To God be the Glory! Interview appointment was 10am today and it was successful; After going through all security checks and making necessary payments, we were called at window 20 to submit only 1 passport photograph, 1 photocopy and original of only birth certificates for 5 of us and marriage certificate. The guy at window 20 never even demanded for our academic credentials, and we wondered why?
We waited until our ticket number beeped!
CO: Good afternoon
US: Good afternoon
CO: How are you?
US: We are fine thank you, and you? He replied: very good
CO: Please do your thumb prints on the machine - we both did that
CO: Please raise your right hands and promise to .....
CO: To my wife, you are the principal applicant..... my wife answered yes
US: We remained standing with the kids for the interview. I was not asked to go and sit down with the kids

INTERVIEW PROPER
CO: What's is your highest educational qualification
My wife: Answered
CO: Do you have any document for this
My wife: She presents Original and 1 photocopy
CO: Do you have WAEC?
My wife: Yes, and presents her Original WAEC and 1 photocopy
CO: Everything is good, pulls out white paper and hands over to us!

Note: We had 2 birth certificates; the NPC, and the normal birth certificate for myself and my wife. The man at windows 20 looked at both, but choose the NPC. He remarked : your NPC certificate is a certified one (authenticated), and I said yes.
We prepared so hard; asked ourselves questions and even carried 2 big albums for courtship, introduction and wedding, but CO never asked us to present any album and only asked us 2 questions during the interview proper as highlighted above. We can clearly see God's favor and hands in our interview.
GENERAL ADVICE TO ALL: Please, let's not forget our God when we get to the U.S. When things are rosy, let's learn to hold on to God at such times more than when we encounter problems.

In my town and country they collect stool, urine and blood samples. XRay is done then checked if you have a scar due to long time TB or past TB they will take spurtum for culture which takes 8 weeks for the results to come out. NOTE: If anyone in the house ever suffered from TB before i will advice them to take their medicals 2 months to their interview,,,,

mascotinme: Hello house, mrn. Please i went to collect our visa on thur, on getting home, i notice dat dere is a mistake on my wife document, dey echange her parents name with my parent name , pls what should i do. And please how much is ticket to New York.

Send them back to the Embassy with a note stating the mistake. NOTE send all the documents back because they will have to change the dates of issue on all the documents. my hubby's date of birth was wrong we only sent his passport they also said that he should send his yellow envelope again they realised he had beneficiaries they told us to send all our documents back. We sent them back and they changed dates on Visa issues and visa number plus they changed the dates on the yellow envelopes. You dont pay any money when sending thru DHL all you need is a DHL reference number

Oh my!! This your arrogance wont pay at all. Infact it will teach you to know how to be patient. If you think that NO one is giving you the correct information why cant you take the bull by its horns Wait for 90 days then write to them and tell them that the names were wrongly keyyed in plus the case number then they will check it out. They know every steps they take so be STILL

mohamed shire: hi every body in the house, it is now 36 days from the time i have been putted on further administrative process by US embassy in Nairobi, and the yellow form that they have given me says wait 90 days, and i have heard that the waiting time for further administrative processing is 60 days, what do you think is wrong or they wrote 90 days in my form is mistake.
and the other thing i want to ask is CO wrote my name wrongly in that form and wrote my case number as 2012 instead of 2013, so will that have any effect in my case, i just saw that when i went to my home.

We have a person in our forum he is from Ethiopia he did his interview early October last year he has been patiently waiting until last week is when he got his Visa This gentleman had to wait for 5 months. I really dont understand why you are NOT patient. What will happen when you get to the US man you have to learn to be patient everything good comes with patience unless in Somalia you are always in hurry but now with this they have the last shout so BE STILL and learn from others.

