That your cheerleader stuff is uncalled for. But on a second thought I think you are right! Whether anybody likes it or now, LC is the cheerleader as far as BBA 2 thread on Nairaland is concerned. And he didn't earn this on a platter of gold. He worked for it! While everybody is entitled to his/her opinion, superios argument should be respected. Morality, Objectivity, Reasoning and Law are four different entities. My prayer is that God will give you the patience to wait for your turn Somebody say a big amen to that

While this may come as a shock, I am not entirely surprised.

You need to get close to these "celebrities" to see their skeletons. Some of them believe they are pure God's gifts to women. They are nothing other than female chauvinists! Bigots! Sexists! The list is endless: Nanya of Rythm FM, Charles Anazodo, Yemi Solade. I mean some of them are irresponsible.

Linda is a role model and she will never put this on her blog, except she is sure of what she is saying. And Katherine will never say this about her hubby either except she has been pushed to the wall.

There is no doubt that Ofunneka is incapacitated by the contractual agreement. However, somebody needs to come to her rescue. This is one episode that is going to affect her in the nearest future. No thanks to the fact the clip is now at "Oyingbo market"

The earlier something is done to right the wrongs the better.
Nairaland GeneralHow Did You Choose Your Nairaland's Username by spora(op): 6:11pm On Nov 21, 2007
Names are chosen for differeent reasons. Some usernames are chosen from their firstname eg Seun, Layi. Some because of their profession eg Lawyerchap. Some usernames because of their aliases eg fineface.

What determined your Nairaland's username and password  grin grin

Spora is the short form of sporangium. That name was adopted during one of the "borrowed" courses back in school. Since then I have been using it in different areas: emails, password etc. When I registered on Nairaland, it was readily available, and that was how I chose it.

Ofunneka Apologises, Claims she was never Raped

Ofunneka has apologised over her misconduct in the competition. Speaking at a press briefing Ofunneka said she is proud to be a Nigerian and was sorry for any misconduct, especially her alleged rape by the winner, Richard Benzuidenhout of Tanzania.

According to her, there was so much stress in the Big Brother House and on the said day, she was under the influence of alcohol. She added that when she was shown the footage, she felt disappointed that she had let herself down as over 58 countries were watching the show as well as her family.

When asked if the reports in some newspapers that she had sued Richard over the issue was true, the University of Ibadan Chemistry graduate said she was never raped or sexually assaulted, so there is no ground to file any suit

(1) Is there any chance in the nearest future of hooking Tampico. I dig the babe men! But seems Makin don cook vegetable for am.
(2) Any chance of me winning BBA 3. I have started practising. But how can I stay for 3 months in the house without all my ***** you know. This is really giving me concern.

Ndi:
To Ban BBA Airing, Is it really necessary? It did not air on Local Stations that NBC controls, it only aired on DSTV and I do not think NBC has any right to regulate programs aired on DSTV, that would be going contrary to contract agreement, unless they want to totally chase them out of Nigeria which would be going to extreme as we have far more obscene films airing on DSTV and others alike than the BBA show.
Sweetheart, I beg to disagree.

National Broadcasting Commission is established by Decree No 38 of 1992. This decree has been amended by National Broadcasting Commission (Amendment) Decree No 55 of 1999.

Its functions include but not limited to the following:
1. regulating and controlling the broadcast industry;
2. receiving, considering and investigating complaints from individuals and bodies corporate or incorporate regarding the contents of a broadcast and the conduct of a broadcasting station;
3. establishing and disseminating a national broadcasting code and setting standards with regard to the contents and quality of materials for broadcast;
4. promoting Nigerian indigenous cultures, moral and community life through broadcasting;
5. initiating and harmonizing Government policies on trans-border direct transmission and reception in Nigeria;
6. regulating ethical standards and technical excellence in public, private and commercial broadcast stations in Nigeria;
7. determining and applying sanctions including revocation of licences of defaulting stations which do not operate in accordance with the broadcast code and in the public interest;
8. approving the transmitter power, the location of stations, areas of coverage as well as regulate types of broadcast equipment to be used.

I have brought out only those functions that are related to the issue at hand.

In conclusion, NBC indeed have power to monitor what is aired even on PPV stations in Nigeria, DStv inclusive .

@ All Thinking Ofu is Guilty. Before You blame Ofu too much, try to take 5 shots of Vodka,drink yourself into a stupor
Why should I take 5 shots of vodka if I know my capacity can't take it?

