Jodera: But this has always been his game, and anyone who's playing inverted winger role are mostly strikers. If you sub Martinelli for ESR, ESR won't play you inverted winger role.
Let's just assume you meant he's too young or immature to play the Cf role on his own for now, and you want him to use the wing to grow in the cf role, we might agree. But mehn, everyone knows martinelli is a Cf.
Even van persie a striker, started as wing at first, displaying same attributes as martinelli did and we all knew the kind of great striker he turned out to be This here is absolutely correct and that's the way I want my Nwanne Roland to see it. Most inverted wingers are strikers and develop from there. Arteta is doing a good job. |

Jodera: Lol... Spy spy.
He's talking about his movement and finding space in the central area vacated by Laca to cause goal. The movement, the sense to make the run, the space to find and enter, then coupled with the fine finishing. Those are attributes of a Cf and that's martinelli is exhibiting.
Pepe and saka do play wings most times and hardly do you see them display that attribute. When you see striker, you go know one, even tho he play wings.
Even me, I'm all for him to be a striker abeg!! He's a striker or inverted winger depending on how you read games. He's different from Saka and Pepe because he has that sharp run, composure and great finish. But if we play him in the CF role, he will fade out. He's best suited in that inverted role on the LW where he can have space to run into. All thanks to Lacazette too. He's found his partner and both of them are ready to push Auba out of the first team. |

Roland17: This man is a CF, I won't stop saying it. When Leeds got the ball and were attacking, Martinelli sneaks right into the CF position and when Leeds lost the ball Martinelli was slipped in with a good pass from Xhaka and the finishing once again reminds us where his future belongs. Somebody has been shining all the while from the LW position and you attribute it to his being a CF. That LW suits him well since he has Lacazette besides him pulling away defenders and creating loads of space for him to attack with his superior pace. Stop calling him a CF. |

Jodera: Sorry my response is coming a bit late, fell ill ystdy night and couldn't continue. I even missed arsenal match sef.
Back to the issue...
1.. I also admitted that Arteta was wrong in that xhaka-pepe red card favoritism. But I think since after that issue and Willian gone, He's been a bit more fair (at least for now)
2.. For the Ozil's situation, I know that decision was surely from above and not anything to do with Arteta. I see Arteta as a puppet in this case here cos Ozil was always starting our every match before corona break but he was suddenly no longer in the squad after corona again. New season came and even tho Arteta needed a no10, ozil was not listed in both our EPL and Europa squad list. I don't know about you, but I feel power above Arteta made that decision, and Arteta who's just gaining his ground at arsenal, I don't see what much he can do for ozil in that situation.
3... Well once you strip someone of the armband, it's a different thing entirely to benching a player for punishment and bringing him back into the next match. Stripping a player of the armband will have a psychological effect on that player no matter what. And as a coach, you wouldn't want that player in that state of mind to play. Even Emery didn't draft xhaka in immediately when he was stripped off the armband. I'll be waiting to see if auba will be drafted back to draw my conclusion on Arteta, but for now I don't see much wrong he did in this The punishment for Xhaka swearing at fans and refusing to apologize was being striped of the captaincy. Also he served a suspension which kept him away from the team. But he remains a player under salary and should be available when we need his service. He was even almost sold. Auba's case is a bit different because it is off the pitch. His is a case of internal indiscipline which for me is worse. Note that he is not under suspension. After being striped, he would need a time off and that's what he has got for MA. It would be fool headed to push him straight into the team after such a punishment. He would not be psychologically ready. Leave Oga Roland. I know his history with Arteta. |

