Former Nigeria goalkeeper  Raymond King has died on Monday at the age of 52.

.According to King’s former teammate, Taju Disu, the former Abiola Babes keeper died at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja, after he was transferred from the Ikorodu General Hospital.

King was last week reported to be down with partial stroke and memory loss, and was initially admitted at the State Hospital, Ijaye, Abeokuta, Ogun State.

Obasanjo’s Son Shot By Boko Haram In Adamawa, As Military Retakes Bama

Lieutenant Colonel Adeboye Obasanjo of the 3rd Division, Jos, Plateau state was Monday shot in an attack by Boko Haram in Baza in Adamawa State.

Reports have it that terrorists attacked a platoon led by Obasanjo, killing 24 soldiers and he, sustained gunshot wounds to the leg.

At the time of the incident, Major Gen JS Zaruwa, Colonel Victor Ebhaleme who serves as the Brigade Commander of the 23rd Army Brigade in Yola and Lieutenant Agwu were all together advancing towards Michika when Boko Haram fighters ambushed them and unleashed the deadly attack on the soldiers. Lieutenant Adeboye Obasanjo is son of former President Olusegun Obasanjo.

In another development, a senior official said on Monday that Nigeria’s military has recaptured the flashpoint town of Bama in northeast Borno state from Boko Haram and blocked the Islamist militants’ advance towards the state capital Maiduguri,.

He said government forces are also fighting a southward push into neighboring Adamawa state by the group, which recently has departed from its usual hit-and-run tactics and started to seize towns and territory.

The government source, who asked not to be named, said Boko Haram fighters had been driven from Bama, 70 kilometers southeast of Maiduguri. Government warplanes have bombed and strafed the militants after they stormed Bama last week.

“Bama has been recaptured by the soldiers and I can confirm to you Maiduguri is safe,” the official in Abuja told Reuters.

A mysterious spacecraft, which residents of Awotan in Oyo State described as a “drone”, was said to have crashed into a building in the community, just as aviation sources confirmed the object as a United States’Drone on an espionage mission in Nigeria.According to Nigerian Tribune, a source said the spacecraft must have taken off from NASA base in Texas in the US, considering the registration number, TX 5803, inscribed on a black battery beneath it.The craft flew into a toilet in the house of Ashipa of Awotan, Chief Tajudeen Adetoro, a few minutes after his grandson, Afeez Adewale and daughter-in-law, Adikat, left the toilet where they had gone to answer the call of nature.The residents of the sleepy community said that the object was not a toy due to the fearful noise it made and the way it flew about, adding that it could be an explosive.“When it flew out, we rushed after it and it was found hanging on the antennae of our neighbour…making a terrible noise and emitting heavy smoke,” Chief Adetoro narrated.

The crime of produce happened on a Website called Gumtree. According to the Herald Sun, the 21-year-old scam victim placed an ad asking if anyone had an iPhone for sale.

She got a response from another woman who said she could sell her two. The two met at a McDonald’s where the buyer handed the seller $1,200 and was handed two “iPhone boxes that looked new.” The woman didn’t check to see what was inside.

She finally looked once she got home, and found fruit, not phones, inside.

Police from the Queensland town of Upper Mount Gravatt, near Brisbane, pointed out that people should be “wary” when buying online.

"Don't stay away, because most people are doing the right thing, but be smart about what you buy," Senior Constable Jess Hopkin told the Herald Sun.

Commenters on the Web were less kind. Andrew Perrott wrote on the Independent, “The sheer stupidity of some people defies belief.”

Marcin Karpinski added, “Nowadays, phones are smarter and more intelligent than their owners.”

A third offered, “ I have an Xbox box for sale.”

Has anybody done HND certificate evaluation with WES? i will like to know if you need to submit OND transcript with it. the two qualifications were earned from differents school millessssss apart!to get the HND transcripts na serious whahala and the OND school is a no go area now (Ramat Polytechnic).

what they re asking are questions to make non experienced applicants like me to understand the details. You don't have to abandon us. Well, I haven't sat for the english test(no space for British council may be by june and my transcript is yet to be sent by my school. The point is I can't see my application reaching there until 1st week of july. I'm sceptical about it, thinking of those asian guys. Is there a way someone can know how many applications they have received at a point in time? I did checked on some sites but they are not updated. Pls house give me ur opinion on this?

This forum worth more than so many fraudulence immigration lawyer out there. The way I'm seeing it now, from discussions I believe 90% of submitted applications will have one error or incomplete information issue. Think about this; certificate evaluation process that takes months, english test that takes weeks and some other key requirements like proof of fund ( CAND 11,000 no be small do).

Federal Government has concluded arrangements to
scrap the National Examination Council.
Plans have also been concluded to cancel the Unified
Tertiary Matriculation Examination being conducted by
the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board for
applicants into the nation’s tertiary institutions.
JAMB will however not be scrapped.
The government’s decisions, which would be made
public soon via a White Paper, are based on the
recommendations of the Stephen Oronsaye-led
Presidential Committee on the Rationalisation and
Restructuring of Federal Government Parastatals,
Commissions and Agencies.
A government source told our correspondent that the
decisions were part of the recommendations made by a
White Paper Committee set up by the government on
the Oronsaye report.
The source added that upon receipt of the latest report,
President Goodluck Jonathan has been meeting with
Vice-President Namadi Sambo and a few top
government officials to take final decisions on it.
It was in one of such meetings held on Tuesday that the
final decision was taken.
Under the new arrangement, the source said in place of
UTME, authorities of all tertiary institutions would now be
at liberty to conduct their entrance examinations as they
had been doing for post-UTME.
JAMB will however serve as a clearing house.
“JAMB will now be a clearing house like Universities and
Colleges Admissions Service in the UK. If somebody
gains admission into three universities and holds down
space, immediately such person picks his first choice,
JAMB’s system will automatically free the remaining two
slots for other applicants.
“JAMB will no longer conduct examinations but it will be
setting the standard alongside the schools authorities,”
the source said.
UCAS, which was established in 1993, is the British
admission service for students applying to university and
college, including post-16 education as of 2012. UCAS is
primarily funded by students who pay a fee when they
apply and a capitation fee from universities for each
student they accept.
On NECO, the source said in arriving at the decision to
scrap the examination body, the committee took into
cognizance its huge facilities across the country.
But it was resolved that the West African Examination
Council would absorb NECO’s members of staff and its
facilities.
WAEC will also be empowered to conduct two Senior
Secondary School Certificate Examinations per year, one
in January and the other probably in December.
Hitherto, only one November/December SSCE
Examination is being conducted.
The May/June Senior Secondary Certificate Examination
being organized by the examination body once in a year
still stands.

Now if they could just find the "stairway to heaven", we'd all be happy.
