Thank you QSFemi

QSFemi:
If you're talking about labour cost per square metres only, then it ranges from #300 to #500 depending on your location and level of expertise of the tiler.

Hello house, please can you advise me on how much it cost for tiling work per square meter? A very good tiler please. Thank you!

Except it was discussed from the beginning in the plasering contract, the artisan can win the argument and insist it's not his work. Part of that work will include carpenters to dismantle the bamboo, then the patching could be argued to be a different work altogether.
Its neither here nor there.

Hmm! Thank you for your response.

Of course, the carpenter will be responsible for the losing and dismantling of the bamboo... however, the messin in this case mentioned that it's a standard everywhere for them not to patch it except it's discussed as a fresh job or you use the iron type of scaffold to avoid any opening. It's strange to me though. Anyways we will try and reach an agreement and maybe other people can comment too.

Oga Spyder,

Please I have a question. If one gives a messin the external plastering work and there after, the scaffolds removed; is it the same person's responsibility to fill the small holes where the bamboos passed through or it its a different (maintenance) job entirely. I am currently facing one of this argument with someone doing an external plastering work for me.

Thank you in advance for your response. @House you can contribute also.

The actual amount to complete the house hasn't been determined since we are still working on the building. We have a tiles budget of N4,950,000 for;

All wall tiles
All floor tiles
All staircase area tiles
All tilescement or any other accessories
Cement
Soft sand
Sharp sand
Transportation
Loading and offloading
Workmanship
Supervision

However, all prices of most building materials are rising steadily due to inflation, we dont know what will happen as regards tiles unit costs in the next few days but we are watching. This hike in fuel and energy prices is negatively affecting most items in the market.

Thanks.

I agree my brother, almost all building materials have sky rocketed. Some justifiable and others not. So it's really difficult to manage funds these days.

It is well o! That's what we can say.

Overall well done on your progress, good job.

Finishing is not included in the initial contract when I opened the thread, but I later took up the finish of the building on a different budget.

Wow! So now what's the total cost including finishing as the initial amount was 40 million naira.

By the way I am curious as to what amount can complete the tiling of this whole house including the stair way.

Thanks in advance.

Completed portions of the balustrade.....

This looks nice. However, considering cost aside choice, do you think this balustrade is cheaper than iron (not wrought) handrail constructed by the welders?

Just curious. Thanks

The house today.........

Well done the Spyder man. You are doing well.

Please how much did it cost you for the workmanship for the internal plastering and finishing? Perhaps I see that the doors and wooden frames haven't been done, but what is your projection? I mean all the internal plastering (under decks, all the rooms partition, e.t.c..)

Thanks

1. NOT COMPLETELY FINISHED (window location and dim)

2. I tried to achieve your initial sketch, so my design flows in similar pattern.

3. Let me know if you like it.. I'll finish and send on whatsapp.

Find sketch attached.

Goodluck as you build.
Now, I can sleep angry

Always avoid pariing the toilet/bath wall with living room, dining, or other space when it can be avoided. Except it's absolutely unavoidable.

HI...

FIND ATTACHED AS PROMISED (without Dimension Yet - incase you plan to review - but note; it is tight, and reviews might not be feasible).

IF OK - I'll send you the fully dimensioned plan on Whatsapp.

If you want the 2 bed before the self-con, we just mirror it
Regards.

Land size: 15m by 15m (50ft by 50ft)

Its open to criticism grin grin grin

Instead of making the master's bedroom toilet/bath share a wall with the kitchen, why not position it towards the first tight rooms' toilet/bath? That way your two toilet/bath will share the same wall.

Please what estimate of the bags of cement do you think would suffice for the external plastering of this project. Just the exterior only.

Thank you for you input, the work has not started yet and I wouldn’t mind waiting out for your modifications which will be of tremendous help to me. Thank you.

Sometimes I know people don't like to spend money for quality services... however, it's not advisable to be penny wise and pound foolish.

I will advise you to get an architect and request for a professional drawing that includes your electrical, structural, and mechanical settings and parameters. Spend the money now and have peace of mind when your project starts. All these help me correct or review this or that is not good. When you have an error in the cause of the project who would you hold responsible? Remember, it's more expensive to amend something that should have been done correctly ab initio later.

