Ten Hag is a good manager. But it actually stems from the club's traditions. They play that way. They have been playing that way since I can remember their history. All their youth teams play that way. In fact players start learning the pattern from age 6. It's in their blood.

So while we accept he is a good manager. He only just has a perfect understanding of the Ajax system. He will have to implement that system wherever he goes or he will burn. That's why great former Ajax managers that go elsewhere always look to sign players from Ajax or their ex players. A Barca coach once signed all former Ajax players into his first eleven. When you play in Ajax you are only a part of a whole. They play as a whole and so can be very difficult to beat.
Any player will look good in that Ajax set up. In fact, many players who looked good at Ajax came out to realise they still needed a little more learning. In recent years- De Ligt, VdB, Ziyech, de Jong etc.

This has been their tradition. How do you think they can sell all their stars and still compete favourably the following season using fresh legs?

Dealing with the Salah threat is not with a marker but with tactics. Every star player can be neutralised using the right tactics.

Liverpool were able to neutralise Partey by closing up all the passing lanes to him and allowing Lokonga control Arsenal's midfield instead of Partey. It worked. If there was another quality midfielder, like Xhaka, the tactics may not have worked depending on how Xhaka could control a game.

You can't handle Salah by marking him. He's good enough to beat anyone and even if he doesn't he will pull you out of position for the likes of Mane and Jota to wreck havoc. Salah is dealt with through tactics and team play.

Salah's strength is mainly in the movement of TAA. So the way to beat Salah is to restrict TAA. To do so, someone who has pace, stamina or dribbling should position himself at the LW whenever TAA overlaps. Then the entire team should try to find that guy once they win the ball. Lacazette could have been excellent doing that job because of his stamina, another person is Pepe, Martinelli etc. This will restrict TAA's movement and also isolate Salah upfront.

Starting Lokonga was a mistake in my opinion. AMN has better experience in England and against Liverpool and should have started instead. He is even better than Lokonga on that LCM, who does well at RCM where Partey plays. In other words, it should be AMN partnering Partey in Xhaka's absence and not Sambi.

Tavares was over rated after his impressive performances in Tierney's absence. Most people were carried away, but I stated here that Tavares is just being too energetic and confident and that he may not be able to manage his decisions when foraging forward compared to Tierney.

But no qualms, we were never going to beat Liverpool anyways. So it was a good lesson time for the boys.

Brighton's recent performances are due to coaching (they pass the ball very well and are resolute in defending) and timing. The latter will phase out and then they will be exposed. So anyone looking at just their players may be risking being disappointed. They have got one or two good players but let's not go overboard.

I am quite confident the club will invest in a quality striker and winger during the upcoming transfer windows. Having seen the impact of the new signing and the present spirit among the players, there will be investment.

So what we should be looking at is who and who should the club be going after and not whether we should be beating Liverpool at Anfield.

First Arteta has managed the steer the club from a sackable 20th position to a respectable 5th. That's progress. If the season ends like this, it will be seen as remarkable success especially knowing where we are coming from. You will say this is mediocrity, but I'll say it's not being stupid. It will be humongous for us to compete with City or Chelsea or Liverpool and top them any of them. Our squad is only capable of finishing above 7th position. If they accomplish better, then Kudos to them.

No one is criticizing any players

Any team can get beaten 4-0, it depends on how it was done. When you compare this with that of Man City and previous games you see a lot of improvement. I am not saying we should clap for them, I am saying give them some break.

Imagine o. This team is showing signs of progress. Ramsdale, ESR and Saka got called up to ENT and the three of them didn't disappoint. Same with Gabriel. There's a lot of improvement in the team. I will not judge them based on this Liverpool game.

I am expecting them to come back against Newcastle and continue their progress. I tell you with the right coaching, they will beat this same Liverpool in a couple of years coming.

And please when we say strengthen defense first that doesn't mean ignore midfield and attack. For now our defense is a bit solid, further strengthening can now come elsewhere.
