I will like to know the level of blood i have in me i.e the blood level of my body but can't seem to get an satisfying guide in the web, not even an article talking about it. I want to hear from those who are knowledgable in the house, if blood level is measureable? if yes, how can i measure mine? |
So in summary, DMZ port should house whatever is of interest to those from the WAN side. |
FTCers aren't welcomed here. Pls take note |
I was wondering what the difference between a DMZ and a WAN port. Little research i have made says DMZ is for some form of Local Sever within a network that needs to be treated, to an extent, as a remotely hosted server, but i can't seem to pin point those features that makes makes a DMZ port unique from WAN ports. I need Gurus who can point out why a WAN port can't replace a DMZ port. Thanks. |
Rip. Why must it be far away in New York? |
Of course we all know there is something wrong with that purchase, but Gej is bound not to see any wrongdoing as he prepares for 2015 at the expense of Nigerians. What about the near-zero efficient NDDC and many others under his watchful eyes? It is 2015 and nothing more. |
oyb: Fraudulent topic reportedDid u notice the army of Gej loyalist who couldn't notice what you just pointed out? |
Always a good idea! Why go abroad to pay 50% more when local option can be put in place. For thore complaining about the "set to" thing, don't forget that every meaningful project has a "set to" news attached to it. The fact that someone somewhere is commisioning power plants with no gas to fire or airports that record crashes isn't the best thing to happen to Nigerians. |
Where are these mw going to? With the level of Phcn inspired darkness in the country, are these plants working at full capacity at all? By the way, why is Gej focusing on commisioning more power plant when the ones available aren't getting enough gas? |
If same thing had happened to an artisan, say a truck driver or a tailor, the man would have to worry about his tool and materials only, but not his whole career/investment. Moral of the story for those who think life starts and end with trading is, never a mock a decent business, no matter how simple and small it is. For the man to attempt suicide suggests that he has no form of insurance covering those goods. |
Goodluck Jonathan please act fast. ma je ki Goodlucki re jo ina tan. |
jazzydee: celebration of mediocrity and fraud.I knew guys like u would show up immediately i saw the thread. FYI, Power plants similar to that of your FG is known to cost N96 Million megawatt capacity. Whereas Fashola has help eliminate 30mw of innefeicient (some petrol, some diesl and some China make) gen to give a centralized 10mw that they can all draw from, the FG is busy focussing on how to sheild performing governos from running for presidency come 2015. The largest room is the room for improvement, some people need to check the crab mentality and stop pulling the performing governors down. They need to start holding their leaders responsible. |

Typical Combined cycle block sizes offered by three major manufacturers (Alstom, General Electric and Siemens) are roughly in the range of 50 MW to 500 MW and costs are about $600/kW.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Combined_cycle At $600/KW we have $600,000/MW and that translates to 600,000 X 160 [naira to dollar exchange rate] to give 96,000,000 A.K.A. N96M. When we consider the fact that the power plants of size 50 - 500 MW benefit from Combined Cycle Technology and most power plant built by the FG fall well with this range, the real fraud becomes clear. The turbines used in Combined Cycle Plants are commonly fueled with natural gas.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Combined_cycle#Fuel_for_combined_cycle_power_plants They include the Ihovbor Power Station, Benin in Edo State, with capacity of 4 x 125mw, Calabar Power Station in Cross River State, with capacity of 5 x 125mw, Egbema Power Station in Imo State, with capacity of 3 x 125mw, Gbarain Power Station in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, with capacity of 2 x 125mw, and Sapele Power Station in Delta State, with the capacity of 4 x 125mw.https://www.nairaland.com/1474680/gov-fashola-spends-n400-million#18749060 |
I have something in mind for creating this thread in the first place. I never knew you lots would turn it to a fighting box for your ethnic agenda Am from Ondo state, Ikare Akoko for that matter. I can conveniently say that my town is as backward and awkward as you can imagine. My town has produce the likes of Sunday Ehindero, former IGP, Joseph Sanusi, former CBN governor, TB Joshua, Gani Adams, etc. But what have we achieve with that ? Nothing
