PoliticsRe: Sacked Plateau PDP Lawmakers Return To Court, Seek Reinstatement by StainlessCup: 11:29am On Feb 09, 2024
seunmsg:
The final court has ruled and so shall it remain. The decision of the highest court case not be reversed. Again, the case is time bound and the timeframe has expired.
I think their case is now statute barred but then these laws are flawed because these courts keep entertaining preelection matters when they should not. My worry is that the APC lawmakers that benefited from that judgment may not be sworn in till their tenure elapses because the speaker of the Assembly cites the supreme court judgement as the basis not to swear them in.

I'm posting this as a response to the topic that made Nairaland front page yesterday; "See What Someone Bought With An Hour Minimum Wage In The UK £10", the link: https://www.nairaland.com/7929193/see-what-someone-bought-hour

UK & US ARE OVER-RATED NIGERIA IS STILL BETTER in terms of cost of living see a practical example why doing a price comparison: 1 pound to 1 naira today is N1,001 so are you saying with £10 x N1,001 = N10,001 you cannot buy everything in that basket and collect change in Nigeria today?

1 Sliced Bread = N800
2 Spaghetti = N1400
1 Gesha = N600
1 live chicken = N3,000
1 75cl soya Oil = N1,400
1 Midium size Butter = N600
2 Gino Tomato paste = N1,000

Total = N8,800 so your change is N1,200 that's if you exchange pound to naira at offical rate and buying at the most expensive stores or high brands. If you exchange at black market rate and buy at public market "days" you will collect as much as N6,000 after buying everything in that basket....that's about £6 left.

LET'S JUST THANK GOD FOR WHAT WE HAVE AND STOP LOOKING AT AND GLORIFYING ANOTHER MAN'S LAND MORE THAN OUR OWN....OUR OWN NA OUR OWN O grin
I'm certain you lack critical thinking skill.
How can you convert pounds to naira to comparison. The right number should be What's an hour minimum wage in Nigeria.
In UK, an hour minimum wage is 10 pounds but a months minimum wage in Nigeria is 30,000 naira. Convert 10 pounds to naira at the rate of 1450, that's 14500 naira, half of your months minimum wage here. Its way too expensive for Nigerians to live in their own country.

I expect NJC to react very very soon or immediately to avoid any confusion because that his 'Acting Chief Judge' may not be accepted by NJC. If that man accepts that appointment from Gov Jackson Adeleke, he may even land in trouble with NJC. Check my signature for free stuffs!

smh.

Mr Obi was not a member of LP as at the deadline time LP submitted its membership register to INEC. No court waved aside that fact for Obi as it's now clearly shown that what Obi did was an infraction on the Electoral law. Not even the court judgement Obidatti is using to confuse you waved it aside for Mr Obi or recognised him as a candidate beyond his name featuring on a list of candidates INEC published! Read the judgement of the AC that Mr Obi is clawing on as a straw :

The Appeal Court waved aside the argument by both Obi and the LP that the suit was statute barred.

The appellate court noted that whereas Obi resigned from the PDP on May 24, 2022, INEC published his name as candidate of the LP on September 20, 2022.

It further observed that following the publication of Obi’s name, the APM, being a registered political party that also has a candidate for the presidential election, filed its suit on September 30, 2022.

The court held that since the suit was filed exactly 11 days after Obi’s name was published by INEC, it was not caught by the 14 days limitation stipulated in Section 285 (9) of the 1999 Constitution, as amended, and therefore not statute barred.

However, it held that Sections 29 (5), 84(14) and 142 of the Electoral Act, as well as Section 285(14) of the Constitution, clearly defined a person that could lodge a pre-election case to disqualify a candidate in an election.

The appellate court stressed that under section 157 of the Electoral Act, only an aspirant could challenge the nomination of a candidate to INEC.

It held that APM did not qualify as an aspirant, adding that the duty of INEC was to publish names submitted to it by political parties.

The court held that by INEC publishing Obi’s name, “it has done no more than comply with provisions of the Electoral Act”.

More so, the appellate court held that though the APM alleged that Obi’s name was not on the register the LP submitted to INEC, it failed to tender the said register in evidence.

Now, every candidate and LP aspirant challenging LP mandate 'place holder' in court is presenting the LP register in every court. Even the few seats LP got from the illegality will be lost. PDP and APC will gain more seats following this judgement.

LP register is now hot cake. Trust Mr Arabambi and co who are the real owners of LP to by now be mass producing it for anyone who needs it to prove their case in court and claim back the mandate illegally obtained by LP impostors a.k.a Mandate Thieves
Mr Obi ti lule pi sir. Check my signature for free stuffs!

The tribunal in a judgement on Monday, held that Okolie was not duly sponsored by the Labour Party as he was not a member of the party as at May 28, 2022 when the primary purportedly held.

Same ruling awaits Mr Obi.

