22 whole years. Some people will come here to shout IVF but they forget that it doesn't work for everybody.
I Thank God for them

It's IVF,no matter how you want to look at it.
Male factor infertility, actually.
Nigerian men only stay in a childless marriage for long when the cause of the infertility is from their side.

With a donor egg and donor sperm,IVF works.
Besides, you don't know how many times they tried .

22 years is a very long time for natural conception to have occurred.

So calm down.

Family / Re: I'm Tired, My Husband Is Mentally Challenged by spiceadole: 3:46pm On Jul 30, 2023
beautifulsoul12:
Good morning everyone. I have to create this account to post this.
I can't even sleep at night lately.

I'm so tired and I need help right now. I have been doing this all by myself for so long now, without much complain but now, I need help.
Before I got married to my husband, I didn't know he had a seasonal mental health challenge, but not violent.

I met him in the university, he was in medicine, he had dreams, very ambitious, one of the best in his department, Working his way to travel abroad to continue his education. We were just friends, but I liked him. He kept on asking me out, but I declined. I wanted to graduate first.
We parted ways in year two. He changed school, so, I knew nothing about him again till years later.
Reconnected with him years later after graduation, to my greatest surprise, he didn't graduate, wasted all his resources and couldn't travel out. We still love each other, so we got married.
after the birth of my first child, I wanted to leave him, but I couldn't because he was a good man, but with too many changes and I was the only one who truly care and was there for him.
Three years ago, he became much better. He got a small job, Started bringing in little for upkeep. I saw change and I was happy. We had our second child last year after 8yrs.
Since early this year, the whole thing came up again. Since then, he became jobless again.
The financial burden is all on me. Right now, we can't afford to renew our rent.
I lost my business capital some times ago in wrong business, since then, it has been so much struggles.

I'm trying hard but it's not enough.
I'm thinking of working away, but to where? what about my children? Who will be there for them? What about him? But I'm tired of being in a marriage where I have to struggle for everything, where I can not depend on my man.
Pls, help us renew our house rent.

What do I do?

Lol..
Women can marry anything.

They marry sick men and later start complaining.

You saw a man with some mental challenges..Instead of running for your life, you married him.
That was how one of my friends married a man who had SS genotype.
They spent a greater part of their marriage in the hospital before he eventually died within 2 years of marriage, living her with nothing

Felimax:
I love my wife so much, she was just one in a billion.

The way we started and the dreams and projects ahead of us will not allow us to get deterred by our same genotype.

We are both AS and right now we are blessed with an angel and three handsome princes.

My sister rejected her AS genotype husband to be and ran after an AA genotype man who she later married bad as it is they have been married for like six years now but no child.

My marriage of seven years is blessed with four kids already.

Bottom line - go to your God and talk to Him about it.
PLEASE DON'T SHOUT, DON'T SHOUT when you are talking to your God. If you shout you will hardly hear Him talking to you..

He will tell you your next line of action. Marriage is of God not man.

Throw the NON away and keep the SENSE.

If what you are saying is true.
If you and your partner did not take any precaution to avoid having an SS child..
It only means that 2 or more of your children are not biologically yours.
A DNA paternity test will send you to an early grave.

Don't attempt it.
Live in your ignorance.
Your wife is way smarter than you are.

I never knew being AS genotype can be a hindrance when it is time for me to get married. I am 35 years. All the ladies that I love and have good emotional connections with them are all AS genotype too. So it means having a relationship that can.lead to marriage has no prospect.

Are the AA ladies getting scarce or what? I just don't understand. I am beginning to get worried of my AS genotype as it is affecting my plans of settling down.

Why are you worried about marriage (at only 35 and as a man)?
Marriage is for women.
Men don't need to marry.
Men have nothing to gain in marriage
Rest!
Romance / Re: Do You Believe in No-Sex Before Marriage? by spiceadole: 7:48pm On Jul 29, 2023
cutecommend:
I support No-Sex till marriage, but there are concerns about this ideology in this present dispensation..
What No-Sex in Marriage means especially in this generation..