Oga OP go check the year Ekiti was created and check other states created in the same year under similar circumstances. You can't wake up and start comparing Osun to Oyo state, Osun was carved out of Oyo state because old Oyo state was so big and the osun part of it wasn't getting much attention. A successful Ejigbo(now Osun state) person would have considered Ibadan or Ogbomoso (new Oyo state) home and built his country home in those town at the expense of his home town when both states were one. Same logic applies to River and Bayelsa state. |
Good MOVE! Next is international window! I thought i had seen cluelessness when Ogun decided to do a bridge with AC. Jonathan please don't let this country 'jo ina tan' oh |
@Gbawe, what happened to your NL signature on the other thread? Was that you or someone else? |
150m X 160($ exchange rate) should be N24billion. Now i don't think that is heavy for Ogun state to carry, may be Bayelsa state or Nasarawa but not Ogun. @topic, i think it is time we started applauding such projects as it is fast becoming a global approach to problem solving. |
Rad1cal: Bros, I want to believe that your factoring in the gas pipeline construction means you have dropped the weak excuse of economics of scale. You re tryin so hard to difuse the argument of economy of scale because u know it has shattered all the lies you and your kikes av been peddling here. In the first thread, i posted good links where the effect of Economy of scale on gas fired turbine power plant was confirmed so i wonder why you want an obviously right argument dropped. Plus i don't see anywhere in all the articles posted where they say the task of delivering fuel to the plant is included in the deal. |
Rad1cal: Bros, I want to believe that your factoring in the gas pipeline construction means you have dropped the weak excuse of economics of scale. |
Don Magic Juan: I read your comments on the other thread relating the sharp practices by LASG in their latest scam project and I must say I was very impressed with how you handled those ACN baboons. Why not disprove my argument on how scale and size of such power plants can influence cost instead of calling me an id1iot. You are not interested in an educative debate but in an e-fight to muddle things up. |
Gbawe, for the fact that the e-dawgs are focussing on the difference between that of the FG and LASG and not the difference between the Bauchi and FG plant should tell everyone that they have and agenda against Fashola and in favour of the FG. They prefer not to admit how scale and size can drive down the cost of building such plant in order to spite the fashola and Tinubu but forget same anything they claim when comparing Lasg and Fg will work against the FG given the fact that Bauchi Plant is cheaper on cost/mw basis. |
networkgenuis: Sorry man, your assertion above is absolutely flawed and reeks of crass ignorance. There is no way a bus will consume the same amount of fuel with a saloon car in covering a given uniform distance. A machine carrying heavy load requires more effort (fuel) to move from point A to B.Weak Logic. Go read about how base load capacity of an engine influences design & input, and stop defending the indefensible on your road to being to irredeemable. |
jazzydee: According to you, bauchi will spend $201million for 140MW of electricity.the fact that Bauchi state is building a single 140 mw unit with cheaper $/mw value as against the 125 mw can explain the effect of economy of scale further. |
Too many factors buddy and this is why we should not sit here like fraudulent illiterates, including a so-called "medical Doctor", disgracing Nigeria with utterances that would even shame the worst laymen. (1)Equipment supply and installation cost (i.e sourcing component parts from the USA rather than the UK may increase transport cost to site.) (2)Fuel type obviously affecting choice and quantity of equipment required. (3)Cost of getting fuel to the plant i.e distance covered. (4)Economies of scale. (5)Sites costs (direct purchase, compensation, lease plan, etc). (6)provision for waste disposal. (7)Structural and civil cost. (8 ) Indirect costs. Etc, etc, etc, etc. Point being that we should not make uninformed assumption , especially when not power generation experts or Engineers, to then ignorantly and arbitrarily say what is "high" or "acceptable" based on anything other than a solid breakdown of cost. Involving sentiments and simplistic reasoning to infer all IPPs must have a standard cost per MW is one of the the most senseless thing I have ever heard. It is not the sort of argument any educated person should make. Ultimately, the point is that the Lagos and Bauchi IPP both fall within what is accepted today as justifiable per MW cost for power generation. Anyone seeking to claim impropriety should endeavour to do so with more than uniformed, ignorantly pedestrian and sentimental reasoning.
