From my own understanding, Mourinho has never being sacked. He either resigns(porto,inter,chelsea) or there is a mutual termination of contract (real madrid)

The two names you mention to buttress your point (Wenger and Ferguson) have spent more than 10 years in their respective clubs.
Why then won't he be remembered.

Mourinho has never spent up to 4 years in a particular club. But still he will remembered for the trophies he brought to them.
