preprewow: hello house, there is a friend of mine who was applied the same program(2013 dv lottery) & her interview is on this month 21 st. she is the principal applicant & her husband is beneficiary but her husband has a child with his 1st girlfriend & he applied DS 260 that his son will join him later. now, his son is with that girlfriend & they lives in tanzania. she is neither want him to be with his father & step mother at the embassy on their interview day nor do she want him to join them later & the embassy want those listed on 2nd NL to appear on interview. house, can she & her husband appear on their interview without this kid? please help her.. she needs your advices badly because she cant afford to waste money for nothing.

He can explain that the child is his from his previous relationship and the real mom didnt want his son to appear at the consulate. You see honesty is better than lies. Again they will understand it because a child has two parents thats why a single mom is asked for a letter of consent from the dad. They should not worry at all.

junkerhill: I don't know the reason why she don't want to the child to go with them to interview or why she don't want him to join them later. What ever her reason is, if the child is listed as a beneficiary, he should go with them on the day of their interview.
My dear preprewow, pls try and see if u can persuade her to accommodate that boy. She can't say she don't have money for the boy's flight to US because she has stated she don't want the boy to join them later. she should forgive the boy even if he has offended her. If the boy's mother offended her she should learn to forgive. I wonder what her reasons myt be for not wanting the boy to migrate wit them to US. That boy myt be the reason why she was selected at the first place. She doesn't know tomorrow. That boy myt be the one to help her tomorrow. Maybe she doesn't want the boy to help his mother. I can't just fathom what her reasons myt be, but what so ever her reasons myt be she should try and take the boy wit her. Just try and persuade her please.

From my understanding it is the real mother that doesnt want to release her child to go to the embassy with her dad and stepmom not the stepmom

Did you read the that piece of paper well? what do understand by C- or its equivalent? Please ma'am dont rely on the negative side but focus on getting the visa. YES and YES you are good to go please dont panic. In that piece of paper it says in Diplom courses that KCSE mean grade C- or equivalent plus a Certificate. You say you have a Certificate and you are pursuing a Diploma so please make sure you get something that shows you are still in College ie your CATs and anything. About your earing my friend they hussled my hubby because his pressure was high, had to be started medication immediately we didnt know until that day that he is likely to be hypertensive, we had to go home and come back after the pressure has normalized. So when they ask about your hearing dont mention a damn thing.

preprewow: By the way house, today I've came to know that Nairobi US embassy doesn't issue visas to applicants with less than C plain in K.C.S.E. I got less than due to my sickness(chronic ear infections)when i was doing my K.C.S.E exams but before that i used to get good grades(A-/B+).

Now, I'm partially deaf but thanks God I didnt lose that hope to continue with my studies. I'm in Univesity doing diploma in business so do you think that i can convince the Consular Officer with my present & earlier performances? Do you think that my hearing impairment would be a problem to get a Diversity Visa? & finally, do you think that me & my husband can go for the interview if i didn't meet with their high school minimum requirements?

PLEASE dont talk about your ear being DEAF at IOM when you are doing your medicals i beg. Do you have any transcript may first year or any CATs please collect them and go with them but before you pay you will ask the Kenyan lady who collects the papers if your chances are good to go.

I had my interview today right here in Ghana, I woke up @ 4:18 am before i would have been waken by the alarm @ 4:30 ( not that i couldnt sleep anyway, hahahahahahahaha), took my bath, waited for my snr brother to also finish, then he drove me off @ 5:37 am and got to Cantoment i.e America embassy @ 6:21 am, i met many people over there going for the same interview.
@ 7:30am, we heard a bell and we all ran towards the entrance to form a queue, i was around number 40 in the queue, i got inside, my name was mentioned to collect a forms to fill, after that, i paid the fees of $330 equivalent to Ghc 660, i was told to sit down. About 20 to 30mins time, i heard my name from a sweet lady's voice blablablabla please come to window 4. i stood up, called God to take the lead for me to follow Him and He did exactly that.

Last week Thursday at exactly 11:40.29 AM i received a call from The Embassy the lady that called me said that the Administrative Procesing for my name being so common was completed and that my name was cleared. I was told to bring my passport in and to pick up my visa. Thank you Jesus!!! the nightmare is over. My case was sent to administrative procesing Jan 15th and I got a confirmation that they can issue my visa yesterday Monday 25th it took 5 working days.
Today I realized no matter how old we get, we will always be full of joy and happiness as soon as we have the support of our friends and family,ALL THANKS TO THE MASTER PLAN.BABA GOD!.

Am live @ Atlanta sending this post,i really want to say a very BIG thank u to u all in this forum i got to US on Saturday.my experience ,left MMA1 on saturday 6.50am got to Casablanca morocco on same day by 10.50am ,took another plane to JFK by 12.30pm on Saturday took us 8 hours and touch down @ JFK by 4.50PM America tym,slept over @New York b4 taking another plane DELTA AIRLINE to Atlanta by 8.10am from New York the fligt lasted for 1hour 58 minutes.the weather in New York was verrrrrrry cold but the weather in Atlanta is cold too but not like New York ,as many that re coming to new york shld pls prepare very well and bring good and thick jacket my document was collected @JFK insted of Atlanta the immigration insisted collecting my document said it same process.

...this your authority without power dey make me fear at times.well, it doesn't matter your poe once the Home security officer take you finger print and your passport is been stamp by the immigration you can migrate to any where but just make sure you have access to your Green card when it comes.
