Ace Nigerian comedian, Alibaba has called out some Nigerian 'big boys' who shut down a recent event with the 'pepper dem' spray.

Sharing the video on his Instagram page, Alibaba stated that people who made their money through legitimate businesses will never 'waste' their money like those Nigerian 'big boys'. He wrote;

Yinka Ayefele, has released an official statement following the demolition of his music house/radio station yesterday in Ibadan, Oyo State.

Yinka Ayefele who alleged that one TOYIN ARULOGUN suggested the demolition, told fans of his radio station to desist from damaging public property out of anger. He wrote;

“I greet the entire Fresh Fm fans both home and abroad.I wish to extend my heartfelt gratitude for this opportunity and experience.As we all know,Fresh Fm is not an Ayefele owned company but a company owned by the general public.I ll like to plead with everyone not to cause any casualty especially on the Ajumose bus packed around Music House.

Recall that we reported yesterday that demolition of Yinka Ayefele’s music house, led to a new spate of controversy about APC on social media as residents of Oyo State and Nigerians in general, have expressed their disappointment over the incident.

Fans of Yinka Ayefele’s music house/radio station, recalled how Governor Abiola Ajimobi was once interviewed by the radio station after he won his second term. While some alleged that this is a deliberate attack on the press, others stated that demolition was politically motivated. The incident also reportedly led to pulling down of APC billboards in the state.

Female Presidential aspirant, Eunice Atuejide has been suspended by the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the National Interest Party (NIP).

The NEC of the National Interest Party suspended its national chairman, Mrs. Eunice Atuejide and the party’s National Secretary, Audu Israel over allegations bordering on forgery, misappropriation of party funds without requisite approval, falsification of documents, criminal breach of trust, conversion and criminal conspiracy, anti-party activities and usurpation of power.

In a communique issued and signed by the party’s National Legal Adviser, Sanni Abass, at an emergency meeting held in Abuja on 12th of August, 2018, the party said;

“After a unanimous decision taken by 2/3 of the National Executive Committee members, the party is alleging, amongst other gross misconducts; forgery, misappropriation of party funds without requisite approval, falsification of documents, criminal breach of trust, conversion and criminal conspiracy, anti-party activities and usurpation of power against the person of the chairman and National Secretary, all these are not in tandem with the spirit of the doctrine of the party.”

“It will also interest the public to know that, Mrs. Eunice Atuejide has been autocratically ruling the party by magnanimously appointed herself as the National Chairman, National Leader, Chief Whip and above all, the party’s Presidential Aspirant without the approval of the party’s NEC.”

“This suspension is in line with the extant provision of the constitution of the party which stipulates that a member of the party may be suspended by the National Executive Committee and the committee may decide what disciplinary measures to place on a member of the party.

“It was resolved at the meeting that Mrs. Atuejide and National Secretary remain suspended pending the conclusion of the on-going investigations by the party’s national executive committee and the Independent National Electoral Commission-INEC.”

Meanwhile, a strong worded petition has been forwarded to the Independent National Electoral Commission. INEC on the suspension notice and also relevant anti-graft agencies for further investigations on the alleged fraudulent practices of the party chieftains.

A Doctor,  Innocent Iwegbu, who was kidnapped while on his way to work on Monday, July 13, has been rescued by Police operatives attached to the World Bank Police Station in Umuahia, the Abia State capital.

Confirming the release of the Kidnapped Doctor, the Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr. Anthony Ogbizi, said Iwegbu was rescued unhurt, adding that no ransom was paid for his release. The Police Boss disclosed that while the kidnap victim has been reunited with his family, the Police has also arrested one of the suspected kidnappers identified as Ogbonna Ikechukwu. He further disclosed that the doctor was released, through information given to the police by some residents of the area, where he was held hostage.

The arrested 28-year-old suspect, who claimed to be working as a labourer at the Timber market in Umuahia, said his friend identified only as Sunday was the person that introduced him to the six-man kidnap gang, adding that their last operation was the first time he was partaking in the crime.

“I moved into Sunday’s apartment because I was finding it difficult to pay my transport fare from my village to Umuahia every day. When I complained to him, he asked me to come over to his house. I travel to my village to see my wife and daughter every weekend.