In my country those things will be sent to you in a yellow envelope that you shouldnt open until the immigration officer at the POE opens them so i dont know about Naija nor Ghana how its done. It comes together with your visa

temmytanny: @all,its not been easy for me in the past few days going to work and coming to nairaland to make comments.I runs two jobs and have busy lately(US is all about money and hours ).I want to wish those yet to go for interview success.PLease,always be smart,courageous and wear smiles on your face whenever you go and face the COs.Make sure your documents are intact aleast two weeks before your interview.If you arent traveling immediately after visa issuance,its advisable you do your medical few days(may be 2weeks)to your interview so that your medicals dont expire before leaving naija.Police report is 3months but no longer needed once you get ur visa.Go to embassy with ever document that would help you and not implicate you.All required documents must be in one envelop with two photocopies each(though,they need just one photocopy).The visas are yours,they are just helping you to keep them.
AMERICA IS SWEET ooooooo the more you work,the more money you make,please do fast and come and join us

Gentiger and other forum friends, i have this friend of mine who got selected and he is yet to get current in june i hope so. His issue is that he insist in marrying his girlfriend they've dated for 5yrs now, currently she might be 2 months old pregnant for him. When he entered the eDv he entered single, sent forms to KCC as single and now he is determined to marry the lady and fill the forms again to include her. I have warned him but he is really thorn and doesnt know what to do. Kindly give me the best answers for me to copy them and paste to him to read from you people, thanks.

I got married traditionally in 2010 with pictures and also in court that same year but we did not take pictures because it was not celebrated. Are court marriage pictures very vital?
Most importantly good people, here is my major problem; after I was notified that I was selected for further processing of the DV Lottery 2013, my husband and I filled the required forms accordingly that we got married in 2010 but truly I do not remember if I registered on the original online form as married or single. Please house, I really need your advice and ask if there is a possibility that I can know if I registered as single or married on the original online form. Bronxess you say you got married in 2010 both tradition and court that same year and you dont remember entering if you were married huh!!! This is very funny, we entered the eDv entry in 2011 so you were already married why would you think that you entered single if by then you were married? Unless this is what you did and now want options thrown to you. You see when you enter married that means it will still ask you about your spouses information where he was born and his date of birth surely if all this you cant remember if you entered them then you are fixed. Anyway if you have your 2010 court marriage certificate dont worry you can say someone filled it for you but hey did you write in the ds230 that you filled it yourself?

My Fiancee and I got to the Embassy @ 6:50am, my interview letter was collected did the screening and all. I got the no B421 and made the $330 equivalent 54,500.
Later on my name and number was called up for doc verification.
My number B421 beeped at Window 13, where a young looking handsome man was, he should be in his early 30s. He denied two couples before I was called.
Me: Good morning Mr. USA
CO: Morning... Morning (smiling)
CO: Are you Mr. Nwosu
Me: Yes I am
He showed me the form I sent to KCC and asked if it was mine, said yes and asked me to sign on the pink sticker, which I did and thumb print.
CO: Do you promise to say the truth and nothing but the truth(Oath taking).
Me: I promise to say the truth.
CO: What is your highest qualification
Me: SSCE
CO: What was your best subject in school
Me: Commerce (I had C6)
CO: But you have good grade in Accounting. (B2), so can you tell me about your exam in Accounting.
Me: My exam was in two parts (objective and theory). In the objective part there are options where candidates are meant to choose from the options and then shade in and the theory part is an essay written part based on questions asked.
CO: Good... Good (shaking his head).
CO: Tell me abt some topics in Accounting.
Me: Double Column Entry and Asset. I did explanations.
CO: Can you tell me abt Agric Sc exam
Me: (I scored C4) Exam was in two part. Part 1 (objective and theory) and part 2 (Practical).
Me: (He immediately got interested on the practical aspect cos I had already mentioned objectives and theory when I earlier talked by Accounting). I brought out my wallet, hankerchief and a pen on the table as my specimen. Bla... Bla... (The guy just dey shake him head).

We arrived the embassy at about 6am but had to hire chairs to wait for our interview slated for 10am. At the hour, we proceeded to the gate were security checks were effected. Once inside the hall, we paid the necessary fees and our documents checked and received. We sat down to wait for our number to be called. Behold at about 12.30pm our number beeped at Window 13 (handsome guy) who had earlier on denied 2 couples. We braced up and moved with confidence to Window 13 because greater is he who is in us that the one in the world.----- Am the principal applicant.
