As nairalanders always say ' Epic reply' lollszz ![]() On a serious note what is wrong with the guy's question? Public institution social media handlers should be civil in their response biko. |
@ =Autophys1 1. The size of the baby should not be too big. Personally I was praying for around 3kg but he came smaller. 2. The previous CS must have been done by a qualified ob/gyn. My gynea had to confirm that To ensure the integrity of the scar. 3. At the later stage of the pregnancy the baby should have engaged. 'Head down towards the birth canal' 4. Have adequate time between the two pregnancies. Kindly read more here https://www.babycenter.com/0_vaginal-birth-after-cesarean-vbac_1420895.bc |
rosybabyy:Hello, sorry I am just seeing this. Hope you are feeling better now. With just one CS Vbac is very possible however I met a lady at the hospital where I gave birth who had myomectomy done previously. She was placed on 'trial of labour and after sometime she didn't progress significantly and they had to section her. I understand all cases are different though |
This is only meant to encourage a sister out there who wish to try Virginal birth after ceasarian VBAC. My first baby was delivered about two years ago via an emergency ceasarian section. In summary I walked into the hospital for ante natal on my EDD and during routine examinations they claimed the baby's heart rate had dropped and she was in a condition 'fetal distress' so I needed to be sectioned to get the baby out ASAP. In less than 30 mins baby was out and I was in recovery. Last year October I found out I was pregnant again, after the excitement wore off I began to recall how my previous delivery went from birth to the time it took for the wound to heal not to mention my scar formed keloid so it is not invincible as they told me it would be. The thought of VBAC came up and I started researching. Thankfully I found out that certain conditions have to be met before one becomes a candidate for VBAC, I noted those conditions and kept checking as my pregnancy progressed. I discussed my findings with my doctor who strongly disagreed with me. Infact he said it will be a lot easier to have an elective CS scheduled because of the previous section so we don't do trial of labour and I end up with a ruptured womb. But I was bent on trying VBAC so I asked questions around and a family friend recommended an ob/gyn she knows in a different state. I made arrangements , travelled down, after his assessments he said I had 80% chance of delivering on my own. Haha that was more than I needed, armed with that info I returned to base and began preparing for delivery. On Saturday 27th may 2017 my waters broke ( spontaneous rupture of the membrane) after a night of diarrhoea. I immediately began to panic because my EDD was still 3 weeks away and I was not in the town I planned to birth. Anyway my husband decided it's best we get packing and hit the road that early morning. Called the doctor on the way and he assured me not to worry babies don't just pop out because the waters have broken like in Hollywood movies. I got to the hospital around 11 am, I was examined and sent home on erythromycin( anti biotic) with the instructions to return soon as I had strong contractions (5 mins apart) or after 48 hours ( Monday morning) if no contractions. I waited and waited no contractions , I walked, did squats, ate ewedu leaves, prayed still no serious contractions. By Monday morning 48 hours had elapsed so I packed and checked into the hospital. Before I got there my room had been set with pitocin iv waiting for me, labour had to be induced. They started the induction around 12 noon, contractions came more frequent by 2.30 and by 6pm I was in labour room shouting ' I am tired o, I don't want again'. Hmmm whoever said labour is not painful certainly lied! Joyfully happily after the screaming and shouting and crying and assistance via vacuum my prince made a grand entrance at 6.25 pm same day ( Monday 29th may 2017 after 4.5 hours of labour) weighing 2.5 kg at 37 weeks but in perfectly good condition. I felt like an achiever holding him in my arms a few moments after birth and surprisingly my energy returned with a fresh boost. Slept over in the hospital that night and got discharged 7.30 am the next morning. All in all I give God the glory, and the amazing, patient doctor and midwives at Belmont specialist hospital kaduna who ensured I had a VBAC just so my delivery story will be complete. Like I said at the beginning this is to encourage someone who wants to try, if you meet the conditions, go for it! There is nothing the human body cannot achieve. Shalom! N.b if you have any questions regarding what to expect or my experience I will be willing to answer but bear in mind I am by no means an expert in this field, I draw my conclusions from personal experience and interactions with my ob/gyn during my VBAC journey. |

