- Access control around the immediate area
- Prohibit smoking and naked flames
- Prohibit the use of mobile phones and portable electrical equipments until operation is completed.
- Ensure that the vehicles /discharge hoses are properly grounded to dissipate static charges.
- Use conductive hoses for the operation.
Control flow rates and fill Heights.... Higher flow rates increase the build up of static electricity.
- Use pumps that are fitted with spark arrestor and ensure they are positioned upwind and at reasonable distance (15m) from the discharge point.
- Continually monitor the environmental conditions for signs of lightning... High humidity is preferable
- Properly position fire fighting equipments such as extinguishers...

The fact that I made mention of soldiers running under boko haram attack seems to have made some people resort to insults and name calling.
I cannot under any circumstance trade insults with anyone. That attitude is not for everyone.

I'm sure those screaming and insulting to cover up the fact that some soldiers ran yesterday may not have read reports of soldiers who were court martialed in 2014 for running from battle or refusing deployment to engage terrorists.

Instead of covering up such acts, it's best for these things to be investigated and recommendations made to bring back the glory of our military.

Some months ago, Siriusblack, a soldier in NA used his thread to show us what was going on in the NA and the challenges faced by troops. It didn't take long for authorities to clamp down on his actions.

I'm A Nigerian. This is my country. I have friends in the military. I cannot say the things they have told me. But I pray we wake up and realize we need to start getting things right. Pretending that all is well cannot and has not solved our problems. Attempting to silence those who expose our problems will only enhance the rot.

This is my opinion.

Fighter jets are said to have been deployed in Gombe state against the terrorists.

For those screaming about soldiers running, I've seen soldiers make brave stand against enemies, and I've seen soldiers flee and pull their uniforms during militants attack in Niger delta few years ago.

I just spoke with my friend again. He is a nairalander. I could hear sounds of gunshots in the background.
He reports that soldiers are on the run. Chaos everywhere

I just got a call from a friend in Gombe state about terrorists attacking Gombe state right now. He said civilians are on the run, as well as security operatives.
I've been calling his number to hear more details but he's not picking up.

Gombe, the capital of Gombe state, is under attack by Boko Haram terrorists.
The insurgents, according to witnesses from Gombe, are currently being repelled by soldiers some three kilometres away from the town.
A source from Gombe, Mallam Hassan, told PREMIUM TIMES on phone that “we’ve all rushed back to our homes now. our town is under attack; we heard that Boko Haram terrorists, in their hundreds, are trying to invade the town”.
“Everywhere is quiet now, but the sounds of shooting and explosion is deafening. We hear the soldiers are battling to stop them”.
Another resident of the town said the sect members are engaged in exchange of fire with a combined team of Nigerian military and mobile police force in Linji village, on the outskirts of Gombe.
A resident, Ahmed Hamza, told PREMIUM TIMES that some young men from Dadin Kowa town earlier informed him that the sect members ‎are attacking their town.
“We can hear sounds of gunshots from a distance and everybody has gone indoors now,” he said.
Another source who declined to be named for security reasons also said the insurgents headed towards the Army Barracks along Dadin Kowa road when the Nigerian Army troop engaged them while a detachment of mobile police officers provided back up.
The spokesperson of the Police in the state, Fwaje Atajiri, could not be reached for comments at time of this report.
The Boko Haram terrorist group has repeatedly attacked the town bombing bus stations and other locations.
Saturday’s attack is coming less than two weeks after a suicide bomber struck in the city shortly after President Goodluck Jonathan campaigned.
Mr. Jonathan was in Gombe for a rally that February 2, when a female suicide bomber struck shortly after the campaign train departed.
The female suicide bomber and a passerby died in the attack, while six persons were injured, the police said at the time.

Many politicians who claim to be Christians are not. Just because a Nigerian is not a Muslim, doesn't automatically make him a Christian. Not all church goers are disciples of Christ (Christians). Some of these politicians who are called Christians, are actually members of ogboni confraternity and idol worshipers.

Obasanjo was called a Christian, but he sent soldiers to destroy communities in the Niger delta (a supposed Christian area).
Yaradua was a Muslim who brought peace via amnesty to the Niger delta.

Judge for yourself which of these two men brought peace and prosperity to the southern Christians?

Do you think Pastor Enoch Adeboye will be willing to give his daughters hand in marriage to an unbeliever pagan, how much more to a Muslim?

Like you know, hazards vary with the type of industry and the OPs. Having said this,
1. For a Tobacco and allied companies like some brewing coys: Excessive inhalation of the raw raw materials can cause drowsiness, workers could become disoriented and find it difficult to either be effective in driving or adhere strictly to safety rules by keeping off the paths of moving vehicles particularly forklift.
2. Prolonged working hours will also make workers susceptible to vehicular accidents
3. Excessive movements also increase the risk of exposure to vehicular accidents
4. Loading and Offloading of vehicles, if done without proper adherence to safety procedures could expose workers to vehicular accidents.
The list is endless... It is generally a function of studying the activities and identifying the various hazards that may be associated with them.

I guess, the above options can be easily controlled... For example.. For workers working with intoxicating substances, exposure to such could be limited, first by providing effective PPEs and second by introducing a shift plan.
The shift plan would also work for number 2. For 3. Movements should be done only when necessary and more than one person should convey raw materials or products as the case may be. A safety officer could monitor loading and offloading activities to ensure compliance to sound safety practices.

Your main job is to carefully inspect activities, identify hazards, assess risks and proffer solutions.

Nice try... But remember the question 1 says mention ways a person could be injured, not causes of accidents. So we need to mention types of vehicle accidents that could cause injury.

Question 2 is about proffering solutions in order to prevent and reduce transport related accidents at work.
