Xhaka, Martinelli and Saka all do build-ups but they never miss big chances the way Jesus do this season. I dunno how you're all piling it on the other works Jesus is doing. If he's even seeing these chances deep in 2nd half of the game, I would have understood. But first half? Come on na! We all played ball

We won't actually touch on the main issue(which is his clinicality) instead, we would now want to blame his goal drought on things that he brings to the team that makes the team better like say it's not something good (thereby encouraging him to stop them)

Imagine putting his goal drought on Saka, Xhaka and Martinelli scoring when in reality, he takes more shots, gets more big chances and receives more passes in the opposition box than the trio

His misses on Sunday is not the only one he's missed. On some occasions he's missed in the first half even when game is 20min(Leeds big chance missed a recent example)

We're talking as if this isn't Jesus style of play and he's forced to do all these buildup. No, fyi, that's his style of play and that's the kind of striker Arteta Is looking for. Telling him to stop doing all those things and wait in the box is exactly the same thing that made him ran away from Man city. Same thing that he claimed he wasn't enjoying his ball at Man city

Look at most of his big misses(from Leicester to Bournemouth to Brentford to Leeds to Southampton), you'll find out he doesn't places it at the far corner of the post instead it's always at the central of the keeper. This is not due to tiredness (cos most misses are even in the first half) but this is just him lacking that finishing touch and finesse someone like Martinelli have. Martinelli works as much as he does too, why doesn't composure affect him too?

I just hope our attacking coach will look into finishing/shooting and start working on it cos we need him to start scoring like the others

Man had missed 8 big chances in 11 games, I think the only person rivalling him is Rashford. That's an average of 1 big chance missed per match. He missed two big chances against Southampton and a big chance against Leeds but you're saying Xhaka who scored From a chance against Southampton (not even a big chance) is the one enjoying the benefits? Lol

Once his starts scoring his chance and big chances, he'll normally get his accolades. It's false for you to say his style of play limits him just to benefits others.

You are right and I agree 100% that the ref was horrible. However, It’s not the job of our players to be fair, opponents don’t approach the game with the mindset of being fair.

Infact, it is the job of the refs to ensure the match is fair and that is why he is there, not the players. I have seen teams push and force the referee to make a decision in those situations irrespective of previous incidents.

Saka got a yellow, however, that doesn’t mean the other 2 were illegitimate considerations or opportunities. Other teams would have still forced the silly ref to make a decision because there were contacts in those plays.

Moreover, I've once posted a photo here about Jesus having the most touches in the opposition box. More than any arsenal player and most in Europe top 5 league so you saying he should stay in the f*vvckn box is just you ignorant of the fact that Jesus can actually stay out of the box as well as in the box. Stats proves it also.

Look at this picture below. Jesus have the most big chances of an arsenal player. In fact he's more than twice as much as the next person in terms of big chances missed. How many big chances occur outside the box??

Look at his shots per game. You've watched Jesus this season, how many times have you seen Jesus take outside the box shots??

If you still think it's because Jesus is not Found in the box that's making him not to score then I don't know what else to say.

You think because he runs, drops deep and presses, it now means he's neglecting his primary duties as a striker?

The only thing found wanting in his game is just been clinical. It's facts!!

Tho I believe his finishing is the one that haven't been great so far this season with respect to the chances he gets.

And yeah, his dribbling, one-twos, footworks and dropping deep is what makes us dominate teams. If he doesn't drop deep most times, we wouldn't have progressed with the ball the way we do and our fluidity wouldn't have been there

Irrespective, it is a known fact that you force the ref to make a decision. If it goes otherwise fine but you don’t leave such opportunities, especially when you are seeking all 3 points.

I would have agreed with the bolded if he's not getting at the end of big chances. In fact, amongst all our front 4(in fact front 5 if I'm to include Xhaka), he's the one with the most big chances per game and his the one with the most clear cut misses amongst our forwards.(Note also, I've once posted a statistical picture of Gabriel Jesus touches in the opposition box. He's the highest then in Europe top 5 league for players with most touches in opposition box)

I remember beginning of this season when I was harping about us not being ruthless enough, the two chief culprits are Odegaard and G. Jesus. So no, I don't believe his role is depriving him of goals, I just believe he's not ruthless enough. And that's the reason why it seems Martinelli and Xhaka are taking his shine, that's because they're converting theirs

If time permits, I'll show you screenshots of most of his one on ones (or big chances) he's missed either set up on a platter by teammates or the ones he created by himself game by game from crystal palace match till Southampton.

He just needs to become clinical, that's all.

Also, past 3 matches, I noticed that he's not even as pressing as he's been when we started this season.

The difference between him and Laca is that Laca hardly finds himself in the box to finish moves while Jesus always find himself but he's never finding that corner to finish moves. I notice most of his shot whenever he's coming from an angle Is usually placed towards the central of the keeper and never the far corner. If he can just work on his finishing, he'll be my perfect striker cos that's the type of striker I'm always yearning for.

I don't want him to change his ways cos his ways is making our attack very very fluid, I just need him to be more clinical whenever he finds the chance cos that's the only thing lacking from his game presently.

I just hope our attacking coach work on him or Henry should just do a visit to arsenal for one month and teach him finishing moves

I feel like he's been more caught up in fighting and winning physical duels with defenders than being more clinical. Like yesterday, defenders where trying to rile him up, they're deliberately shoving and pushing him even when he's not without the ball and that is somehow affecting and distracting him imo. He's also been a bit unlucky.

This was me after the Liverpool game. Arteta is over analyzing the game to the detriment of the team now. We have looked flat since Liverpool and seem to be just fighting through games to get results. It’s only 11 games into the season and our important players look out of it.

Liverpool/ Chelsea/ Spuds and Maybe Newcastle will have something to say about the top 4 this season and that is why I have been harping on not dropping points from game 1.

Just because they are professional doesn’t mean they should be treated like machines, even machines break down because of continuous usage despite maintenance.

Fatigue doesn’t happen in one day. Fatigue/ burnout is an accumulation of consistent exposure to the stressors (physical/ mental) over a period of time. Should look back to how Saka has been used over the last 3 seasons?

Don't you even dare! Logging 446 minutes in 20 days, including distant travels back and forth with breaks of 2-3 days is excessive and can lead to burnout.

He played 85 minutes yesterday and in 2 days he will play between 85-90 assuredly against Southampton, that will put his over 530 minutes in 23 days.

Firstly, it has been proven scientifically that burnout and fatigue have a strong relationship to injury in soccer/ athletes in general. Burnout/ fatigue make athletes vulnerable to injury. I have included peer reviewed articles to show you.

You are trying to change the direction of this debate and I will not let you. In your original position you tried to debunk the idea that Jesus and Saka were playing heavy minutes, are being rotated and even used Nketiah who is not a starter/ integral piece of the first 11 to support your claim.

I argued otherwise with stats and numbers to show both Saka and Jesus are infact playing very heavy minutes which makes them susceptible to fatigue/ burnout and it has been proven that burnout makes players vulnerable to injuries, especially muscle related injuries or a loss of form.

The fact that this is being asked during pre/post match conferences shows it is a legitimate conversation to be had because running Saka to the ground over the last 3 seasons has been a recurring issue that needs to be addressed.

Also, no one is undervaluing the UL, however, some of these games did not need Saka/ Jesus to play, especially when you look at the schedule and how much they have played over the last month. It will be interesting to see the lineup against PSV on the 27th; I hope not to see Saka/ Jesus/ Partey suit up or even travel.
