Jodera: var checked it, I'm sure cos I saw it.
Sometimes, I just feel the work of var is useless in epl VAR only viewed it, no decision or call to order. When Saka was fouled by Boly, VAR refused to view. When Lacazette scored, VAR came to life. Jon Moss, Amadioha should look for you this year. |

BlueRayDick: It's actually a foul and a straight red. A player doesn't need to tug at Ur shirt or lunge a sliding tackle to commit a foul na So if I blow you breeze and you fall, it's a red. Because that's what happened. There was no intention nor involvement from Luiz there. My problem is why isn't Saka's case a penalty? |

Yellow card and pk yes.
Looking critically at that, Luiz didn't make any challenge. It was even the striker that clip Luiz heel sef. In the eyes of God and man that is never a foul talk of penalty, or red card. This is demonic witch-hunt |

Jodera: Hmmm... I'm surprised this is coming from you sha. Cos I know at first you were one of those against the "individuals".
This was my response months ago to blueray concerning my thoughts on our defence
Why did I bring this up? Cos I know most of you against the defence was due to personnel problems. In fact I listed that our defence can be resolved and improved on, carefully omitting mustafi and sokratis(like I said, Gabriel haven't been bought yet) and I said those CBs for now can hold us if improved upon technically. Most of you disagreed, even afrodoc says he won't see himself picking any of those clowns if given for free(he's still entitled to that sha, cos I believe everyone have their preference). The organization you're talking of is what I've been preaching since. Maybe, just maybe I wasn't able to pass the message across effectively.
Nb: I'm not against signing of Gabriel. Maybe I sounded like I was before, but I retract that presently if it seems I was against signing of Gabriel in this squad.
But the point I just want to pass is that our defence is not that bad the way it was painted before, it was Emery that just made it look very very very worse than usual. Bros our defense was poor, this includes both the individuals and the tactics itself. What Arteta has done was to change their mentality and gave them more responsibility and purpose. First he made them pass from the back to keep possession, then he made the front guys to start the pressing unlike before when they will be strolling. Arteta has made the entire team defensive minded and made them work very hard at it. The likes of Socrates and Mustafi couldn't keep with the development and had to find their way out. Earlier on Holding was to be sent away but for a timely intervention by Arteta. Now he is reaping the benefits. So in summary, forget all we had said before, the situation on ground now is that the defense has improved and Arteta and the entire team not any one deserves the praise. What |

One fact that cannot be disputed is that Xhaka has been a mainstay with all the managers we have had since Wenger. There must be something they see in him despite his shortcomings. When Partey was joining many feltvthatvwoukd be the end of Xhaka, but lo and behold. More so it's like Xhaka's form is an indicator of the form of the entire team. Xhaka should be captain, he is the real leader in that team.
As for our defense, it's not the individuals that's changed but the pattern. I have hammered this overtime. It does not matter the combination, Holding - Luiz, Holding - Mari, Luiz - Gabriel, Holding - Gabriel etc., the pattern is the same and it's working. At a time we thought it was Gabriel, then no it was Mari, now it's Holding or Luiz who have improved, but it's none of these. It's the Arteta defensive approach. Unless you see it this way, you won't stop deceiving yourself. |

Jodera: I hope Pepe improves more. In as much he tried against man u, but I feel he was a bit individualistic to a fault. Most times he would have squared the ball for an empty tap in, but he'll choose to go for a shot himself.
Another thing is that relies most on his left leg too much. He should try and be using his right once in a while, that will make him unpredictable and not a "one way" guy.
Once that happens, our attack will really complement our defence Pepe's selfishness comes from the pressure of having to meet his goals target, something that may have been included in his contract. Many top clubs do so for expensive signings. It's the job of the manager to ease him from that pressure. As for his right leg, I think it's too late. Nature has given more strength to his left leg. Many good players are one legged they have only need to use it to their advantage and not see it qs a disadvantage. One legged players are usually faster when they move with the ball and are more accurate when they shoot. This is because their mental strength is highly concentrated on that part of their body. Pepe can use it to his advantage. He must learn to play in close spaces as a club like Arsenal will most often face opposition who sit deeper. He should also improve in his off the ball movement, just as Martinelli and ESR. He has the talent and should come good for us with time. That said I think we wasted money on him. |

