Lets talk only FTA. One love.

Can pot call kettle black?

Those of us attacking skaymini are all commiting the same wrong, derailing the thread. Simple.

This thread is for football announcement, but we have all turned it into pay tv, dongle, adverts, PVu, etc thread.

Most times when I come here I get confused which thread or discussion is going on, no wonder most gurus have left especially Olenyi.

I blame the moderators, they permit it, so who am I?

I suggest they become more ruthless in dealing with derailers. First warn them, if they continue ban them. Simple.

Btw he's d top scorer at d championship at d moment
Hahaha, downgrading.

Why would a 19year old rookie that scored 11goals in Ligue and cost £36m be better than Austin with EPL experience that cost just £15m?

Guy forget, put a player like Walcott in Aston Villa he will give you 25goals, that's because he will be their only outlet for goals.

In a big club that has options other than the striker its different, sometimes even the striker job would be to create spaces for someone else to score. Benzema does that for Ronaldo, Giroud does that too.

Please what is the Job of a striker? Would you take Giroud over Dzeko? Put Giroud in that Qpr team and see if he is gonna score up to Austin.
Simple question

If Austin is as good as you claim, why is he still at QPR, a championship side?

NB: Man U need a striker, he is just £15m. He scored more goals last season than Rooney.

debosky:
On that basis I'm sure you'll claim Charlie Austin sef is better than Giroud eh? cheesy

Not to worry, they'll play with comparable midfields this season and we'll measure output.

Let me just say this - Giroud's greatest attribute is not his goalscoring. It is the way he enables other players to get more involved in the game that makes him so important to the side.
Thank God for you. At least I have somebody who reasons with me.

Mr Keky is just being critical. I understand his dissatisfaction anyway. Familiar feelings.

During The Summer of Last Season

They wanted us to sign Ballotelli, Arsene instead signed Alexis, now who is better off?

They wanted us to sign Falcao on deadline day, instead Arsene signed Welbeck. What happened? Falcao became a flop...

... Ok Welbeck flopped too, but Falcao flopped more. cheesycheesy

Dzeko is not on the same level with Giroud, He is better.
If AW had signed Dzeko you would be the first to complain.

He was sent out on loan by City to rebuild his career before he rots on the bench.

My friend, Dzeko is not better than Giroud, they are fellow mediocres.

If he's looking for striker that can keep giroud on bench den he's a big clown.... If u say so den lukaku, banteke, Charlie Austin, nd Kane can all keep giroud on bench because considering there stats day have more goals Dan him
No, I am not making any excuses for him. Infact I was criticising him, only that I do it objectively.

First I mentioned that he could have signed a striker to increase the number we have, but then the drawback would be filling spaces with players of the same level as what we have.

Mind you, those players you mentioned cannot bench Giroud. Last summer you thought Welbeck would but he didn't, again you said Walcott, but he also couldn't.

Giroud was Ligue 1 top scorer when we signed him from Montpellier after they won the league. If it were today, you would have called AW stupid for not signing him.

Giroud is not a top striker, but he gives a performance. It takes a really good striker to bench him.

raumdeuter:
If you are looking for an out and out striker, were you struck by Night blindness when Dzeko, Jackson Martinez and Mandzukic were being transferred?
Those ones are on the same level with Giroud. They would increase our striking options but they would also increase the number of mediocres in our team.

We were after strikers who are capable of keeping Giroud on the bench. The likes of Benzema, Lewandoski, Cavani etc. Obviously they are in big clubs and their owners would not want to sell due to lack of replacements.

Meanwhile, Arsenal fans planned a huge protest yesterday...

...No one turned up.

At the beginning of the season, it was widely recognized that we needed to address 3 areas in other to be true title contenders. Wenger addressed only one of it and left the other 2. Giroud is our only TRUE out and out striker and we all know he's average.
For us to win the league, it'll take a big screwup by city and chelsea to stay this useless all season which is frankly almost impossible.
4 games and we're already 5 points behind. Out of those 4 matches, only Liverpool should've been a test for us (maybe palace.)
Every football dummy knew Arsenal needed new signings in those positions. Wenger's inability to do so for me shows arrogance and a false sense of confidence.

His excuse is that the right quality aren't available, and I think he is right in a way looking at the whole picture- Man Utd spending £120m and yet still look hungry, only City did a good job in spending £150m which is quite huge. There were just not enough quality.

In another way he is wrong, Wenger had the option of Schniederlin for £25m, same with Bacca or Martinez but turned them down choosing to keep faith with Coquelin and Giroud respectively.

Even though those for me will not guarantee any significant improvement in the team, they would have given us more options.

On the final analysis, Wenger's choice of keeping faith with his players can only be justified (or otherwise) at the end of the season. Only let him be willing to step down if he fails.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Spy360(m): 6:25pm On Sep 02, 2015
Good thoughts @edi287 and @Debosky.

You guys are saying the correct things only that the perspectives are different. While edi exudes the feelings of disgruntled fans, Debosky brings in the optimistic aspect that explains why whether it rains or shines we are still Arsenal and will support the club.

That said, on paper Arsenal shouldn't win the league, Man City should because having spent more than anyone else, they have the best squad. But as we all know, in football; 1+1 is not always 2. That explains why Crystal Palace beat Chelsea at Stamford bridge last weekend, and Swansea who only got a freebie beat Man Utd who spent £120m.

So then does Arsenal have a team that can win the title? No!

It is possible that Arsenal can win the title? Yes!

It has truly dawned on me that Wenger is not a serious manager and has no intention of even winning the league.
So this mugu wants us to believe there wasn't any upgrades on Giroud and Coq that was available throughout this window? This mugu HONESTLY believes he can win the league with Giroud, Welbeck and Walcott?? Shows you how arrogant he really is to think that a team which finished 12 points behind chelsea last season is good enough to win the league against IMPROVED opposition.
Wenger is arrogant and should put his job on the line if he fails to win the league this season. If he couldn't find a top striker then he should compete with what he has got.

That said I think we should give him the benefit of the doubt and see how he 'does his magic'.

See as AW make Patakisports jobless. Hehehehe.

I take solace from the fact that the year we went invincible, Arsene signed just one player, a goal keeper- Lehmann.

Is history repeating itself? Dunno, the drawback is that this present squad has absolutely no resemblance with invincibles.

If Arsene hits off the Cavani and Rabiot deals, it would be a coup.

Rabiot as backup for Le Coq, Cavani thrown into the first team as our main striker with Giroud as understudy, we will win the league.

LvG warned of panic buying, now he is.

Anthony Martial
1goal in 5games is poor for a MU player, but at 19 he still has time to improve. He has got speed and creativity.

Is he better than Januzaj? NO!
I don't even see him displacing any of the front guys.

So paying £36m is extravagant. But who cares if you've got the money.
