FvckeDyoBiTch: I detest Assnal fans. Seriously what gives them the fvcking audacity to attack other clubs. How many trophies do they even have.
I keep saying it, the only reason why they haven't faded into obscurity is because they are based in London.
The only phenomenal players they have Is Ozil and that coward will rather pass than shoot and Bellerin all pace no sense. See as your mouth be like gutter. People like you should be confined in an assylum for making such comments. Bellerin that is currently the best RB in the EPL? Fade into obscurity? A team that finished above every other team based in both London and Manchester? Damn it! A team that has consistently made UCL? A team that has the record for FA cup, that has won 4 titles in the past 3 seasons? Waka! That's all I can say. |

Add a moblie, consistence goal scorer in this squad and I shall be confident going into the season. There are no proven goal scorers available in the transfer market. Arsenal fans should get that straight. What we are looking for is a partner for OG. |

Specialist900: with AW constant complain of no striker in the market won't we manage Bony?
I still wonder why AW couldn't bid for Dzeko when he left city Dzeko is worse than Walcott. The calibre of strikers we need are of the class of Aguero, Suarez, Lewandoski, Griezmann, Higuain etc Or else a striker that would become the next big thing eg Lacazette, Icardi, Morata etc Honestly, if not these, lets just groom Akpom. |

Nihilist: Bony was the league top scorer till City signed him in January.
He was super good at Swansea but was competing with the best striker in England (and arguably the world) at City. Plus Pelle-mumu-grini didn't exactly play to his strengths.
Bony is an excellent striker(in the right system), and I would definitely take him at Chelsea. He doesn't seem fast enough to play in the Arsenal set up as I would wish. I mean we want a fast striker to offer us something different from Giroud. |

MrDojo: Starting chambers and holding is a very "BIG" risk/gamble to which wenger cannot offord to lose...becuz the team they are playing are Wolves on the Counter and they will Destroy any form of confidence the young CBs are trying to build.... Imagine lallana, mane N origi/friminho against chambers and holding......the risk is too big...
Better to sign an established CB...than starting 2 high inexpirenced CBs
But wenger is the professional, what to I knw...don't be suprised wen you see debuchy or Le coq there... Inexperience does not mean novice. Given proper shielding they will not capitulate. Besides, even with experienced CBs Loserpool can still score. Experience or not, our game plan should be to attack çonstantly as this will peg them back, given the CB breathing space. That match would always produce goals. Whoever outscores the other wins. |

Personally I really think Wenger should give Chambers and Holding the benefit of doubt against Liverpool, it is our first game and risk is low. Not only will it boost their confidence, it will also prepare them psychologically for the future. This is an opportunity for experience you don't want to miss, till we sign an experienced CB.
I think Xhaka will start, and he is competing with Elneny not Coquelin who is a different type of player. Xhaka and Elneny are players that can pass the ball from defence to attack, Coquelin can't. He is more of shield. My preferred midfield is....
…….....…..Ramsey.......….... ... Cazorla.…..…. Xhaka....
On the strikers,
Leave the wings for Sanchez and Iwobi and start either of Walcott or Akpom. Someone talked about Akpom running with heads down but so was Harry Kane in his breakthrough season. Akpom scored 4 goals at preseason, call them ofee goals but they didn't come by magic. I wouldn't mind 3 ofee goals against Liverpool, would you? |

Diademk07: Messi hardly dribble like that!
My major point is whenever Sanchez goes off the boil like he did last season, the right wing won't be as useless either. It would also help to shift the main focus from Sanchez 'cos the 2 wings would both look threatening to the opposition teams.
Anyway, na you sabi. Continue with the likes of Iwobi, Campbell et al, We all know no one dey help you contest the top 4 position. I appreciate your concern, but like someone mentioned, we are duly covered with the likes of Iwobi, Ramsey, Campbell, Walcott and Chambo contesting for a single position. I honestly doubt if Ounas is as good as any of these, but lets leave that aside. Did you notice that Mahrez was anonymous against Chelshit? Either he is losing focus, drive or he is another flash... |

And Guardiola is turning out to be a pretty shitty coach...
All I've been saying... some managers are just lucky to be in possession of some players... e.g Messi, Xavi, Iniesta, Lahm, Alaba, Nueur... Honestly, I have been saying it that these over hyped managers are just lucky with financial resources and extravagant owners to achieve success. Just as Mou going for Pogba, I think Pep is unfortunate, there aren't many available top players in the market today. No luxury of a one club dominated league, or a Messi-Neymar-Suarez trio to hope on as do Enrique. The best managers are Wenger, Klopp and Pochentino. |

patrickmuf: Team blending yes but individual quality speaks a lot...Zlatan is a lot like CR7, his ego won't let him fail. Looking at Arsenal, I'd still point to the striking situation at the emirates stadium as a point of concern, Giroud can win you a cup competition that features just about 7 matches but in a league competition, your guess is as good as mine, he can't. We have scorers all over the pitch. We score as much goals as any other top team. A top striker signing would simp!y swing the title to our unquestionable favor. You should be scared. |