These few days ahead of the PEPT judgement, the way and manner the back to back court judgements have been peeling away the LP illegalities and landing heavily to crush and destroy the evil unpatriotic house built with saliva from the lying tongues in LP and its mob is a forerunner of what awaits the lies-laden low budget petition of Mr Obi at the PEPT. Arabambi and Pa Apapa are vindicated. Even that our Igbo brother ,Chinedu of LP in Lagos, will receive his own reality check soon too.O ti zeh!

By now,INEC, APC, PDP and the Pa-Apapa faction should start demanding for damages from LP and their impostor candidates or press for their committal to prison for perjury, impersonation and electoral crimes. Check my signature for free stuffs!
I thought you are learned. The Appeal will throw away the ruling of the tribunal. I'm surprised that the judges in the tribunal don't follow judicial precedent.

The supreme court has ruled on similar case like this.

PoliticsRe: PEPT: Why Did Wole Olanipekun Ignore Osun Ruling To Quote Shagari Ruling Of 1979 by StainlessCup: 10:51pm On Jul 16, 2023
chatinent:
It’s actually a smart move. Wole is not a charge and bail lawyer! He actually allows you to make his win very easy!

Let's think it. When he does use outdated case laws, he’ll be reminded, maybe by the other counsel that the 1979 constitution was already amended and he should introduce recent cases similar...just like you are asking. To the other counsel, he made a point. Which other recent case would all fingers point to? It is the Adeleke vs Oyetola to be used as precedent!

Now here is where the politics take place… and what you don't know. Actually, the Adeleke vs Oyetola was created for this case. So Wole let you decide for them to use it. And since you gave them the option, they introduce it as tho standing on the recent protocol you suggested.

Guess what? Since you want to feel more recent with cases, the case will be closed and they will win. If you suggested a recent case, and that case is introduced, you WILL lose the case! You just gave them their evidence!

Why did you think the APC let Adeleke win the case based on INEC glitches?

Oh you felt it was a just judgement? And that the APC will just let go sth as big as the governorship? A sitting party? Lol.

It’s so that it will serves as a premise to dismiss the future plan…. this case.

It's was an organised case law.

Let's check:

The APC-led administration has been subject to criticism due to the economic challenges experienced during their tenures. True.

However, it is noteworthy that they have demonstrated adeptness in engaging in strategic political maneuvers, leveraging their party networks, and creating an illusion of popular participation in decision-making processes. Meanwhile, it is all a mirage in achieving the goal!

Even the Naira design was a plan to make other parties feel there was disunity within the party and they loss guard and failed to plan.

Obi too was banking on popular participation and pity politics. He should have added some backup dark politics too. Oh don't criticize me, politics was always darker.

Check the APC's darker politics. Call it politics 101.

During the past electoral process, a strategy is employed wherein a divisive narrative is constructed, leading to the formation of factions and subsequent tribal conflict....the Igbo-Yoruba tribal war, the Wike-pdp war, and the Kwankwaso assisting to reduce the northern votes.

During the period of tribal conflict between the Yorubas and Igbos, the candidate affiliated with the LP experienced an unexpected defeat in a situation where they were initially considered to have a significant likelihood of emerging victorious.

Check!

Consider the reasons behind the cessation of the overheated tribal conflict subsequent to the victory! The Yorubas were convinced by the APC...the sitting government... that an individual (Lagos indigene) was of mixed heritage and was not considered a genuine Yoruba and instead was associated with the Igbo agenda. I mean, like how did you guys believe that unintelligible tact! So poor!

A significant number of individuals were deceived or say convinced that truly it was Igbos trying to take Lagos...so they fought back, resulting in the government reverting back to its previous state. Lol. The game was the focal point for the APC and they got it.

During elections, we are not Nigerians, we name our states first!

Let's continue...

The LP also was winning the presidential election. They employed the use of commotion in the LP strongholds, and when they saw it wasn't really working cos they were winning Lagos, Aduja, Jos etc, their plan-B was the last hope... EyeNeck !

It was also necessary to adjust the LP's score to the third position to have a better legal case in case.

They banked on the corrupt system. Why? "NOTHING WILL HAPPEN.". That's Nigeria for you! Nothing always not happen to the rich in Nigeria!

Also, don't you forget that the British never stopped colonising Nigeria. They only relocated to their country. It's cost-effective and easier to control pawns from a distance! Like no one will know it's neo-colonialism!

And guess what? The British always supports their pawns!

You see? Democracy isn't never of the people and by the people or for the people. It is actually what the govt wants and the people sees from far. In reality, the majority decisions do not always count!

The reason is simple:
1. The election was conducted and collated MANNAULY.
2. The collation and announcement of results were done MANUALLY.
3. What was used to announced those results NATIONWIDE were PHYSICAL RECORDS MANUUALY handed over to each party agents across PUs.
4. If you have problem with blurred result on iREV, that's your wahala, take the physical one from which anything or EVERYTHING on iREV was scanned & posted, that's the PRIMARY SOURCE, not iREV.

5. If you tell me you have blurred result online, sebi I will ask you to show me the original one given to your Party physically from which the collation and announcements were made, did anyone announce result waiting for iREV when the PRIMARY SOURCE was physically used?