“After staying with Sunday for some time, he introduced me to some of his friends and told me that there was another business they do and if I was interested, I could join them. That was how I joined the gang" he said.

The suspect who identified other members of his gang as Ogboni, Bad Dog, Moses and another boy also known as Sunday, said it was one elderly man who he could not identify that gave them information that the medical doctor could pay ransom if they could kidnap him.

"One man that we call Papa was the one giving us information about the doctor. The doctor and Papa are neighbours.

“On Monday, Sunday and the others went after the doctor. They kidnapped him and brought him to our house. I didn’t join them to kidnap him, but I was asked to look after him in the house" he said.

Football governing body, FIFA, have announced the 2018 World Cup champions, and the Super Eagles of Nigeria have been rated the 49th best country in the world.

France is the new leader at the top of the latest FIFA rankings, while the previously top-ranked nation Germany, as well as Argentina, dropped out of the top 10.

The top five on the list consists of France, Belgium, Brazil, Croatia and Uruguay.

Nigeria ranks 49th in the world and 7th in Africa, while the top-ranked African team on the list is Tunisia tying the position with Senegal who both are 24th on the world stage.

According to FIFA, the new formula;

“Relies on adding/subtracting points won or lost for a game to/from the previous point totals rather than averaging game points over a given time period as in the previous version of the Ranking.

“The changes, of which there are several, include the fact that inactive teams now preserve their point totals, with no devaluation of older games.

“Points are dropped, however, from losing or drawing against weaker opposition, with the only exception to this rule matches in knockout rounds of major competitions such as the FIFA World Cup.”

Liverpool fans have obviously not forgiven Sergio Ramos for what he did to their star man, Mo Salah in the UEFA Champions League final, as they were ecstatic with what Diego Costa did to him yesterday.

The Reds supporters have hailed Diego Costa a "hero" after Atletico Madrid's Super Cup win over Real Madrid.

32 year old Sergio Ramos, was accused of injuring Mo Salah in the Champions League final back in May, and also giving Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius a concussion in the same fixture.

So when Diego Costa's boot made contact with Ramos' head in the 64th minute of Wednesday's match, a good number of the Anfield faithful quite enjoyed it.

The collision happened after Ramos made a sliding challenge on the former Chelsea man, whose momentum carried him over his opponent's head.

A Nigerian man who was being deported lost his life after having an alteration with officials, where he told them, they would have to carry him like a dead man.

Bolante Alo, the Nigerian man who died after an altercation with Canada border services officers, promised he wouldn’t go quietly if ordered out of the country.

Evidence submitted by Kenzie Wingert at the first of Alo’s two detention hearings outlines how his refusal to co-operate with any potential deportation order escalated over time.

“You will have to carry me like a dead man, because I’m not going to my death,” Alo is quoted as saying in evidentiary documents submitted by Wingert — the legal counsel representing minister of public safety and emergency preparedness Ralph Goodale — on July 26 at Alo’s first detention hearing.

By that point, Alo had been detained for 48 hours. This was his first detention hearing, administered by the immigration division of the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada.

Alo died Aug. 7 after an altercation with Canada Border Services Agency officers while on a KLM airlines plane bound for Amsterdam. The plane hadn’t yet departed Calgary’s airport when the 49-year-old Alo went into medical distress; he was pronounced dead at Peter Lougheed hospital about 90 minutes later.

Wingert drew attention to two statements in the documents she submitted for Alo’s July 26 hearing. The first: “On that day (of deportation), I will be the dog on a leash, and you will have to drag me through fire. I am a dead man. I have nothing to lose.” The second: “I understand that you have concerns that I will cause an issue that will disrupt my removal. You are absolutely correct about this. I will cause a big issue and will not go.”

The body of reggae legend, Ras Kimono will lie in state at the COSON House on Thursday, August 23 before the motorcade carrying his body sets out for Asaba, capital of Delta State for the activities leading to the burial on Saturday August 25, in his home town, Onicha Olona about 20 kilometers from Asaba.