MrDojo: you nailed it, walcot and the Ox lack consistency, and its as if they are competing with each other to who can be the most inconsistent.
iwobi is a poacher not the kinda striker we need now,
as if walcot had a football brain, the guy has every thing to be a terrorist of a striker, banging in goals left right and centre but unfortunately he does not.
xhaka is a boss, the boy will dominate the EPL this season, i remember when he played against JUVE and silenced their midfield. watch out for him.
hmmm cazorla is getting slow and old but the boy is still good tho....
if wenger has a conscience iwobi should play a lot this season the boy can ball, as in ball I'll love to see Sanchez on the right and leave the left wing for Iwobi. Iwobi could be the best thing to have come out from Arsenal feeders. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Spy360(m): 8:54pm On Aug 07, 2016 |
patrickmuf: Arsenal won't win it... City with Sane and their Cb's will bbe up there, Man Utd with Pogba joining the fray should also have a shout... Leicester city are still gonna cause surprises, they've made the best use of the transfer market thus far... Tottenham will be very dangerous also, they've made some good signings Your reasons are only based on signings, but that's wrong. You overlook team blending, which is Arsenal's biggest advantage. Zlatan will fade away when the tempo heats up. Sane is not yet a finished article. Pogba yes, but he'll be needing 10 others to also be at their peak. Point is the league is as wide open as the ocean. Whoever wins it must be consistent against small teams as well as being able to make things count in the big games. and there will be many big games this season... Apart from the traditional four, the likes of Tottenham, West Ham, Leicester, Everton, Liverpool will pose huge challenges. It is in matches against these that the league would be decided. |

MrDojo: too bad for Gabriel but now wenger must buy a good defender or risk starting chambers n holding against liverpool
arsenal played really well today, iwobi will have a killer season, walcott was good both on and off the ball today, maybe he will try this season, eleny is a baller, i expect big things from that guy this season.
the way i see this team when everyone is fit, there wont be space for cazola
cech,
bellerin, kos, chamers/holding/per/gaberiel,nacho
xhaka and ramsey
iwobi, ozil , sanchez
walcott/giroud/ greizeman ( ) Elneny vs Xhaka Ramsey vs Cazorla Walcot vs Chambo Sanchez vs Iwobi Giroud vs Akpom I am loving this. Wenger sign Mustafi sharperly before thunder do you something. |

Diademk07: That's why I pointed out striker instinct. Look at Chicharito for example, his techniques isn't the best but his instinct inside the box is one of the best. Similar to Aubameyang.
Walcott finishing is quite shite though. Look at the no of chances he managed to screw up in the pre-season. His off the ball movement looks good but his finishing is terrible. You don't compare Walcott with Chicharito. That's harsh. I point is, for a winger his finishing cannot be terrible. Besides, he is still shiit though. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Spy360(m): 4:25pm On Aug 07, 2016 |
Pataki: The only advantage Welbeck has over Giroud is speed. Welbeck if he can manage to be in form, is actually a combination of Walcott and Giroud.
We desperately need a striker. We tried getting Vardy, he refused coming. We submitted a bid for Lacasera, his club rejected our offer. That is why when I said here, Arsenal did not make a bid for Mahrez, someone even called me a liar.
Would we get a striker before the end of the transfer window, I honestly cannot say. Welbeck has always been unlucky with injuries since he joined us. I feel with more game time and shooting practice he may do better. On transfers, Wenger really needs to wake up to the reality of the present time. Juve signed 29yr old Higuain for £75million. Top strikers won't come cheap. He should splash the cash or just shut up really. |

Diademk07: The only way you could make the likes of Walcott, Campbell, Iwobi useful is by converting them into strikers. With their pace, they would do wonders but do they have the instinct or the finishing of a striker? Walcott for example is woeful in front of goal.
The reality is none of them are good enough for the wing. Their techniques, dribbling and decision making are just too average for the wing roles. Walcott's finishing is better than most striker's. His biggest challenge is his lack of stamina. Those players you mentioned may find it difficult playing against tight defences. |

SIRcumalot: why is welbeck not in serious contention for the striking position ? he is strong than walcott and faster than Giroud. He is currently injured. He is strong and fast but Giroud has a better positioning and obviously better finishing. |
