Jodera: I think you're mistaking RB Leipzig with RB Salzburg. Spy was talking about the German team.
Tho, your contribution on the 3rd paragraph is exactly my thoughts too. That's the only way we can move forward. The third paragraph you are referring to isn't my point. I am not saying we should be like RBL, but that we should adopt their footballing ideology. Off course similar to the Wenger days when we won the league thrice and got to the CL finals. |

BlueRayDick: At the end of the day, they still don't win anything aside their local league(which is not even among the top 5 leagues in Europe). We on the other hand are playing in a league where more than half of the 20 teams in the league have sizable amount of funds to invest in buying players. I mean look at a team like Wolves that has about 3 to 4 regular starters in Portugal on their team list. Na money be dat.
This ur suggestion is like wishing Wenger days repeat itself. Football has gone beyond paying next to nothing for young crop of talents, grooming them into superstars, selling some for profit and keeping the ones that like to stay.
It is best we bring in youngsters like Saka & co groom them alongside spending good money to bring quality players. Even Loserpool that is halfway tru to lifting the EPL spent money in getting a world class keeper and a decent defender in Van Djik. They haven't won anything but they look like they can. RB Leipzig actually climbed to the top league within 8 years of their formation and are into just their third season in the league and are already beating the likes of Spurs in the KO stage of the CL. That's phenomenal considering the financial period we are in today. For them to accomplish that without big spending makes it even more magical. I am proposing the model not so that we can sell the players or avoid buying stars, but because it can create a balance that will be enviable. When you look at the punishments the likes of City and PSG are receiving for overspending you know big spending is not really appreciated by fans. The model itself can reduce risks/errors in signings and make funds available to get the real quality players. And FYI, the Bundesliga is among the top 5 leagues in the world and quite a number of people rate it the best because of their ownership model and the number of fans that attend matches. |

I watched how RB Leipzig dismantled Tottenham in the CL and wondered how the same model and approach can work for us. They spend close to nothing on players and buy young talents that are relatively unknown, but with a very good manager and football director, they have been able to build a team that can win things. Despite selling most of their top talents they still find a way of replacing them and keep challenging for the title. |

kokanepyramid: i want us to try Torreira and Ceb pairing next, where Torreira is the sweeper and Ceb does the transition. Xhaka is too rigid and static. Xhaka,'s role as cover for Saka is too sweet to let go. We would need Tierney back to replace Xhaka. |

sod09: We are still 10 chimo The league position really hides the level of achievement this team has made since Arteta. The number of draws says it all. Swissh: Now let's talk about Torreira. Does he still get into the starting 11? I will rather pair Xhaka with a creative player than a Ball winner. Everton and Westham at home next are perfect games to get some momentum going for us before playing Brighton and Southampton away. Champions league is looking like a possibility now. Ceballos was nice because it was Newcastle and we were at home. Against stronger opposition, I think Torriera would be better in the DM position together with either Xhaka or Ceballos, of which I'd prefer Xhaka. |

Anyways I also think the guy is decent just that the nuts in his brain easily come off especially at odd times. He would do well by just sticking to defending and leave Luiz to the job of sending long passes. I am becoming sick of his vain attempts to build attack only to send a pass that is either over hit or under hit. |

mostob: ceballos is not that bad at the AM. He has this kind of movement and dribbling that just seems to make something happen. He also take clean shots at times. The only thing about him is that he gets dribbled too easily. Ozil's form this season kinda make iwobi's departure a bit painful sha Ozil's performance has dropped but he is still the best chance creator in the team. Next is Pepe. Both should be starting until we get better replacements. |

I understand that most of us felt Saka would win it (Roland17), fact is it would have been equally deservin. But Martinelli's goal against Chelsea and the fact that he covered for Aubameyang, a more influential member of the team for three games without us missing him stood him out by an inch.
Kudos Gabi. |

Jodera: Please, I want to ask, is little at stake at arsenal? As far as the league is concerned, there is little at stake. That is we surely aren't winning the league and top four is almost out of reach. I know you will question the latter, but I am a realist. Our failure to reach the min 4pts difference against the fourth team at this time of the year, makes it difficult to finish fourth. That fact that we are about 11pts off fourth makes it even more astronomical. A reasonable route to CL obviously becomes the Europa while we hope that the mistakes of last season won't repeat. That said, players such as Ceballos can be preserved to represent us in EL where we have higher probability of achieving something meaningful. But in the EPL young prospects like Willock, Martinelli, Guendouzi, Nketiah must be given the chance to learn and grow. If we win the EL, we can afford the millions needed to keep Ceballos. If we don't win, then we forfeit him. It will cost us nothing to keep Willock whether we win or lose. But we have much to gain next season if the playing time helps to improve his game. Hope this helps. |
