Recently, why the regular news of 'one chance' in Port Harcourt? I left the city some years ago and it was not like that.

I schooled in Port Harcourt and worked briefly there before I left. It definitely wasn't like this. Recently, a lady who used to be my neighbor reached out to me for financial assistance to do surgery. She boarded a bus and was attacked. As if robbing her wasn't enough, they broke her arm.
Barely 2 weeks ago, a medical doctor was stabbed to death and his corpse dumped on the express by these evil people. It was said that he boarded the bus around SPAR . His body was found around Genesis , by Market Junction.

In my opinion, the Rivers state government is not ready to address this problem.

You are CAPPING.
Doctors join service at 9 and 10 and 300 to 400k is the pay for that level. Asides other bonuses they earn which is not part of their salary

Doctors join Federal Civil service at level 13 and states used to be at 12 but with the skipping applied, some states also started at level 13.. and the salary with bonuses included is not up to 500K.

Akwa Ibom state is employing now.. Medical and dental officers to join the civil service at level 13.
Resident doctors also start at level 13

My parents separated after 29 years and lived apart for 4 years .

Entry level for doctors on level 13 (both state and federal) is not up to 500K. Few private hospitals in Abuja, Port Harcourt, Lagos and maybe Warri , can pay such.

Every doctor knows that HIV can by contracted by many other ways other than sex.

The fact that a beautiful girl tested positive does not mean she contracted from sexual contacts.

If he is truly a doctor, he needs to do better.

If you want to sanitize people about the virus, you need to do more than kneel down and say zip up, as if everyone living with HIV was wayward.

In Sub Saharan Africa, 80% of HIV transmission is through Heterosexual sex(man and woman).
Here , in the West, it's mostly through homosexual sex(man and man).

Safe sexual practises will reduce HIV transmission in Africa drastically.
Everybody living with HIV was not wayward..
There is no reason to have unprotected sex with anyone if you are not married to that person.

My mother is a case study, a struggling widow who lost her husband 3 years into marriage. She sold moi-moi under her old umbrella around bars and plaza, she hoarded loans and trained the only two children she had through the university.

The selflessness and sacrifices she made was the only motivation I needed that saw me not just graduating with a first class degree, but emerged the BGS in my department and faculty.

His lifeless body was found on the road on Sunday morning. He was buried today in his hometown in Bayelsa.
