Nope you are wrong on all counts. Midfield was not a priority and even if we wanted a midfielder it won't be in the profile of those players you mentioned. We have the defensive midfield requirements in Fred,Matic and McTom and we have the attacking options in Pogba and Bruno. If we wanted a midfielder it will be in the profile of a Scholes,Modric or a Xavi. A player that can control the Midfield tempo and keep us ticking even under pressure not another box to box player.

Chief, the leaky nature of our defence is based more on our coaching and defense system than the defenders. Against Spurs, their Wingers were usually drifting inward dragging our FBs inside providing space for their FBs to bomb forward. I was shocked on numerous occasions where we couldn't defend this simple strategy. Our wingers (Greenwood and Rashford) were supposed to track and defend against their fullbacks or defend using the zonal system, where the DM would track the winger coming inside towards the 18 yards box.

Agaisnt Brighton they explored us with one of the benefits of playing the 3-5-2 or 3-4-3 systems. I repeat we actually have more of a coaching problem than a personnel problem.

After chasing AWB for the whole summer they got him for 50 million. Then they also got Maguire and Dan James. Full stop.

Abeg shift, our defence was 3rd best in the league or thereabout and they played together for majority of the games whilst out for their time on the pitch, our attack was right up there. I am certain if you compared our attack with that of Liverpool and City vis á vis minutes played, we best Liverpool but I am not so sure about City.
