It's like man of the match awards.

A player can win the motm but that doesn't mean he is the best quality in the line up.

A striker might be highest goal scorer but that may not make him the best striker.

Harry Kane was highest goal scorer both in the EPL and in the World Cup, yet didn't make the nominations.

There is a thin difference between Best Player and Most Valuable player.

Salah for example may not make PSG front 3.

So he can be best performer in terms of what contributions was offered within the year, but in terms or value/quality he may not be top choice.

I am with @kokaneprodigy. I don’t think a Gundoezi/ Torreria combination will be successful, especially in the EPL.

A 19 year old and a 22 year old manning our central midfield in their first EPL season is nothing but a receipe for disaster. While both are exceptionally talented, they need experienced players around them to provide direction and cover. Gundoezi is good but he needs a calm, experienced head to help when he wanders or losses the ball. He has the tendency of getting carried away.

I think the Xhaka/ Torreira combination has better prospects. Infact, I thought today was one of Xhaka’s best games in a long time. He was disciplined with his tackles and positioning. Even though he played higher in the second half, he tracked back and provided that pivot along with Torreira that provided good cover for the back 4. On the offense, he kept it very simple and distributed the ball excellently for us which put us in good attacking positions very early.

I just hope Sokratis’s injury is not serious because he has been tremendous for us over the last 3 games including the Europa.

I think Fkhalifa was talking about the future not now.

I think in years to come with more experience, Guendouzi could become one of the best midfielders in the league based on his age/performance index.

This was an impressive performance from the team and they are definitely building and gaining confidence from games. The chemistry and passing looked better today and building from the back, while still jittery, was better today.

Special mentions to Cech, Xhaka, Torrerira and Laca for that spectacular goal.

The best performance of the season thus far for me.

The mentality of this team is worthy of note. We have been winning games without really being dominant. This is key to a successful season. Unlike before where we lose despite dominating the opposition.

This Everton lineup has a lot speed. Richalison, Walcott and Calvin Lewin would look to take runs at our back line.

I never said Auba was as good as Henry. I only pointed out that both have similar play patterns in that they both depend on their speed and positioning. That was after we discussed having him pair Lacazette upfront, not as a winger but as CF. I wasn't even comparing the two. I was only looking at how both play the game.

Mind you, when a foolish boy wants foolish talk, I have loads of them to feed him with.
