BlueRayDick: I can’t speak for him because I really don’t know why he takes those decisions , but a part of me thinks he’s afraid of failure hence why he prefers to use more experienced hands in the job.
You will agree with me that part of reasons responsible for Wenger’s woes in his last years at Arsenal was his unflinching love for youth;he used youthful players to a fault. He lost FA cups, Carling cups to his love for youthful players and it hurt us all badly. Look at Arteta fielding a strong team matching Chelsea , Man city etc on our way to winning the FA cup.
While I’m a fan of giving youth a chance, I do not subscribe to having them populate the whole team list. Arsenal is not Ajax playing in the Dutch league . The truth is we can’t have all our youth players walking into the team and displacing the older ones just like that. The fact that we lost out in the FA cup and carabao cup early this won’t help the youth players. Arteta is our to make a statement in the Europa league and definitely won’t risk throwing dem Azeez , Balogun just like that; I’m sure the players know this and will be looking towards impressing the coach when they have the chance .
As for Martinelli and Nelson I really do not understand why they aren’t playing even Europa league regularly . Only Arteta knows why he’s treating them like that especially when players like Willian and Pepe weren’t in form Martinelli has not been fit long enough to stake a position. He plays mostly on the right wing, that use to belong to Auba until Odegaard came, and now ESR seems preferred there which for me is OK. Martinelli needs a goal badly, the longer he waits the less chance he gets. As for Nelson, he is in the same shoes with Balogun (unfortunately) he has to wait for next season to make another push or he has to do something extra ordinary in training or when giving the chance on match day. |

Jodera: Lol... We are just saying about our improvement going forward, or improvement in Auba's play. Halaand and mbappe isn't the only great player or striker in the world, there are players we can actually get that can effectively do that on a cheap. All we just need to do is look deeper or scout deeper. Either within or around other clubs. Saying we need 200m to sign mbappe or halaand is you giving an excuse for us not to improve Let me ask a simple question. How deep can one look to find such a striker, that others won't find? |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Spy360(m): 9:54am On Feb 27, 2021 |
Jodera: Really really glad for the win over benfica. By the 80th minute, I was already #Artetaout# . Thank goodness auba was at his clinical best and Saka was still Saka. All in all, it was a good game and the trio of saka, Auba and Tierney saved ceballos and Arteta from arsenal fan's rage .
Tinz I observed
1... We need more than bellerin. We need a very very good rb that's unpredictable with a good crossing and attack (as well as defence).
2... I wholly agree with Blueray too. Granted Auba scored two valuable goals and we are glad for that. Not undermining his goals but we need more than that now (not just we, the game has evolved for strictly a poacher). The good thing is that we were dominant against benfica, but what if we met teams of equal or greater than us. That'll make him missing in games. We need to sell Lacazette and buy a more rounded striker next season
3.. Saka need game off. Not as a sub but As in actual rest against Leicester. He shouldn't be in the squad going to play against Leicester. Arteta should please catch head and give that guy a breather abeg. Not that we have any hope for top 4, and we still have a tie against Olympiacos on Thurs which is more important than Leicester game and we have deputy to take over saka role in martinelli or Pepe. I would really question Arteta if I see him play saka cos that guy(Saka) looks tired and knackered on Thurs.
Onto Olympiacos, hopefully we scale through to the quarters this time.
COYG!!... we move! It you need more than 1hat Auba is giving bring 200million sign Mbappe or Harland. If not love your dog the way it is. |

BlueRayDick: Well, that was after the die minute goal was scored. My position was from the whole first half to the moment he scored that goal. He offered little threat to their defence. I appreciate the fact that he scored those two goals, but we would've pounced in him for being lost in the match if Saka didn't play that pass anf cross and the match ended 2-2.
What I'm saying is going forward we need a striker that can create something out of nothing. I get you but it's not easy creating chances and scoring at the same time. Take Timo Werner for example, he does a lot of ball work but hardly scores. Auba does little ball work but at least when needed he gets at the end of the final ball. I will easily forgive his anonymity for most part of the game as long as he keeps scoring. Someone has to play that final ball even if it means a simple tap in, and Auba does that, so for me it's just OK. |

BlueRayDick:

I just dey vex watching the match . Nobody to step up and create something except Saka steps up.!
For the first time I think it’s time for Auba to make way for another top striker . Auba needs to make way for a striker that offers us much more than goals ..... the team has so many inadequacies , having a striker who can’t do anything aside scoring only when he’s clear on goal is one of our problems as a team. He’s practically useless off the ball , no hustling like Martinelli does I think Aubameyang did what he needed to do yesterday, he took his chances which for us was more important than creating any. I think bar the defensive errors, the team did well as the ground was a neutral ground. |

Akinbahm: Really, but if you look closely u gonna see say the defence is far far away from shit since inclusion of Gabriel... I have said it times without number that no individual is responsible for our defensive strength this season, rather it is the entire team structure and defending from the front. Last night Arteta threw all those away in search of goals, and so when exposed our back two couldn't hold their own. |

Jodera: in as much as I want to agree with you, but I think that's not a right choice.
If we can't get champions league spot, then Europa suppose to be the sure bet. In group stages, we can use our young stars and unearth new gems if possible. For we to know who martinelli, ESR, balogun and saka are is because of Europa. Not only will it give our main squad needed rest but it'll also giving playing time to these youngsters. Arteta sha is the one misusing Europa group stage cos our main squad isn't suppose to travel to those games at all not to talk of featuring I also agree with you but you and I know that it won't work. We have too average players to pursue multiple competitions. Look at Aston Villa, they don't have a big squad but they do well by playing same 11 which makes them a tight knitted team. They can do so because they have almost one week of rest inbetween games. So for one season we can forget Europe and just quietly play only PL and finish top 4 jejely. This will make us offload lots of deadwoods. |
