bknight: Make contact first on NL.
1. When u see a moniker u like, engage her on her post/topic being discussed first so she notices ur handle.
2. Next, follow her on NL. If she follows back (expectedly, at this stage, she must have delved beyond ur profile page into ur comments), then there might a bit of luck.
3. Send the PM, then find a thread she's on and tell her she's got a mail, if she replies...

Goodluck.

Same as my thought. Since they have so many ibo guys in delhi my guess is one of them fathered the child who founded this bank cheesy

Good initiative but cant this lead to children stealing as well just to deposit in their bank account because i really do not see how a street kid is suppose to work and earn money to save without learning some bad habits along the line i.e pick pockets, bag snatchers etc
Christianity Etc › Re: Is Oral Sexx a Sin Before God? by specialguest(f): 3:05pm On Jan 05, 2014
In my opinion MouthAction after marriage is not a sin. After two becomes one, whatever you do with each other's body is ok provided there is a mutual consent between both parties. As for sex generally between unmarried partners we were told that's a sin regardless of whether it is oral, anal, missionary or whatever

Intresting. Never thought of Edo, all I hear of is Yankari games reserve in bauchi and obudu cattle ranch in Cross rivers.

Travel › Re: Travelling To India by specialguest(f):
I guess that "someone" travelling is you coz you seem abit nervous with your questions.

The cheapest airline I know of from Abj or Lagos to Delhi or mumbai is Ethiopia-n airlines. You can compare rates for all airlines on wakanow.com so as to determine the cheapest.
Secondly the farther your intended date of travel the cheaper the ticket.
General Info?
*carry your yellow fever card
*100 dollars is equivalent to 6000 plus rupees
*have a hotel reservation or the address of where you would be staying handy because immigration would ask.
*pay for a prepaid cab @ d airport to take you to your destination if no one is picking you up instead of the private taxi"s. Trust me, I know why.
*when you visit places like INA market, Select city walk, Sarojini Nagar and any other place our Nija brothers hang out please be careful and choose your friends wisely.
*Hotels in big cities like Delhi and mumbai are not so cheap.
*i know Indian girls are pretty but if you are a guy endeavour not to look at them twice else they would cry you raped them.
*indian food is spicy but not tasty so opt for mongolian/chinese alternatives.
*finally I hope you ain't planning on over staying your visa there coz Indian police are not smiling with illegal immigrants anymore.

Did I mention the Indians are just as corrupt as Some Nigerians? So be sure to watch your money closely, bargain for low prices when buying anything and count your change well.

Safe flight!

yinkard4me: My friend has never used a condom before, not dat he doesn't buh his rod always tears it. And he's a monogamous guy, he has just one galfrnd in his life aside his lovely pregnant fiance back @ home and DO dis babe like morning, afternoon and evening(we dey serve so d babe get him tym well). He uses withdrawals method and d gal has never been pregnant for Him. Mind u, he has a pregnant fiance back @ home. My long epistle implies dat some guys are really good using dis method.
Did you say he is "a monogamous guy"? If having a pregnant fiancee back home and another corper girlfriend elsewhere makes a guy "monogamous" that means the word polygamous should be removed from the dictionary as it already has a substitute

DailyNews: Haven spent some considerable time on this forum reading peoples' comments, threads and participating when necessary, I have come up with a list of the best female nairalanders that other females on nairaland should emulate.

This is to encourage them to keep being nice, cool-headed and mature not just on nairaland but in real life even beyond and to also encourage others to try and emulate good thing.

Disclaimer: this is my personal opinion based on my own long observation. I don't know most of the people I am going to list here, and I don't intend to know them beyond nairaland...but if I were to recommend a friend, a lover or a wife for any guy I like- be it my brother, cousin, friend or colleague, I would definitely recommend any of these females going by their nairaland character and carriage.

I may miss some names, I am not a span bolt to know all handles, but from the few I know, these handles represent the best females on nairaland.

Pls if your name didn't appear on my list, don't feel bad...its just my own personal opinion and observation, doesn't mean that u are bad...maybe I haven't observed u much.

0. 190 (the best nairaland transgendergrin)

Dear Lord please give that bitter woman on this thread a man that can look beyond her leaking mouth and marry her so she can reduce her many frustrations that are evident by the kind of envious stuff she writes. Amen

And you Lady, watch your mouth. If you have issues with me deal with it, but stop over emphasising/obsessing about my fiance and in laws. You are nothing but a trouble shooter and an unrepentant sadist! Isn't it obvious that you are not welcomed here with the negative energy you exude?

dave07: Nice development. Just looking forward to it stopping the custom &immigration from dipping hands into personal lugaggage in the name of searching and subjecting helpless travellers to frequent bag opening and closing. Like someone also noted, this is needed ASAP at the Arrival hall
You are right, I find that highly inconsistent with global practice. I really wish they would install baggage scanners at the arrival halls s instead of subjecting travellers to cumbersome and some times annoying manual luggage checks.