My 2 cent!

Thank you so much. I’m at the verification stage and like you said it’s taking so long. Different excuses; “no light in school, laptop isn’t working, pay me some money to make it faster”.

I guess I’ll keep pushing. Thank you again.

You are welcome.

Most likely they ain't checking it even. Because like I said, I think the language barrier is the issue. Where do you reside? If you are in Lagos, I will advise you travel down to Cotonou even if it's the full day just to follow it up and see that they responded back to WES.

Good evening everyone. Trying to conclude ECA with WES. I went to Houdegbe North American University in Cotonou, Benin Republic for my BSc. (kinda regret it, long story though). Is there anyone here who successfully got a positive ECA for a degree from Houdegbe?
Tried to search the entire thread, couldn’t find anything.

Hello,

Yes, I did one from HNAUB, although not mine. They request for 60K CFA to send your transcript and certificate/result to WES Canada through a DHL service. It usually get to Canada by the 3rd day. The only process that takes time is for them to respond to the query from WES Canada. I guess it's because of the language barrier. However, what I did in my case was to get someone go directly to the office and help them reply the email back to WES Canada and it was fixed and WES concluded the verification.

Hello House,

Apologies if this question has been answered before.

- Please is it only one (1) police report that is needed for a family application?
- What are the names of recommended hospitals for medicals in Lagos? Any idea the amount for a family of three (3)?

Appreciate your responses.

This is my story, short but inspiring.

1st IELTS attempt with BC (10th Nov 2018)
Saw my result on the 24th Nov 2018 as follows: LRWS = 5.5, 7, 7, 7.5 (overall band 7)
# I knew my listening result would be a mess right from the time I finished the exams because I went blank at a point and did not concentrate to follow up the questions. Although, I did not bother because I trust my ability. So I immediately register for another exams

2nd IELTS attempt with IDP MOD (1st Dec 2018)
Saw my result on the 14th Dec 2018 as follows: LRWS = 8.5, 8, 6.5, 8.5 (overall band cool
# I was a bit disappointed with my writing score because I knew what I wrote and deserve more than 6.5. So I opted in for an EOR the same day (14th) and requested for a remark on my writing. Fast forward 8th Jan 2019 (exactly 25 days), i received an email from IDP MOD saying "We are pleased to inform that we have received the outcome of your remark. Please be informed to complete the form below and avail us with the scanned copy via email." Immediately I checked online again for my result, behold it has changed from 6.5 to 7.

So my new result is: LRWS = 8.5, 8, 7, 8.5. With this result I am good to go for the express entry profile creation as my point alongside my spouse is now over 450 points.

My advise: If you know what you have written and received a below expectation result, kindly go for EOR. A trial is not a crime, go for it. Wish you guys the best of luck for those still trying the IELTS exams.

Hello, Please could you share with me the Australia email contact? Thanks

Rode20:
Congratulations to all who received ITA, PPR and COPR.

I will like to share my EOR experience with you all. My first Ielts on the 13 of October my result was LSRW 8,8,6.5,6 . while my second attempt on the 10 of November the result was LSRW 8.5, 6.5,7,7. I cried, because I was disappointed since my speaking result in my first attempt was 8 and now as low as 6.5. Actually on the test day when I noticed the examiner was a woman my heart skipped, cos as an HR personal I know female examiner's tend to be quite strict with another female. But quickly cleared the thought from my head and gave it my best. Unfortunately my speaking result was 6.5. So I immediately applied for an EOR copied Australia just as one of us did on this trend. To my Surprise after 10 days from when the EOR was acknowledged by MOD, I mailed IDP Australia to confirm they had received my EOR, the response was that it has not been sent contact your test center. I mailed MOD again they said it was sent but when I mailed Australia again they confirm it had not been received. I had mixed feelings and lost hope in the whole process. After some days IDP Australia confirmed they just received it close to 3 weeks after I applied for the EOR.

Just got a mail now that the outcome of my EOR was ready and my refund. So quickly checked online and saw the speaking had changed to 7.5. Am so excited now my result is LSRW 8.5, 7.5, 7, 7.

I will like to draw the attention of anyone applying for EOR once you are sure of yourself to please follow-up... I wonder if they ready had the intention of sending it to Australia in the first place