You 've done so much but let me still add one more. Design, yes, it can above all influence cost, for example the LASG plant which is dual fired is like that to create a redundant design that makes it less prone to total power outage, the stage of firing is doubled in two independent units to create a more robust design whereas that of the FG may not be like that because each 125 MW unit can cover up for other units that may be down. The presence of multiple 125mw unit can then save the FG the cost assosiated with double firing of plants on the way to acheiving a redundant and by extension more robust design. |
Below is beautifully fluid demonstration of precisely the negative obsession with Lagos, Fashola and Tinubu that often lead some to lose their head and say absolutely senseless things even the least-knowledgeable layman should not utter. Below is a thread started by the uber-hypocrite Awodman and GEJ/FG sycophant which has only drawn one response so far. Gist of story is that Bauchi is building a 140 MW power plant with $201 million. Oando built a 10.34 power plant with N3.2 billion i.e $20 million. Can all of you who have contributed ignorant and vitriolic rants here, including the OP with his show of 'pro-people' sanctimonious anger, tell us the difference between the two project when cost efficacy is similar given the concept of economies of scale in favour of the bigger Bauchi plant? Why are you not all on the thread below ignorantly insulting Yuguda and his Chinese partner? Let me guess, Yuguda and Bauchi does not get the blood of same racing like Lagos, Fashola and Tinubu. Can you kind kindly show consistency going to the thread below to dish out same treatment to Yuguda (GEJ's/PDP boy) and Bauchi over what will be spent? Or is it that the cost of the Bauchi plant show some of us were right asking you to educate yourselves and shun ignorance led mainly by sentiments and clannish dislike of others? Nonsense. https://www.nairaland.com/1475807/bauchi-build-140mw-power-plant
the one for bauchi for example could benefit from economy of scale because the heat being dissipated could be tapped off to drive a smaller turbine to create some additional 50 mw, whereas that of 10.34 mw by lasg is just not big enough to benefit from such technology that creates the economy of scale effect. |
jmaine: Kindly shed more light on this . . . .Thanks . . .To start with, here is a link that talks about how efficiency of turbine plant can be influenced by factor that aren't the same for the said LASG and FG power plants. ----> http://www.mpoweruk.com/energy_efficiency.htm Another ----> http://www.brighthubengineering.com/power-plants/72369-compare-the-efficiency-of-different-power-plants/ [See Paragragh 3] There are tones of link to butress my initial point but the one argument i like to zero in on is the concept of a combined cycle plant. Combined cycle plant involve smaller turbine engine tapping off unused heat from a , large-enough one which is usually the, primary turbine power plant, to form a cascaded power plant system that comes out overall more efficient. This type of power plant depend on the ''size'' of the primary turbine from which other plants tap off its unused heat. ----> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Combined_cycle [Read the Typical size of CCGT plants sub topic for better understanding, and judge for your self where the LASG and FG Plants fall into] Also a bonus link here ----> http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_is_the_efficiency_of_a_thermal_power_plant |
billante: Apc goons pls compare fashola power plant cost and a power plant cost of a private company! And let God help u have conscience in ur judgment!^^Good point, but still doesn't prove everrthing. Power plants normally have features that influence their efficiency. Some power plants are designed to have a slow start but once it is running, will have a higher effficiency compared to others that can be fired up in few seconds. All turbine plants are not the same. What i am trying to say is Lagos state may be 'more' guilty than OP has claimed and it could as well be the FG who are guilty of building overpriced plants here. most posters so far have not hit the point the that matters here, plus a private establishment dealing with Seimens directly will have no middle man - contractors like OANDO, in this case, to help drive cost up. |
I don't know if the FG e-dawgs around are ready to admit there is something called 'economy of scale'? Well, in the article presented by Mr. OP, he kept realing out the generating capacity of the FG built plants in multiples of 125 MW. I beleive these capacity are the size of each generating units and it will be foolish to start comparing a 12MW to a 125MW unit in terms of cost. There are certain things that must be common to both plant irrespective of size. Also to note is the 'power factor' (effeciency co-efficient in layman's language) of the plants in question, the kind of fuel consumed, cost of running/maintenance, and many other technical factors that may affect cost. |
Same pattern of appointment that resulted in a war is being practised. Some people want us to believe success in their blood. |
While some of his kinsmen are in Lagos and Ogun endorsing Fashola and Amoson APC one Obi thinks it is wise to pronounce that same APC as bad. These guys can stop making me laugh. |