Roland17: All that you just described is what Titi was doing with Monaco/ Juve until Wenger. Also, I disagree that Martinelli needs space, if anything, it is the opposite.
He has great abilities in small, closed spaces and we have seen a ton of that over the last 3 games. He has the technique to maneuver close markings, we saw numerous dribbles to evade defenders even when he had to go deep in the middle.
If we play like we played yesterday by having numerous offensive players attack the ball with movement and fluidity in the 3rd, there is no way he will not succeed as a CF. His movement and ability to make behind runs and take on defenders is a killer instinct of Striker.
I have seen enough to give him opportunities in that position. He doesn't have the stamina to play in central roles so it is preferred that he evades defenders with his pace after taking up unmarked space. So he needs space. Almost all his goals (apart from the headers) were scored through his use of pace on space. His goal yesterday is a typical example. He evades his marker with his brilliant diagonal run, using his superior speed, then controls the ball before finishing. Brilliant goal. |

Roland17: Nketiah is a box poacher, he has no business playing anywhere else. He does not have the pace or superior ball technique to maneuver and that is why he is typically inside the box. He has a great sense of positioning but still struggles with his conversion ratio. That's my point yet he plays on the LW. Same as Martinelli. |

God bless whoever identified Tomiyasu as a good option for our RB position considering the rubbish Bellerin and Chambers served us in the past. The team is gelling up gradually. But they need to improve in their away games. ESR too showed a lot of confidence gliding through that defense and slotting home the goal. |

Kbs468: Don't worry again because the problem has been Aubameyang because you can see all what I have been preaching about Gabriel Martineli blending and gelling with somebody else in the team like Saka and ESR does which was exactly what he is doing now with Lacazette as Aubameyang has always remained useless if and when he doesn't score unlike Lacazette I agree with you about finding partners. It has always worked and many managers look for such. Klopp has maintained Mane and Salah for years now and still counting. But Lacazette needs to add goals to his game. That's where Auba becomes invaluable. When a coach places you at the tip of the formation he is actually expecting you to score goals. |

Lush100: Cc spy360 Martinelli's best performances that you have referred to were all in the RW position. Mind you, playing from RW doesn't mean he is a winger. Nketiah plays there too. It's all about tactics. Arteta places them there so that they can find space. That's how to get the best from them. Martinelli is a modern inverted winger. Not a CF. |

9 matches 7 wins 1 draw 1 loss 17 goals scored 6 goals conceded +11 goal difference 22/27 points (joint-most home points with Manchester City)
#afc We have been good at home because we play a high line of defense. Arteta does the same against lower teams away. But he is too cautious against bigger teams especially playing away even when he is capable of taking them heads on like against Man Utd and Everton. I want MA to maintain a high line of pressing in away matches or if not, he must know the right set of players to use in a deep set up. |

Roland17: This guy is a CF, I don't care what anyone says..See finishing
#COYG He is better placed on the right as an inverted winger where he can make runs with his pace into scoring positions as he did last night. Martinelli is the type of player that needs space and he uses it very well because he has pace. Opposite is Lacazette who prefers to be in tighter areas. The fact is that, Laca's presence at the centre is what gives Martinelli the impetus to shine. He won't do same if a similar mode of forward is alongside him. Martinelli will be of less threat in a CF position that is already packed with bullying defenders. |

Roland17: I think you guys are misconstruing we that question the sincerity in the decision to mean we tolerate indiscipline. Faarrr from that. You say he benched Auba against Spuds, what happened after that? Did Auba not get back into the starting 11 for the Europa league against Benfica and Westham in the EPL?
At this time Auba is expendable and that is why we are in this space. 10000%, if Auba was topping the scoring chart, he probably would have benched him, even though I doubt it but he would definitely not make Auba an outcast like Auba has become now!
Can you help me explain and justify what happened after Xhaka copped a red card, swore at the fans, refused to apologize to his team mates or fans and got right back into the starting 11 after his ban! Was that the first time? No… So let’s stop this thing.
How about the Ozil situation? Should we revisit how he was treated by Arteta and the club? Bro, management has rules and policies but I can assure you especially if you are in any high level management position that there are creative ways to handle policies and procedures.
Once again, I am not saying the decision is wrong, the club is absolutely right but there is 0 sincerity in the purpose from Arteta! Aubameyang is a big player (the biggest in the squad) so probably Arteta wants to use this opportunity to stamp his authority in the team. Call it ego, but I'd do same to take control if my authority is being undermined. |

iamoyindamola: Do you know Pepe was made to apologize and was benched after serving his suspension Pepe and bench isn't new. He gets benched even after scoring twice in previous matches. Xhaka already got punished by the FA, and got striped of captainship by the club, had Arteta meted more punishment you would still be crying foul and hypocrisy then. Besides these cases are instantaneous events unlike the Auba case which happened overtime. |