That Ofunneka allows awuf to turn her into a  vegetable, is her problem . That Richard abuse her in that state is his problem. That BB did not intervene before it degenerated to that extent is BB's problem.

Ofunne shouldn't have guzzled more than her capacity. That does not however, give Richard the liberty to molest her. BB as the compere perhaps was enjoying it, else he supposed to have called then to order.

My Conclusion:
Ofunne has a case. QED
__________________________________________________________________________________________________

Meamwhile, Ofunneka is expected back home on Friday 16th November. Already, Multichoice Nigeria, subscription managers of the DSTV bouquet in the country, have lined up series of events to herald her home coming.

On arrival she would be guest to a handful of television and radio live programmes designed to enable her interact with teeming fans.
TV/MoviesRe: Big Brother Africa 2 (II)! by spora(m): 1:46pm On Nov 15, 2007
@ Salvage
I respect your opinion. But how about looking at it from this perspective.

If BB truly believed that nothing untoward happened on Saturday then why were the HM offered to see a psychiatrist? The HM only apologized for over indulgence and nothing more. Since when does someone need to see a psychiatrist after excessive drinking.

BB is rated 16NL and in their statement they mention this and that parental control can and should be used. What transpired on Saturday Afternoon was most definitely not 16NL but rather 18SNL and one can almost add violence to that depending on your viewpoint. The producers could see what was happening however they continued to show the live footage. This is an indication that they were more interested in their ratings and gaining further viewers as well as votes in the final weeks of the show. The producers only chose to remove the cameras from the bedroom and focus on an empty garden once all events had transpired and the paramedics were brought in.
Richard has full recollection of what happened on Saturday because on Tuesday he threatened to finger Tatiana and Ofunneka during an argument. Someone would not make a statement like this out of the blue in an argument without making reference to a previous event.

More proof that Richard remembers is that he has full recollection of events as they transpired before and shortly after the event. He even recalls the paramedics entering the room and asking the one paramedic to kiss him on the cheek. Richard was also drunk as he also passed out in the diary room however due to the fact that he does remember in detail what transpired one has to conclude that he was in control of his actions.

If Ofunneka does remember what happened, then she is not bringing it out in the open yet. One must remember that they are isolated in the house and have no idea what the viewers see or think. It would be a big risk at this late stage of the game, and in the final race to win $100 000, to say anything as this could jeopardise her chances of winning especially knowing that Richard has survived so many evictions. This would also destroy Tatiana with whom she is friends. Bringing it out in the open would be going against both Richard and Tatiana.

The question now has to be asked that if she does indeed remember does that make her consenting. The answer is simple. Would she have done or allowed this selfish act to be done had she not been intoxicated especially with Tatiana lying on the bed next to Richard and herself. NO. Therefore she was not consenting.

Alcohol is sometimes used as an excuse for unacceptable behavior. When a man sexually assaults an acquaintance, he is seen as less responsible for his actions if he was drunk. Our societal double standard, however, results in the woman being seen as “to blame” for the assault if she was intoxicated. In addition, victims who were drinking when they were sexually assaulted tend to have more feelings of self-blame. It is important to remember that no one deserves to be sexually assaulted. Choosing to drink alcohol should not be equated with choosing to be sexually assaulted.

According to law, a person who is unconscious (passed out), or incapacitated, whether from alcohol, drugs, or illness, cannot give consent to sex. Therefore, if sexual contact occurs, it is sexual assault. When there is any uncertainty about your partner’s ability to give consent, it is wise to wait for another time. To engage in sexual activity with someone who is under the influence of alcohol or drugs simply is against the law.

Debbie Harrison, director of KZN R ape Crisis, was aghast when she heard of the programme’s content. She is quoted as saying “If Bezuidenhout penetrated Malokwu with his fingers, as is alleged, then according to the new clauses contained in the Criminal Law Amendment Bill, it is an act of r ape, rather than sexual assault. The Bill says that if the woman is unable to consent to a sexual act, it constitutes ra pe”
This film is indeed getting interesting and this is just the prologue oh. Imagine what will happen when the real film gets started. smiley

I support the decision of Nigeria's House of Reps on the stoppage of further BBA and its decision to investigate the molestation of Ofunneka by Richard in the house. It is a welcome development.

Like I said earlier, I still maintain that the show is unAfrican and the earlier it is stopped the better. And I think, this is more less going to be the beginning of the end of DStv in Niger area. There is no doubt that the invitation of NBC top shot will necesitate amendment to the rules and regulation of Pay-per-view TV stations in Nigeria.