Friends and fans wishing to pay their last respect or view the body are requested to be at COSON House, 41 Oluwaleimu, Off Allen Avenue, Ikeja, at 9.00 am of Thursday, the 23rd for the lying in state which will last for about one hour only.

The event will be strictly by invitation.

Following the lying in state, a strong delegation of the COSON leadership and officials; members of the family, friends, other entertainment industry personalities and the media will accompany the body to Asaba.

The suspected kidnapper who took tramadol before attempting to kidnap a Pharmacist in Ondo State, has reportedly died following complications from a high intake of Tramadol tablets.

The suspect who was arrested in a botched kidnap attempted, had been unconscious since his arrest over the August 5 incident at a chemist in Owo. Confirming the death of the kidnapper, NAN reported that the Police Public Relations Officer for Ondo State Command, Mr. Femi Joseph, disclosed that he died at Owo General Hospital where medical personnel had battled to revive him.

“The suspect died nine days after we arrested him; we thought he would be revived so that he could help us in our investigation. Unfortunately, he died yesterday (Monday).

“This could be connected with his suspected high intake of Tramadol.

“We are using this opportunity to further educate the public, especially parents, to monitor their wards and the kind of company they keep,’’ he said.

The #EndSARS group has eventually won the fight, as a new directive from Nigeria's Acting President, Yemi Osinbajo revealed that the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) has been shut down and a reformation of Nigeria's Police Force is on the way.

For over nine months, Nigeria's social media has seen the #EndSARS movement which brings to light the several misconducts of Nigerian Police officers ranging from harassment, extortion, assault to extra-judicial killings.

The statement released by the Acting President Yemi Osinbajo's spokesperson, Laolu Akande, revealed that the IGP has been ordered to shut down the unit "with immediate effect". It reads in part;

"Following persistent complaints and reports on the activities of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) that border on allegations of human rights violations, His Excellency, Professor Yemi Osinbajo SAN, Acting-President, Federal Republic of Nigeria, has directed the Inspector General of Police to, with immediate effect, overhaul the management and activities of SARS and ensure that any unit that will emerge from the process, will be intelligence-driven and restricted to the prevention and detection of armed robbery and kidnapping, and apprehension of offenders linked to the stated offences, and nothing more."

The #EndSARS campaign Chief, Segun Awosanya who also confirmed the report, wrote;

A suspected gay lecturer identified Engineer Femi Aremu, will now be investigated by committee set up by the management of the Federal College of Agriculture aka Moore Plantation Ibadan, Oyo State, following a sexual harassment accusation leveled against him by a student.

The most recent victim and course representative of the class, Lasisi, who alleged that the suspected gay lecturer is known for sexually assaulting male students in the department and ensuring that during exams he searches only male students to enable him check out their privates.

Lasisi who accused the married lecturer of sexual harassment and extortion of male students during a live radio program at Petals FM, Ibadan, also disclosed that Engineer Femi Aremu told him that he had his way with over 5 students in the past and his cooperation would determine his success and that of his classmates.

The course representative who released a statement to back his accusation against the suspected gay lecturer, wrote;

I got o know Engineer David Aremu Oluwafemi after he was introduced to us in class as the lecturer for “Theory of Structure”, “Livestock Mechanization”, a combined course with Animal Production HND1. The first day he walked into the lecture room, he asked us to pick a course rep and my colleagues voted for me.

He told me that there are some things he wants the course rep o do for him, which includes refreshment after every lecture compulsorily and i spend N500 every week without the knowlege of my coursemates because he warned me not to disclose that information to anyone and added that he has spies amongst my coursemates so he would find out if i go against his instruction.

He later said that every month, i must subscribe for his monthly data on his two lines (MTN and Airtel). I was later invited to his house and his reason for that is that if i don’t come to his house then i am not close to him lie how a course rep should and my attitude towards him would determine if my colleagues would pass or fail and any student who failed his course in time past failed because their course reps did not cooperate with him

I then asked what to do to ensure that all 18 all my classreps would no fail. Meanwhile prior to this time, i have heard rumors of his sexcapades

A now viral audio was shared by the victim who is heard trying to stop the lecturer from perpetrating the sexual act but the lecturer asks him o be silent, insisting as he breathed heavily, that whenever he engages in such act, he doesn’t speak

Another male student confirmed the allegations saying that the lecturer hates women but is sexually attracted to men and asked the class to contribute money for an infinix pro 4 worth N84,000 at the tme of the request but now N104k

The school management has now reacted to the reports and officially released an official statement to that effect.