Lush100: Sir, we are talking of management
Firstly, if Laca is the 2nd captain, Why take it off him now. How do we know what it would do to his performance. He hasn't shown he does not value it, Until he leaves treat the player like he is part of the team, doing otherwise can bring this season to disruption. When he leaves, giving the armband to another person would be logical and would need no explanation.
2ndly, If MA says to press conference, that Auba is not available, You have protected the club and the player. When the news comes, they would have known u tried to protect both. MA can maintain that the player is still not available, even with rumors, The club can put the matter on the website but the manager must not make any comment to that because arteta is not going to lace boot and kick the ball, the players will.
3rdly, It would be easier to bring a player back from bench or substitute appearance if you did not "display " this thing publicly and he would be giving his best performance because he understands u tried to protect the matter. Unless he just want to coach clubs for 2 or 3 seasons . You used the word 'protect' multiple times. What are we protecting? |

Roland17: You are not the only one my brother. There is so much insincerity and hypocrisy laced in Arteta’s decision, sadly not everyone will see it because he is laying down the law. I no wan talk too much but if we follow the history of Arteta since he joined Arsenal, you should know this man is nothing but a con man.
This is not about liking or hating the man, this is not about doing the right thing against Auba.. This is about the fact that Arteta is very inconsistent in how he has man managed the team. If Auba was scoring 30 goals or saving his job like Saka did, I can guarantee you the intern will find a way around this situation.
No one should misconstrue my opinion to mean I support an indiscipline player, if you do, you are on your own and it proves you have no idea about the personality behind this handle. I personally know your history with Arteta and that disqualifies your opinion on the matter in my court of logic and reasoning. |

The club needs do better. Its not in a position to get sensible loyal guys currently. SHORT term contracts, with players being the one eager to extend may be the way. It will curb this nonsense entitlement of players thinking they are doing the club a favor. Short term contracts gives the advantage to the players not club. Clubs generally prefer long term. |

Lush100: Firstly, This issue should have been done without the noise
I know the press will ask questions but there was no need to bring it to the press conference. Me think there was personal insults into this matter else, i see no reason.
Nketia has not been playing They should have just done the same for auba. They should av just benched him like Pepe and do the whole discipline internally If auba now makes noise about the matter via SM, then the club can make a statement with facts (stating his poor performance too) Wenger would not have allowed this.
This thing sends out negative vibes no matter how you picture it and i can bet even if we get top4, arteta would be replaced eventually. Only a serial winning coach would be allowed this sort of thing, Why not maintain Laca as captain and add odegard to the group.
This is baby management haba Is Arsenal is secret cult? The way we think sometimes... Any reason why Aubameyang not being named in the match day squad cannot be kept internally as you put. Talk less of a disciplinary action as big as being striped of his captaincy. There must be a public statement which has been made. The situation was perfectly handled. |

Almost the same happened to saliba when he lost his mom, he went to france spent more than he was given, arteta put him up in a match and concluded he wasn't ready he doesn't even know if the boy have recovered losing his mother I don't like auba especially now that he's useless to us but that arteta is not innocent kankan, no wonder he couldn't say the real reason for punishing auba You are feeling for him because it involves his mother which I understand. But believe me, there are many things we don't know about going behind the scenes. I thing I am sure of is that Arteta and Auba are good friends. Arteta is showing that he is not afraid to make big decisions which for me is good. The team is young and everyone, Arteta and Auba and the other senior players must ensure they don't lay any bad foundations that will be detrimental to the club. |