Update : So we received a release that gave more info about MadeInAba.com.ng. You know the basics – it’s an e-commerce site that’ll make all (or most of) the products that are made in Aba available to buyers from all parts of Nigeria. What you don’t know is: There’ll be a customer-protection feature where payments won’t be released to merchants until customers receive their purchases and confirm they are satisfied with them. Merchant/manufacturer profiles will come with verification tags to help customers decide who to buy from. Verified profile will be discernible from non-verified ones. There’ll be physical stores where customers can buy MadeInAba products. The stores will offer wholesale and retail services and will take orders from customers, contact the producers and ensure delivery. There should be MadeInAba stores in Lagos and Abuja by next year. Merchants who sign up for free can post up to 50 products of their on the site. Source: same as above |
As a Nigerian from the North I find this really news worthy! Yes it is made in Aba by our brothers from the other side and I am proud of this development because it would help to showcase the skills and talents they have to a wider audience. I am sure in no time, the quality of their products will improve and compete favourably with made in Italy stuff at the International market. I had to share the goodnews on nairaland! MadeInAba.com.ng, An E-Commerce Platform For Products Made In Aba, Is Launching On October 1 Mark Essien thinks setting up a company in Rwanda is like driving a Tesla, while setting up a company in Ghana is like riding horse and chariot. That’s fair. Methinks setting one up in Nigeria is like trying to sell Gala sausages to someone in traffic, only that the bus driver insists on driving as fast as Lagos traffic will allow him, meandering from lane to lane. Did I mention that you have your 18-month old child strapped to your back, and Lagos State government officials are chasing you because appaz, hawking is illegal? Don’t mind me. There’s better news. Yesterday, Sam Hart (Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Abia State, Nigeria) announced MadeInAba.com.ng on Twitter. On October 1, the Alibaba-Jumia Hybrid (as he described it) will officially launch, and give the rest of the country access to the products made in Aba. Context, for those who don’t live here: Aba is located in South East Nigeria, and is home to lots of artisans who make shoes, bags, belts, clothes, etc. The “Made In Aba” trope is one that’s typically used to look down on these products as inferior (it’s not helped by the fact that some of them are imitations of Western brands), but the Abia State government is turning that narrative on its head. If MadeInAba.com.ng is properly executed, it will give these traders/producers a much larger market to sell to, than the people (mostly resellers) who are brave enough to take a trip to that neck of the woods. When I read biographies of real life super heroes like this, all I can say is WOW! Godfearing + Multitalented #blessingtohumanity |
tunbebes:Hmmmmn unfortunately I lost my mum in 2014 a few months after I got married. But thank you for the kind wish |
Use an auxilliary cable. Put one end into your phone, and the other into the aux port in your car. That way you can play music from your phone through your car stereo and also make handsfree calls. |
My mother in law stays with us weekdays and returns to her house on weekends because we live in the same city. To be frank at first I was not comfortable with the arrangement but when I asked the price of day care near my office and it was way too much (40k monthly), I began to appreciate the favour she is doing us by staying to take care of the baby while I go to work monday through friday. Now we are really really close, We watch Zee world together after I get back from the office and she even assists to make dinner on the days I return late. If I were to choose all over again, I would still prefer her to stay with us because her presence has been a blessing and a stress reliever. Op the choice is yours, weigh it well! |
youngest85:Hehe as she wicked the guy na #whatgoesaround |
I watched the mayowa's plea video and all I can say is she really looks ill and lean, beyond all these media circus going on, I pray the Lord heals her in his infinite mercy. |
Hello, is there anyone enrolled for Msc IT in Abuja study center? |

Nice thread. Let me dust my aba slippers and upload. ![]() Below are my baby's chest of drawers and laundry basket. Instead of buying the imported plastic drawers I decided to patronise a lady carpenter to make this for me and its super beautiful. #buynija

End T head.. So soon mama nkechi can decide to get kim k's body. It's alright On a serious note, it sounds amazing and scary at the same time. Surgoens in the house kindly explain, are they going to take dead person's body and fix the head of a living person on it? |
Quite unfortunate op but thank God either you or your mother did not sustain any physical injuries. It is a good thing you were able to chase the ole. May God continue to protect us all. |
@hajarahbadmus and other stay at home moms firstly I must commend you guys because it is not an easy JOB being a mom, cook, cleaner, errand person, washer man, playmate and wifey all together so kudos. But you really don't have to be bored at home, there are other jobs you can do as a stay at home mom. For example you can learn embroidery/ monogramming and work from home, you can learn how to make pastries, cakes, small chops and start taking orders from home, you may even opt to be a middle person buying grains, eggs and whatever food item people consume daily and start selling at retail in your locality, for the bookworms I am sure you can find a proof reading job somewhere online to do or better still you can enrol in Nigerian Open university for masters or phd from the comfort of your home. Unfortunately I don't have the luxury of time even though my Lo is 7 months old I work full time from 8am - 5 pm since she was 4 months old. Sometimes i wish i could stay home and be a #supermom like you guys! |
Unfortunately this is true. I was shocked to hear this last year when one of the rescue homes visited our church with the children. Most of them were twins below 10 years of age. To think this sort of a barbaric act happens in Abuja so close to civilization. Sad indeed |
hadidej:How can I contact you? |
Heheh what cracked up is the way the guys are really hurling big insults at the wonder gal. E b like say na her former toasters because it is obvious the thing pain them well. Anyway she sef upon all the single guys wey dey lag na her friend pap she choose to follow? And I see him doing it with so much pride.#cool By the way op from the posts on his facebook I didn't see where they said girlfriend o, it is his wife's bag so please change your title. |
Like someone asked hope it's not too much algae. |
Watching with 3d glasses. Now that sugarbelly and mustapha's drama has mellowed another entertaining story line has begun... That her 300k monthly upkeep money is more than what most civil servants who work 8am - 5pm daily earn. She picked a very lucrative career indeed ![]() |