What is wrong in calling your pastor Daddy?
In our African culture among Igbos and Yorubas, we often call our male elders "Papa" or "Baba" and female elders "Mama" or "Mummy".
It is for RESPECT and a blessing for humility.
I am neither Yoruba nor Igbo and since the nature of respect shown to elders differ from one culture to another, in mine for instance the words 'baba meaning daddy and mama meaning mummy' are reserved for ones biological or adopted parents to a certain extent. I may wish to address someone else outside my parents as baba and mama but that is solely at my own discretion and it depends on the nature of relationship between myself and the person.
A member should be under no obligation to be made to refer to his pastor by a particular "pet name" . If he were present i would simply say Goodmorning Sir, please may i see you? but since he wasn't anywhere in sight i saw his wife and greeted her Goodmorning ma, please is pastor around?

I believe that is RESPECT not when i call him daddy in her presence just to get attention.

Mintayo: You are just too correct!
I wonder what she stands to gain by posting it on NL,i guess she is enjoying d attention she is getting...smh.
I will say it again,i don't believe the Op.
Op,when u get married, call ur inlaws by name ok?
If you were a pastor Mintayo and your full names are Mintayo abc, I see nothing wrong in calling you pastor Mintayo abc.

As for my inlwas, you should know that marriage is the coming together of two families. His family automatically becomes my family and all due respect will be accorded them. The Bible was clear enough on that regarding marriage.
As a christian, you are the body of Christ not and the "body" of your pastor. However if you find it Interesting calling your pastor daddy, to each one his own.

Yes, I did. And I found nothing rude about them, just a woman standing up for herself.
The other post of hers I've read - a few months ago - was about how she has been taking care of her mother, so I know she's someone with a good head on her shoulders.

In some churches like mine, before you get wedded you are required to undergo marriage counselling. Hence the basis for our visit yesterday.
On second thoughts, why not speak to him about this and get his thoughts / views on it?

For all you know, he might be cool with being called Pastor ABC...
You are right, I have it in mind to ask for his opinion on this matter when next I meet with him one on one. He is a very level headed man of God but just like someone said his wife might send people away from his ministry.
I stand to be corrected if at all I was wrong which I know I wasn"t but not in a harsh manner or in the presence of everyone.
Christianity Etc › Re: The 'Daddy-Mummy Syndrome' In Nigerian Churches by specialguest(op): 8:17pm On Dec 22, 2013
For clarification purpose my pastor and his wife are from the east, I am a northerner and the church I attend is a popular church with branches all over Nigeria however my parish is in Abuja. That said, thank you all for your contributions.
I created this thread yesterday because I wanted to find out if I was wrong by referring to a pastor as pastor-his name, however after going through most of the replies on this thread, it is safe to conclude that it is not compulsory to address our pastors as daddy and mummy. Bearing that in mind, I went to church today, sat on the front row, sang my heart out without allowing yesterday"s drama to interfere with my worship.
I really do feel a lot better now and I pray God puts a sense of Humility in our spiritual leaders, may they walk in the footsteps our Lord and Saviour Jesus christ. Amen

bknight: He's a pastor. And his name is sunday Akpan?

Jst refer to him as Pastor Akpan.
God bless you bknight! You said it as it should be. @ Aluta I asked pastor Mrs after pastor all she should have said is he is around or he is not around. Not asking me which pastor and if I am referring to her husband as pastor instead of daddy. He is my pastor 1st of all before anything else. If along the line I find a mentor in him and we build a father daughter relationship fine, but I shouldn't be chastised for calling him pastor abc.

You can say that again! I am trying so hard to get this off my mind and go to church this morning but a part of me keeps reminding of yesterday"s incident. I mean the same woman might be on the altar today( you know most Nigerian pastor"s wives are automatically pastors too) and my thoughts towards her are not pure anymore. How am I supposed to listen to her sermon?

On a brighter note her husband is a pastor of high standing. Very nice and open to all members. If only I met him yesterday instead of the wife all these would not have happened.

May God have mercy on us all.

Woged2005: It's Ok to respect people. However, respect is earned and not forced on people. My Rev Fr once said "if someone have to remind you he is a Christian, he's probably not, because Christianity is seen in your style of living. Like a lamp, you cannot light it and put it under the table. It shows people the way to life"

At no point in life should someone give up power over him/herself to someone else be it a Governor, pastor, or bishop. You can only have respect for the position they occupy. Over the years human beings have shown they are untrustworthy, selfish and unreliable. Most couple who allowed pastors to meddle in their marriage are divorced today. Start now to avoid that. The next thing they tell you you must 'Obey your Daddy and Mummy'. He is not your 'Daddy', he is your pastor. Period!
Thank you woged2005, sophierocks, cybrass, emmyk, titiluvly and fijiano202 for you well articulated opinion on this matter and offcourse adeoba10 for making me laugh.

Like I always say, we Africans like to take things to the extreme. I doubt if this mummy daddy thing in some of our churches exist in other continents. Respect must be given to those in higher authority as you rightly said but the manner of presentation should be at an individual"s discretion.
