Ibime: Serge Gnabry just made his debut for Germany and has been tearing down Bundesliga.
I remember using him as an example to Spy360 of why players out on loan are not prioritised by the loaning club - this after Tony Pulis told us Gnabry is not good enough for West Brom and kept him on the bench all year. The same Serge Gnabry is good enough for Die Mannschaft. Very correct. Any serious minded player should simply avoid going out on loan unless he has a guarantee of playing time. |

MrDojo: Wenger sold gnabry becuz he did not want to sign a new contract, instead of letting him go for nothing wenger sold him for something... Player come player go... Arsenal remains...goodluck to him, other Good startlets will replace him.... He needed assurances of playing time. Anyway you are right, players come and go. |

edi287: Gnabry scores on his German debut....I swear this guy's exit will come back to bite us. We should never have loaned him to that fucker Pulis After his heroics at the Olympics, I thought he was goona stay. Was shocked when Arsene sold him. Bad business. Very bad. |

edi287: Alexis is probably not going to play against manure. So it's either the Ox/Iwobi starting on the left. I don't trust Giroud for this game...I don't know why...but he's always flopped when we played Chelsea with Mou around. We know how Mou is going to set up against us and we won't be able to counter with him up top. If Alexis wont play then our attack will be blunt. Simple. If Walcott plays 9, Ramsey should play RW. Please never use Ox. |

solomonbrown64: Wenger knows he can't beat a Mourinho team if he starts Giroud.... The big man is not even fully fit yet, so Walcott up front and then the big man comes in the second half when the opposing defenders are tired.... ... If we want to defeat man u, we have to Mobile upfront.... That's the key... A mobile front is an excellent idea, but the point is that Giroud is better than Walcott in that no9 position. At least Wenger thinks so, so do I. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Spy360(m): 8:53pm On Nov 11, 2016 |
edi287: Only on few occasions we didn't have Ozil. We played a 4-1-4-1 when he tried to fit ramsey and Wilshere in the team and played Ozil on the left.
The only time Wenger has beaten Mou is with a mobile striker. Think it's a risk starting Jenko. It was 4-1-4-1 two seasons back. We changed to 4-2-3-1 when our defending was shite- Cazorla dropping in and Coquelin sitting deeper. It also gives Ozil less defensive work. I think we should play 4-2-3-1. With Giroud as 9, Sanchez and Walcott on the wings cutting in. Iwobi has dropped form, he now makes Sanchez wasting upfront. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Spy360(m): 8:42pm On Nov 11, 2016 |
solomonbrown64: ... Nope, that won't work as Ozil will get easily marked out of the game by Herrera and Chamberlain still doesn't know the meaning of team work yet.... .... I think Wenger will start with a midfield of Xhaka and Francis.... ... Ozil as the number ten, Walcott as Striker and Ramsey and Iwobi on both flanks... ... If Sanchez is fit, Ramsey will return to Midfield as I personally think Coquelin is a major setback when it comes to the offensive side of our game... He might start from the bench if Sanchez is fit because Ramsey must play by all means according to Wenger... I agree with you that Ozil as a false nine will just be a waste. Cazorla should be fit. So expect a midfield of Cazorla, Coquelin and Ozil. Front 3 will be Iwobi (if Sanchez is not fit), Walcott and Giroud. It is important to note that Wenger trusts Giroud as 9 more than Theo. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Spy360(m): 8:32pm On Nov 11, 2016 |
edi287: Yeah you have a point...I feel he needs to be flexible at times. With the midfield we have, we should consider playing a 4-3-3 once in a while...didn't like how Dembele bossed our midfield last game. Wenger plays 4-3-3 na. Spurs played a 3-5-2, and that's because they were cautious of not losing. That formation came as a shock to Arsenal as Poch never uses it. It was a defensive formation, and having more men in the midfield they dominated it. If Arsene had known, Ramsey could have started. For Man Utd game, if Jenko is at RB then Giroud MUST start. |

cescky: No kidding man...yea iwobi has been a shadow of himself of late but he has pace..
Last time we beat Man U last season in the league it was down to I think Sanchez Monreal and Coqlin not giving DePay breathing space infant it was after that match vangal started benching him... Ie we totally changed tactics that day.
Wenger needs to find their most potent man and guard him..for their mostly an average lot and we can harm them on the counter Mou knows that Wenger won't compromise his will to play possesion and attack despite it has hurt him several times, even with a less quality side. I think he should just do the opposite and let Mou attack. A draw would be the last thing in Mou's wishes, |

cescky: Yes it's truth ... But like wenger said which I also believe " he's got it all in his locker" ..i.e. he can actually do big things if only he believes in himself
Ox has gotten more than 6 or so years to prove his worth...no other top club can offer him this chance . I doubt he'll ever sour to his potential definitely not this season.
U know these days teams big teams don't always play with a natural 9... I'd go with Ramsey and Walcott on the wings...iwobi foward... Even if he doesn't score his pace and strength can weary defenders before we opt for giroud. This would have the perfect time for Lucas unfortunately. Playing without a 9? None of our MF are good at goal. We need at least 1 player who can score. If not na fruitless effort. Possession without progression. |

cescky: Can't we have an intelligent discourse about Arsenal here ...instead of this boys trying to display their average literature skills....
Who takes over the Sanchez role, now that he may be out? I think iwobi needs to step up a notch and Sanchez may not be sorely mised...either as a winger or a striker .... Iwobi of late has been very average. If Sanchez doesn't recover quick, we would lose a very huge part of our attacking strength. It should have been an opportunity for Ox to step up but I don't know. He is even worse. #In Arsene We Trust. |

Only your club has played less long balls than "long ball united" so far in the league. The notion of negativity you tried to portray is on your face like rotten eggs.
Oga take an "L" You show you have little understanding of how your team plays. With Fellaini, Pogba, Ibra et al its all long balls. What else does Valencia do? When he gets the ball, Ibra and his fellow horses gallop towards the 18yard box. |

I believe he is the best when attacking among them all, but he is at the same time the least when it comes to defending...
We were to soft in the final third, iwobi made me miss welbeck today
I also want to disagree with lots who insists spurs are easily beatable, I swear they are very hard nut to crack, they are to me the best team so far to play at the emirate this season..
Not many will get 3 points against them in the league... Go write it down. Please Cazorla is the best midfielder we have on all fronts. Since he got injured, we lost our grove. Hope he returns soon. |

kokaneprodigy: I can never understand Y Wenger subbed Walcott for Chamberlain at that time in the game. You don't bring in Ox when looking for goal. It's not the change, it's the personel. Technical error rather than tactical. Ox should be loaned out in January. |
