To you to think lampard is known for only goals deh muse me. Try watch lampard game live(not livescores pls ) and you'll know he'll still be a highly rated Midfielder even without that amount of goals.

And please, it's not only goals that made Xhaka a highly rated Midfielder to us arsenal fans. Two seasons ago when he scored only 4 goals, (when arteta advanced him as an LAM), he was loved as we could see he was influencing games as never before. Even last season, before he scored that 2 dead rubber goals in the last match, he was also one of Arsenal favourite with 5 goals(prior to the last match). So no, goals was not the main criteria on why arsenal loved Xhaka before he left.

The first thing people rate Midfielder are your ability to control, be creative and dictate tempo. Saying they're at par in goals is you not saying anything if he still ghosts in midfield when he's suppose to be creative, control Midfield and bring stability.

Van Persie- banged 30 goals twice while with us, win a golden boot with us, was mostly out injured and still dropped good numbers.

Giroud- highest goal tally with us in the league was 16, was mostly fit, went on some goal drought despite we chasing the league.

One was good with us and the other was average.

I’ve been following the back and forth on this matter, I’ve not seen where anyone described Giroud as useless, the context was AVERAGE and not useless, every Arsenal fan can agree he was average while he was with us.