(1) It means No-Sex with my partner because I want to marry him or her, but I will be having sex with other people or my EX.

(2) It may mean No-Sex with you, so that I can benefit certain nice things from you, and because if you sleep with me, you may stop doing the nice stuffs..

(3) It may mean No-Sex with you because I don't like you nor see a future with you, and will dump you when the right person comes.

(4) It may mean no-sex with you, and no sex with anyone else because I don't want sex with anyone at all; whether I love them or not.

(5) It means, no sex with you and no sex with anyone else, because I love you, and I want to make the relationship clean before I marry you.

It was number 4,for me.
I did it to ensure nobody messes me up.
Nothing like chop and clean mouth.
Had such experience in my first relationship and vowed never to have sex with any one except my husband..and so it was.
No regrets

LegallyBlunt:
Good day everyone. For a couple of weeks now, there has been issues where I worship.

Mostly between the Pastor and his assistant (presently former assistant). They had a falling out, which escalated to a point where the assistant stopped his duties.

Now, I managed to ask questions about the issue and the Pastor gave his version. I also got to know about the assistant's version.

However, here's the issue - they're not in speaking terms! Isn't that malice? Isn't that dangerous, and a deviation from what Christians ought to do? Are they not in danger of hell and manipulation from the devil and agents of sin?

What's even more painful is that the church just continues like there's no issue on ground. It's sad, really.

Stay away from church and have peace of mind.

Your so called pastor and his (former) assistant are definitely quarrelling over the pu.si of a chorister, usher or a married female member

Evestar200:
Dear Firstborn Daughters,

Have you ever felt you had more responsibilities than your siblings? Are you expected to serve as a role model? And what have been your greatest challenges or achievements as a firstborn daughter in the African household?

It has not been easy for me, I almost fall into depression one time because of too many expenses.

People will be seeing me as a big girl because of my salary but in reality that money will only be in my account within 10 days of payment and I will have to manage the little one that remains till the next payment.

One day I sit myself down, talk sense into myself and removed two of my brothers from my budget.

As for now, the only people am responsible for are my Mom and our last born.

My neighbours in School then and friends will be saying I want to be like you, I will always warn them not to wish for that because of the money I received, they can't manage what I am passing through.

I can totally relate..You have to take it easy,my sister.
As a first child, first and only daughter.. the responsibility no be here.

People used to envy me because I earned well but I was suffering.
Would send money home for virtually everything..The worst of it..my jobless brothers would complain it was not enough and my mom would take sides with them.
All of us ..graduates..trained with family funds and some scholarships but it was me who was expected to bear family responsibilities.

I was at some point, almost resorting to loan apps,in order to satisfy them.

I started having palpitations and insomnia.
Whenever my phone rang and it's a call from home,my heart would skip a beat .
I know what I will hear is " Send money for this and that".

I was with some colleagues one day,my brother called to say I should send money for tissue paper and also to refill gas...
That mom was cooking and gas finished.

I was angry and flared up..
After,I sent them a token,The last born called and requested I send money for DSTV subscription..
I told him I didn't have.
There was no insult this boy didn't reign on me..he even went as far as sending me SMS to insult, calling me barren and ugly...afterall,I wasn't married(as at then),so what was I doing with ALL my money?

I received sense...stopped bankrolling them.
Saved up my money, got married soon after and relocated overseas.

Since then,I only send money to mom, occasionally.
The rest are sorting themselves out.

the question is that why should a poor man be thinking of marriage?
Why should that be his priority rather than becoming rich?

Everybody will not be rich.

Some people will be poor now, later comfortable/rich
Others will remain poor forever.
Such is the reality of life

Hello people here's a quick question

Considering the importance of finance in marriage, what should a man be making monthly before considering marriage in Nigeria, someone said 50k but based on the economic reality in the country, 50,000 is too small to sustain a home.

I believe a minimum of 100k per month is a enough to take care of a matrimonial home with just one child and this also depends on your location.

I might be wrong or right, so over to you what's your opinion on this topic!

Depends on your social class and the woman you are marrying.

Nothing is fixed.

Many men in Nigeria earn less than 50k and are married with children
