kodded: a sound business man will not invest on a player that showed great form only towards the end of the season because that form could be a purple patch.
What if nkeitah returns back to the 2 goals a season striker we know him in the past to be, what will happened to his value
Have you forgotten that joe willock scored many goals two seasons ago?
Where is that form today?
If na so you dey do business, that means so many people go scam you well well o with black market performance just to sign a new contract and after signing the contract they will return back to default settings. You probably don't know that every investment comes with an element of risk. Even your so called top strikers can fade in an instant. Lukaku for example was bought for 80m last season but is going on loan this season. Now compare that risk with paying Nketiah 100k. We sold Willock for 30m. We made good money off him because he had a contract with us . You lack business acumen. I am sorry to say so. Those professionals who run the club and who know better than you have already done what they should. So stop whining and whinging. |

kodded: The sooner you realize that arsenal is too big for arteta, the better for you because arteta does not know what he is dong, don't fall for all those media tricks, he does not have a clue about what he is doing.
He is not tactical savy like the media want to paint him to be, he is cluesless and the only magic up his sleeves is his trail by error tactis.
He has nothing upstairs, the sooner you realise the better.
By the way nkeitah is just as cluesless as his boss, there is nothing special about nkeitah infact a serious team that is fighting for the league will not sign nkeitah to be their 3rd striker talk more of paying him £100k a week to stay.
His stat is there to see, he is nothing but an average goal poacher that strives on scramble goals (defensive error goals), that is not a sustainable way to score goals for a premier league striker. If Lacazette was scoring those 'defensive error' goals, we would be handing him new contract and not letting him go for free. Before they say I like 'vawulence' let me add that all goals are directly or indirectly due to defensive errors. |

ObaIgwe1: That Arsenal is too big for Arteta is no longer news, I even alluded to that in the post you quoted. But the sooner you realize that Arteta is here and there is nothing you and I can do in the main time to remove him, the better. We cannot wish him failure cos doing that means wishing the club to fail.
And whichever way you take it, Arteta took us from the bottom of the league from Gameweek-4 to 5th position is something, we almost got 4th position sef. And considering he has the youngest squad with most of them just start playing together. So if we base our assessment on the results alone, we can say he is the 5th best manager in the league for now, while I agree Arsenal is bigger than Arteta, he is not someone I will call clueless.
I do not wish to debate Nketiah with you, but very very few people will call someone that scored 5 goals in 8 matches he started "clueless". If only Laca has been giving us that conversion rate of late, we would have probably extended his contract. If we dont sign him for 100k/wk other clubs will. I must commend your maturity and civility in answering those questions because they are quite annoying. |

I am really worried about Saka and his contract situation is beginning to drag, worsestill, Saka has said he is in no haste to sign an extension and that speaks a lot. Sincerely, I won't blame him. He only needs to look at Harry Kane to know. Kane himself seems to even be in a more favourable position. My hope is that rather than not signing let him demand huge investment as a condition. |

Simply because
1. I'm Yoruba and A Muslim
2. I would be widely favoured over anyone from the south East or south south as they are both likely going to be Christian faithfuls probably
3. Because the North has this thing in them that pushes them into being religiously sentimental
4. It would have been BUHARI-8 years as APC activated PRESIDENT and ATIKU ABUBAKAR too-8 years as PDP activation as well
5. Then, The whole NATION OF NIGERIA Would then be rooting for someone from the SOUTHERN NIGERIA to succeed ATIKU ABUBAKAR as president come the year 2031 after his 8 years or 2 Tenure of office
6. Believe it or not. NO one can Win without the North!
Meanwhile, GABRIEL JESUS IS A GUNNER FROM TODAY HENCEFORTH
Chelsea and Madrid are trying to hijack the deal. If we don't sign him today/tomorrow then it's over. As par your dream, it is good and hopefully so. But, right now what Nigeria needs is not a northern president but southern especially from SE. This nation is too diverse to be playing politics with. A northern president will cause more separatist agenda from southerners and the centre will not be able to hold. There will be mutiny in the army, and the nation will dive into the ocean of chaos. The 3 groups are
1- Nigerian children who live abroad and stay with their parents.
2-Medical doctors.
3-IT GURUS. and not just any run of the mill IT guy but i mean like an IT guy who can code in almost 10 languages both frontend and backend and can handle database administration etc
These are the only 3 groups of people enjoying the abroad . everybody else is struggling harder than the common man in Nigeria. The high cost of living there will kill you. The cost of living may be high, but isn't it worth it compared to Nigeria? |