DStv has no doubt shot itself in the leg.

House of Representatives yesterday ordered the Nigerian Broadcasting Commission (NBC), to discontinue the airing of any clip or debate on Big Brother Africa (BBA).

House Committee on Information and National Orientation handed down the order after a meeting with the Director General of NBC, Mr Yomi Bolarinwa. Bolarinwa told the committee that the commission drew the attention of the management of MultiChoice to the nudity being shown on air.

Multichoice is the cable company that beamed the show live to subscribers in Nigeria and other parts of the globe.

He said the commission invited MultiChoice on two occasions when it observed that the company was contravening the laws guiding broadcasting in the country. Chairman of the committee, Honourable Dino David Melaye, said that even though, the show has ended, the House was against showing the clips of the nudity displayed, which he noted was not in consonant with African cultures and values.

“We will not tolerate a foreign company to abuse and insult the sensibility of our people. What was showed on the BBA was an insult on the image of Africa . This is why we ordered NBC, who regulate what goes on air to stop hence with any serialization, analysis or clips of the BBA.

“We condemned in totality, what happened on October 27th when a Nigerian was abused in the glare of the public. It is against the code of NBC and we have told the commission to discontinue any broadcast that has to do with BBA, “Dino said.
In view of the recklessness of the broadcasting outfit, he said that the National Assembly would determine the future of Multichoice in Nigeria , adding that it was incumbent on every nation to protect the choice and values of the people.
The live cast of inmates having sex had been condemned by viewers, while the emergence of a married man as the winner of the show equally attracted negative comments.

@Kaydee
To say I am amazed by that statement is an understatement. And I still maintain that it is a fallacy! The fact that we all come here to post does not mean we don't know our antecedent. Anyway I don't want to go into that. It is a matter for another day.

Nigerians would not stop to amaze me. Why do you guys think that whenever anything happens to Nigeria/Nigerians, it is because we are hated. What arrant nonsense! It is high time we began to be objective in our analogy. If Nigeria loose in a football match, they say, the referee is against us.

Why must it be everytime, everybody is against you? Why? Why must it be only Nigerian that is hated? Why? Men, I don't buy that idea.

In a game anything can happen and BBA is a game. Shit happens. Perhaps you would have said RSA rigged it, had Lerato won. spare me rubbish dawg! You should understand that Ofunne lost gallantly and sometime there are some underline reasons we are not privy to.

So, I will conclude by saying that Ofunne lost, not because she is a Nigerian. She lost because of the 11 reasons I earlier stated (I stand to be corrected, though) Perhaps you should scroll back and read it.

CareerRe: Is It Normal To Dream About Your Boss? by spora(m): 3:40pm On Nov 14, 2007
That is a very BBAADD dream, my dear! When I contacted the oracle, there is a need for urgent sanctification. The enemy is at work! Oti o, do not go to any Imam or Pastor, they will compound your problem

You will have to come for cleansing so that the gods of lesbianism will not attack you. Your spiritual husband is also annoyed. We need to appease him. It is also revealed that your mother's rival is conniving with some household enemy to bring about your downfall. But they will fail!

Due to the gravity of your matter, the cleasing will take 30 days and night. Dont worry, you dont have to take any leave, we will do it in such a way that your body will be in the office throughout the duration, but your spirit and soul will be with us. Or alternatively, you can resign your appointment outrightly as MTN and Globacom will automatically absorb you after the whole cleansing.

You will have to travel to your village and unearth the place where your umbilical cord is buried. Bring some earth from that place as that is what will be used to prepare a concortion at the end of the day.

I almost forgot to tell you to sell everthing sellable out of your properties as you wont need them again. Bring the money you realised from selling them as all those things are acquired through blood money. The money will be sent back to where it came from.

From now on, stop sleeping on your bed or in your room. They are attacked already. And as much as possible make sure you sleep naked so that you will be invisible to the evil spirit at night. You can as well beg your landlord, so that he allows you to sleep in his bedroom.

No dont borrow money as your spirit is against that. But your can obtain some N200,000 loan from the bank to buy everything that will be needed for the sanctification. When you have everything ready, just go to the third mainland bridge and sleep face down at the middle of the road around 1am. We will fumigate the road so that no car will pass during the period. I will then appear to you and we will take off from there.

Dont panic. Oracle is in control. Peace!

Warning: Please nobody should know of this plan, not even you closest friend as your star is against that.
