epiphany you have. |
branhampaul:I do not think you understand what you are saying and what I am saying as well. We have looked at lack and absence and given several definitions of them and you are taking us backward with this misunderstanding you have. Can you share those specific world conditions with us? |
NairalandSARS:Have you dropped your epiphany yet? Remember I said I will only work with what you give me and not what I propose. |
hopefulLandlord:y Curiosity killed the cat hopefullandlord! I do not seek appeal or a life long piece so if you pride yourself in threads and their length of existence I am not like you. Why are you not eager to share your personal epiphany here. It's my piece and since my intentions are only known to me I am perfectly on track by asking for it to be written here so I can read. Are you not proud of your epiphany? |
To my atheist friends all I ask is a LITERAL TASTE of what you have got and guard so jealously. You should be jumping at this opportunity to share how you got your epiphany especially since you are proud enough to declare your atheism openly on this website. Shouldn't you also be proud enough to also declare your epiphany? |