pquaver: Bro... That is only partially the problem. Our people must learn to love and eschew hate.. Learn to live peacefully with their neighbours.. The North has shown the are honourable.. Buhari told igbos vote me and enter the race for the next presidency, an oive branch that would have been a peaceful handshake for all the insults attack and death wishes on him, they said no atiku must cum.. Today history has shown who the honourable man is between their choice of atiku and those of us who were insulted for taking Buhari in. Today he stands behind Southern presidency, just imagine if Igbos took his olive branch he would have made a case for them unlike their cummin atikulator who took their turn without regards to them, the party the served for years no regard and you know what pdp will never regard Igbos because no matter what it does, it knows the people will vote it, so why treat such people with respect. The North has earned it respect because when. Pdp messed up they went cpc, apcand anpp, southwest is recognized because everyone knows they went AD, ACN and AC when push comes to shove.. But here we are.. Same people are shouting atiku must cum, atikulator.. I am ashamed of such Igbos. For 1 I must thank Peter Obi and wike for their attitude.. But there is no difference between those who went north like okowa, Obaseki, ihedioha, etc and their foot soldiers who are about to atikulate.. You all are sellout and have no interest of Nigeria at heart.. But let it be remindrr here that never again do we want to hear talk of marginalization, fulanis action, hausa fulani etc stories from ndigbo and their Ohaneze.. You have buried it yourselves.. What ever the southwest achieves in apc should not concern Igbos afterall it was a party with rejected. How their presidential candidate is more of a concern to us than them baffles me really.. Advice to southeast, mend your ways and build bridges.. You sound like you trust these politicians and their promises. |

If Osinbajo wins the APC ticket, he will win the election as he will score votes in SW and share in NW, NC and SS.
If Tinubu wins the ticket, Atiku will win the election as he will claim the entire north.
The dark horse is Peter Obi. If Igbos massively turn out he will win because Igbos are usually the second highest in population in other regions compared to other tribes. He may not win any region outrightly like he will in SE, but will come second in almost every state. |

They don't have the quality we need in backups When we say backup some people mistaken the term to mean low quality members of the team. But this shouldn't be the case. A backup should be someone who can efficiently cover up a team member without the absence being felt. Someone like Saliba can be a reliable backup for White, while Nketiah can be a good backup for the top striker we hope to sign. |

Verdict: You don't/haven't watched Bissouma and Brighton I have watched severally and those are my perspectives. However, that's not the issue. The issue here is having a CM not a DM in that single pivot. It's not my tactics but what Arteta uses. |

mostob: Bro...How is Cedric different from Tavarez sef... In fact, if Arteta can get both Hickey and Zinchenko, he should go ahead. When you're building a team, some things you need to consider is stability, availability and reliability. Our key first teamers in Tierney and Partey don't thick all these boxes. Partey and Tierney went injured and our team collapsed, we need to avoid something of such next season I totally agree with you. Due to injuries, those two will not always be around. So why don't we get quality backups for them instead of managing players like Tavares or Lokonga. |

