Wow this is so funny. Well, I've always entered public transport and sometimes private car but abeg to get to where I'm going sharp sharp, na public transport tinz o. My boss' kids were rude to d driver one day from school, so rude that d almost 60yr old man called my boss to report, even while reporting over d phone, the children (both in secondary school) didn't stop d noise. My boss was infuriated, angry, mad that is it because God blessed these kids so they don't knw what their mates r going thru? Next morning at about 6am, my boss called me to meet her in her house sharply, since I was ready for work, I went. When I got there she said, "sparklie, I cald u because we r going to Oxbridge with public transport, I don't knw how to get there so u'll lead d way". The boys reaady for school, d younger one went to pick the car key from d usual place, d mum landed him one hot spicy slap. We got out of the house, trekked to d estate gate, chai see these boys begging, mummy, how can my friends see me coming down from a bus, mummy it will never happen again. We got to d estate gate, boarded keke, even my boss was shaking. She is also a rich kid. We got to ketu bustop na there both mama and children wan die, I told them we have to hustle for bus o cos everybody too is going out this morning! See mama dey shout, ehn hold ur laptop bag well o, if u like stand there let kidnappers catch u, in d bus sef after paying conductor, to collect change she no gree o, I told d guy to bring d thing sharply and I put it in my bag, plenty wahala. We entered d bus, see their faces as if they wanted to cut their privates. My boss was just looking round, holding her dress, covering her bag, checking if her phones and wallet still dey inside bag. When we got to Maryland, we got another bus that dropped us off opposite their school, so as their friends were being driven in, see as shame dey catch awon big boys When they entered d school, I now tld my boss, oya let's go bak to work now, she screamed, go where, no way am I getting on that thing again! She called her driver to come and pick us o. When we got to work, she told HR to stop deducting latenes fee henceforth cos she has felt what people go thru everyday to come here and what more if rain fell. This is so sad. You have a bf who is trying to make a honest and decent living and all u can do is to complain about the money for hair and phone he didn't buy for u. Oya shebi u don explain how the money take finish, make she kukuma carry d remaining chop na. Haba, she's a student meaning someone sent her to that school, if she wants a phone or wants to make her hair, let her tell her dad na. He should be solely responsibe for her upkeep untill she starts working. This babe is solely, consciously, intentionally, aggressively, optimistically, everything sha after ur wallet. I'm sure maybe she's trying to impress her friends with "my boyfriend got me this and that" achievement status. If u were my brother ehnnn! Chai! Today will be the end/final rememberance of this relationship o. If u have all d money to give her now and God forbid o, something happens to ur job and u can't really afford "hair and phone money". I'm also guilty of this o. I don't also knw how to help myself. It has even made me to start avoiding male folks cos I feel that anything that comes out of their mouth is embedded with lies even when they r speaking d truth. Yeaa, I was hurt wellu wellu, but I've tried moving on and I "think" I have. But I don't just see myself trusting. |

I really don't give beggars money again cos I heard plenty horrible stories about how they can use d money against the giver(s). Well had a couple of fine barras esp guys during unilag days in fornt of intercontinental bank opposite new hall. Haba lots of guys claiming they came for one sporting activity or d other and didn't know it would run for days or weeks and they've run out money and they need money to go bak. I never gave tho' cos if ur story is true, u can approach the sports committe u came for and they can sort u out! |

Haba now...let's take it easy on her....she's confued already. This issue is a two-way street. It may rock ur boat or sink it. Well for me, I have never spent a night at a cousin's place sef cos my father can never allow. I have never even been to my own hme town so to come and say one man said I should cme and spend some days with his family.....who will I open my mouth to tell in dat house! But ur fiance should know what he wants without all this "informal" interview na. So if u go and mama doesn't like u, what happens from there. Come to even think of it, mst ladies will fake the best of behaviour this period. So u have to form multi-tasking tinz (washing+cleaning-mopping+cooking+washing toilet+ mummy what else can I help you do). Pls, if he wants to marry u, let him d so! |

I've been waiting for a post like this. I'm a trained teacher. I went for Teacher's Grade II immediately after second. Sch and also studied Education in the University for 1st and 2nd degrees. Going fulltime into teaching has nt been a smooth ride. For the 3yrs I spent as a teacher, we practically worshipped parents and the children. Teachers will be reprimanded in front of the children. A child came upstairs during assembly one day and stole another child's biscuit. When the father was told, he said, "where was d teacher when my child was stealing, isn't she supposed to monitor him?" The other kids and I were already in d hall when this child went upstairs o. If a child should fail nko?! From school mgt and the parents, chai ur own don fry that day! "So when u knew the child didn't get this topic what methods did u as a teacher strategically put in place to make sure he grasped the concept". When u come talk the strategies wey u put in place, cme hear grammar, "that wasn't good enough". In the school where I taught, summer coaching was from 9am - 5pm as in teachers were used as glorified nannies. At 6:30 some parents haven't still come to pick their kids o. And when they get there no sorry at all. Like u also don't have a family. We will do parents dinner from 6-10pm, teachers will now stay bek to clear d hall. I've gotten home plenty times from school at to 12 in d night with my dad begging me to say d truth if it is teaching I'm doing abi there is something else. Lots of teachers husbands have come to carry their children from the school when they will wait at home till 7, 8 and dem no see their pikin. The period for class display competition nko?! U'll leave school late and still wake up at mid-9t to be cutting paper. Everything is done for d child. Practically, everything. A child didn't bring food to school, u call d parent, parent will tell u. I'm on d Island now with a client, sort his food out, I'll pay u when I come to pick him. And if u don't, u r being insensitive. Abeg plenty tori jare. Not like the pay was fantastic o. No time for urself and family. No time for anything! Round d clock u r doing smething for d kids and their parents to be "happy". In August, I dropped my resignation o.