Roland17: Bruno should have seen yellow, at the worst for that stamp on Xhaka’s heel. It was shameful.. Also FRIDGE should have seen a yellow or red for that rubbish against Lacazette. Our solidity in defense reminds me of the Campbell/Toure days. It's so difficult to score against us. This solidity has been the bedrock of our climb back to the top of the league. I feel so confident that with the attack finding a way to score we will come out with three points in most of our forthcoming matches. |

BlueRayDick: U are not getting the gist.
The whole of the team that travels to Portugal to play benfica will have to quarantine for 10 days after they return. This means all those players will be unavailable for selection vs Levaister and man city which of course leaves us with our feeders team.
This in essence means we either field a strong team vs benfica and take a step closer to moving to the next round of europa or we prioritize advancing in the EPL by sending feeders team to Portugal and leaving the senior boys to rest at home and stay fresh for the clashes with Leicester and man city. My suggestion is to play Benfica with the likes of Willock, Elneny, AMN, Nketiah i.e most of our second string players and boost them with some performing U21 players hungry for relevance eg Azeez, Balogun, Moller etc. Let the first team and other fringe players focus on the two league games within that quarantine period. But it will also mean that the same players who would travel to Benfica would not be available for the return leg in London, this may include the Benfica players too. UEFA has to either play the game in a neutral venue or postpone the second leg. |

BlueRayDick: I don't want to bother myself thinking whether it is true or not. A young player that hasn't "broken into substitute bench"( if there's anything like that) will not be guilible enough to do that irrespective of what his agent is telling him.
It is only normal for u to get some quality game time under u belt before making such demands.
I will regard it as beer parlor talk till proven otherwise No club in Europe will offer a rookie 60k per week. They didn't give Messi not to talk of Balogun, Nigeria made. |

Jodera: it's true.
But arsenal is in talks to move it to neutral ground. I hope we'll be successful with it, cos I don't see why they would want to handicap arsenal when actually, it's not our fault. It's a UEFA decision. I believe they don't want to contribute to the spread of covid19 or endanger the goodwill the game enjoys in this critical time when someone people have even suggested another halt in sporting activities. |

Jodera: I swear, me too I've seen odegaard play that's why I'm optimistic of his signing.
Also, I don't think they'll sell him even for 30m. Modric is getting old and for someone they've held onto since 15yrs till now he's almost hitting peak, it'll be unwise to sell him. Not as if they've another Am sef
We just need to look for another good Am sha and forget about buying odegaard. Or create one for ourselves. Most clubs that are successful now are on self sustaining model. RB Leipzig, Salzburg, Ajax, Dortmund etc. They train or buy young boys and groom them into stars. They are not afraid to sell because they have the system in place to groom these future stars. The emergence of Saka, ESR, Nketiah, Balogun etc prove that we have the right system in place to achieve this. |

BlueRayDick: I don't know if it's just me, but I think Cedric is a better fullback compared to Bellerin. I think he just needs to get his confidence high, more playing time and we will be calling for bellerin to be forgotten on the bench. Looking back to the build-up for that third goal ysterday, I was really impressed with how he didn't waste time switching the ball to the other end of the field; that is some Alexander-Arnold shiiit right there .
I also like the fact that he doesn't hesitate to make runs into the box when need be and he's not scared to attempt a shot.(He nearly scored a beauty yesterday but for the wind). I hope Arteta doesn't just relegate him to the bench behind Bellerin when Tiernney comes back. The good thing is that we now have a ready backup for both fullback roles. I am pretty sure he will get enough game time with such displays. |