ObaIgwe1: lol I really dont't think Tielemans is Partey's replacement. The Midfield players we are getting are just to strengthen our team and provide more options, not to replace Partey. I don't even know why we are talking about Partey's replacement when the guy is not leaving us any time soon. Maybe the phrase should be "Partey's backup" in the event of Partey's getting injured again, in that case we would just have to pray for less injury and make use of the options we have.
Let's be honest with ourselves here, there are few players worldwide that can play Partey's position better than him, and if we must go for them, we should be budgeting serious money here. Like Roland17 often says, Partey is one player that can easily walk into any 1st 11 of any team and get a permanent place. We are blessed to have him and I doubt anyone is looking for his replacement at this time. We all saw how weaker we became and how clean sheet suddenly disappeared when he got injured last time. I will vote for him as the Captain of that team. The thing is that we are looking for possibilities in case Partey suffers those unfortunate injuries. But basically, it should be about someone who will partner him as I don't want Xhaka claiming a first team shirt next season. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Spy360(m): 3:53pm On Jun 03, 2022 |
Jodera: I didn't take it like that. My point is that defenders of any caliber isn't a priority signing again.
Also, what we posted was different
Yours was 1 DF, 1Mf and 2 attackers Mine was 2 Midfielders (DM and CM), 2 attackers.
You're downplaying Partey's role again and the worst part is that you're thinking Tielemans can play there just because he's a Midfielder.
We need quality in that Midfield and attack and this obsession about Tavarez not been good enough will be forgotten. Worst of it all is that Tavarez Is not even a first teamer. We've gotten an Lcb in Trusty (24yrs) and Rcb in Saliba (22yrs)/Holding as CB backups. We've got Cedric and Tavarez as fullback backups. Let's forget anything about defence abeg or else we'll keep on resetting it even till our 10th generation.
Midfield and attack is weak and needs to be settled, why are we worrying ourselves over 2nd choice fullback? I will take it that you didn't notice the defender I mentioned was Zinchenko who is actually a midfielder. Besides, there is a reason the club is going for a new LB (Zinchenko or Hickey), and that's because the manager feels he can not stand having Tavares backing up Tierney next season knowing how T easily gets injured. So your opinion here doesn't count. As for Tielemans, he isn't even my first choice. I prefer Neves. But he seems the most likely Arteta will sign and so I just have to accept the decision. However, I prefer him to your Bissouma because he fits in better in that Partey role. By the way, what role do you think Partey plays? Because he is bulky and strong you feel he is more defensive because that's where most of you are looking at. Partey is in that team more for his attacking abilities than defending. |

Who told you bissouma is a low block DM? In fact, do Brighton play low block? Abi you think say every midtable teams na low block teams? You even talking down on bissouma quality, lemme just assume you hardly watched him or Brighton Lol It's also funny you didn't notice I was being sarcastic too hence the Anyways, I don't think Bissouma will be great for us because he won't fit into the style. The style is for the CM to be a ball carrier, passer, distributor and attack initiator just as Partey and Elneny. Bissouma is more like a defense minded midfielder whose game is mainly to break attacks. |

ObaIgwe1: lol. The club has not signed anyone yet now and I doubt Tierney's back up is their main priority. You know how this negotiation goes na... Getting agreement with the selling-club and personal terms with quality players takes time. Those easy players comes much quicker.
I think our priority has always been, CF 1st, that is why the 1st rumor was about signing Jesus and getting Nketiah to sign a new contract.
2nd priority is in the midfield (CM/DM), There have been continuous talk about getting Zinchenko and Tielemans both are to strengthen our midfield and we have also extended Elneny's contract.
I dont really think we will need to get Hicky or any other defender again if we get an utility player like Zinchenko (who can help both at the back and in the midfield), and with Saliba coming back.
We would only need to get another winger if Pepe leaves.
So basically, if we get Jesus/Nunez, Zinchenko and Tielemans, then we have little or no more business to do in the transfer market. I want us to keep the core of the present team and minimize all the multiple experiments Arteta was doing early last season. Exactly. Though if Pepe leaves we will need another winger and that's where Gnabry comes in. I don't trust Marquinhos to give Saka good competition. |
