From my experience of following Arsenal Transfers over the years, I have a feeling AW will sign new players to challenge for the title. When we signed Ozil nobody knew until the deal was revealed 2 days to deadline, same with Welbeck who signed on DLD last summer. It may or may not be Benzema but he will sign I'm sure a DM and a CF. |
Don't blame Terry, Nihilist explained it all; the entire defensive play was shiit. Mou got his tactics wrong and only used Terry as his latest scape goat. He even called the result fake, such a bad loser. He would be sacked at christmas |
pickabeau1:To my own opinion, the only top striker in that list is Lewandosky, he was a free last season after leaving Dortmund but he had just one destination- Bayern. JMartinez and MMandzukic are not the top top quality Arsenal needs that can keep Giroud on the bench. What about all the talk about Lacazette? Arsenal fans have kept mute about him since we played against him at the Emirates cup. Forget all the hype, we know the top ones- Suarez, Aguero, Lewandosky, Ibra, Benzema, Tevez, may be Higuain, Costa, Cavani etc. Ronaldo, Messi, Neymar, Muller, Sanchez, Bale, Reus etc are not pure CF but can score a lot of goals. |
My candid opinion. Chelsea lost because they are stereotyped. The team is structure to just defend and hope on counter. But the players weren't fit enough, so after conceding the first goal, it was a mountain to get past Man City without being decapitated. But that was exactly what happened, Mourinho needs to buy to keep up, on a good day he would have done so; but Abram is not willing to dough out any cash. I have said it before and was attacked, Mou needs to sell to buy. His problem now is who to sell and who can buy such, again even if you sell who do you buy because there aren't much quality available in the market. So what next? This is the season where Mou managerial acumen will get the real test, buying titles and depending on stars won't work again, he now has to fashion out way to win just as every other manager he has insulted. I feel he has the materials, Chelsea players were the best in the top 3 leagues in England, so why can't he use them instead of selling and loaning? Talking of Shurrle, De Bruyne, Kakuta, Solanke, Bamford, Chalobah, van Ginkel, Ake etc etc. O I forgot Mou does not groom too, you are either groomed or boomed out. |
pickabeau1:Even Giroud knows we deserve someone better. Don't get me wrong, Giroud is a good CF but not up to the class we need. When we were aiming for top four position, Giroud was Ok- he can get us 15goals a season. But now that the title is our aim we need someone who can guarantee at least 25goals just as Henry and RvP did for us. It was RvP that gave Man Utd the title 3 years ago. I strongly believe that Arsene is aiming to get us a top striker, his major problem is the availability. The best striker available for sale this season was Benteke, at £32million it is a risk not worth taking. As far as I am concerned Giroud is better. Getting a top player from a top club is not easy, you have to get the acceptance by both player and selling club. The club should want to sell and the player should want to move- look at De Gea case for example. Some people talk about money but let me tell you, when it comes to the big boys, it's not just about money- they know they can get it even in UAE league, most times it's about prestige. For example, if you are Benzema will you leave Madrid for Arsenal? That is a demotion lets be truthful. |
pickabeau1: Even my little one said no. |
Pataki:When you are not sure of your defence, you need someone who can do the covers. Ox is a better winger by far, but he was suspect against WH. So until we shore up our defence abeg leave Ramsey. |
If you are here you miss road. Enter keke now begin go Shekpe thread, order any song and drink. It's parry time. No worry na Mourinho go pay. |
I don't do alcohol neither drugs, but if Pataki give me shekpe and Dopejimi give me shayo walai I go take because this party go hot |
pazienza:When you look at Aguero, you wonder what effect a top striker can bring to a team. It's Chelsea's turn to attack now, let's see how they do it against the best attacking team of the league. Can't wait to parry. |
Keky:You sabi watch ball my guy. pazienza:I am grateful. CP is a strong attacking team with speedy wingers and a capable DM in Cabaye, the 3pts is what's crucial. I doubt if all of the top 5 teams will pick all 3pts away to Palace like we did. Time will tell. |
Ok Giroud scores and everyone keeps mute. Ok na. |
airmark:Everyone has one area or the other you can have a dig at, but sometimes it is wiser to just shut up. Mourinho always want to have a dig at someone, such a trouble maker; it's foolish really. Anyways, Pellegrino (in Mou's voice) predicts... Mourinho will park Chelsea's bus in todays game. Let's see. |
Expect Monaco vs Lille on TV5 monde. |
RuuDie:Correction please, Rijkaard was no fledgling in '95. Continue... |
bigkesh:Who be 'we' or are you now an Arsenal fan? And... Be careful what you wish for. Hope you guys get trashed on Sunday, I would take a day off on Monday,.. |
edi287:I agree. We threw caution to the wind against WH like we did vs Monaco last season. But like we always do, expect a decent run as the team will become more cautious. |
chrisley024:Hahahaa. If they lose again, my next prediction will be that they would be the third team that will escape relegation. |
TheNonce:Yes, it was based on popularity and history. I was looking at the quality of individual players, players one would look up to for his club. Matic is a good player but doesn't change games. We all know Giroud so no comment. Coquelin is a fledgling and together with the likes of Schneiderlin, Herrera et al fall in the Matic category. Notice that I put in Schweinteiger, even if he has lost it as some may claim, he is Germany's captain for goodness sake. My opinion though |
pickabeau1:So true. My own predictions where based solely on the quality of players each side possesses. I think Chelsea has a strong first team but a much weaker bench. Same as City. United to me is confused because they want to buy stars which aren't available so end up with mediocres or those who have been rejected by their previous clubs. They would do better by sticking with building a team rather than buying 'stars'. Arsenal has the most balanced squad but lack quality in some key areas- your guess is as good as mine. |
bigkesh:Those are two giant deflected tyres specially built and developed for scientific BuS PaRKiNg. Hehehe ![]() |
airmark:I have to admit that you are right. But it is still a risk, since he isn't proven. Nevertheless, if the manager wants him, who am I? |
pickabeau1:It is a bold move putting United ahead of City even if they sign Pedro. Arsenal second with a striker called Giroud. Well. ![]() |
airmark:You don begin dey over hype the boy. But come to think of it, would Mourinho and Chelsea of about 3 season's ago have considered him- a left back at obscure Augsbug as a first team signing? No! So stop the hype. Yawa dey gaz for Chelsea. |
I am changing my top 4 predictions; the ranks and the players that make them tick... Chelsea- Courtois, Terry, Ivanovic, Fabregas, Willian, Hazard, Oscar, Costa Man City- Kompany, Toure, Silva, Nasri, Sterling, Aguero, (if they sign De Bruyne) Arsenal- Cech, Ramsey, Ozil, Chamberlain, Cazorla, Sanchez Man United- De Gea(if he doesn't leave), Schweinteiger, Mata, Depay, Rooney Any objections? |

I am predicting a nil-nil score at the Etihad on Sunday. I know Mou enough that he will be pragmatic in his approach, knowing that his team isn't fit enough to face City attacking combo of Sterling, Silva, Yaya Toure, Nasri and Aguero... He will simply deflect the tyres of an already parked bus. True/False. |
Freddygaz:Ok, thanks. Earlier in the thread someone talked of ORTM and TM2 showing EPL, I want to know if they did last weekend. Especially early kick off. |
Spy360:Our gurus should be able to handle this na. Don't fall my hand. |
MaziOmenuko:Hahahahahahaa! Now I know why Chelsea had an injury free season- no one wants to stay back at the clinic when he can receive 'treatment' from Eva right on the pitch. Hehehee. ![]() |
ElFenomeno1:If the dog is your neighbour's then it isn't cute. |