Former MMMG act, Emma Nyra, who was reported pregnant and said to be holing up in France with her boyfriend as they await the arrival of their child, welcomed a set of twins instead.

The songstress who shared news of her baby's arrival on Instagram, disclosed that she is so excited to begin the journey of motherhood. Emma Nyra further revealed that last year, she was over booked and over worked herself tirelessly just to be able to accomplish one of her biggest goals of moving into her dream home in Lagos, not knowing God had bigger plans for her.

Emm Nyra wrote;

I have never been so inspired and full of love as I am today. With style and full force, you’ve both entered this world and forever impacted my destiny. My career has been my top priority for the past ten years of my life, so you can imagine that I was surprised and shocked for what God had in store for me! Last year I over booked and over worked myself tirelessly just to be able to accomplish one of my biggest goals which was to move into my dream home in Lagos! I was in a place in my life where I couldn’t imagine being more content!

My parents were extremely proud of all of my accomplishments and my personal life was full of love and friends that encouraged me, since we all have similar goals and dreams. Then I received a piece of information that would change my life forever! God had much bigger plans for me! I was blessed with the news that I was pregnant with twins. A woman identified as Veronica, who got married to Mr. James Hon (now late) from Gwer West Local Government Area of Benue state at the age of 19, has been accused of sleeping with her son which the marriage produced. 

The lady is said to have gotten remarried, after she got into a love relationship with Sebastian Iorshe, a Tiv man from the area who lost his wife after two months of marriage in 1988. The marriage however ran into a big storm, when it repeatedly failed to produce a child or children to cement the relationship. Matters were not helped much with Veronica’s movement into the second marriage with her only son, Simon, now 26-years-old. Sebastian’s mother who was not happy over the couple’s inability to produce children, was said to regularly accuse Veronica of using her son’s wealth to train up her own son.

Amidst the accusations and counter-accusations created by this development, Sun reported that the couple neglected to go for a medical check up to ascertain the source of the problem. Veronica blamed her husband, addding that while she was willing, her husband was not. She said she suspects that her husband, said to be suffering from low sperm count, had, all along, known that he is unable to father a child.

Veronica who decided to test her own virility or potency by luring her son into secret lovemaking (with a stem warning not to reveal the affair to anybody). Investigation by Saturday Sun reveals that the serial lovemaking session lasted throughout the month of March and April 2018. Each time Veronica came down to Lafia with her son to deliver dry meat to restaurants around the area, she would rent a hotel room where she would, time and again, lure her son into performing sexual acts with her. Her reason for doing so she said, was to ascertain whether the fault was from her or not. At the end of April the result came out when she missed her period, signaling that she was pregnant.

But when she broke to her husband, what ordinarily would have been good news, he denied being responsible for it and suspected foul play. Stating February 1, 2018 as the last time they had sex together, he wondered how that would have resulted in pregnancy two months after. He added that if she missed her period at the end of April, then he is not responsible for it. This development led to suspicion that created a big crisis in the family. On 2nd August 2018, both of them submitted themselves to a medical test in Lafia based on the advice of a close relation. The result showed that Veronica is three months pregnant and confirmed the fact her last lovemaking with her husband February 1, couldn’t have led to that.

Another test conducted on her husband showed that he had weak and low sperm count that would make it impossible to father a child. The moment these details were released by the hospital, the angry husband, accusing her of infidelity, asked his wife to pack out of his house to go and live with the man responsible for her pregnancy.

Opening up on her own side of the story, the lady told Sun's correspondent; 

“I am not a loose woman,” she said. “I am just a woman who loves her husband very much and didn’t want to lose him. I did what I did to save my marriage even though I feel guilty about it. It was not easy but I slept with my first son from my first husband so that I could give my husband a child. But rather sustaining my marriage, the plan has scattered it and I have lost it.

“I got married to my husband eight years ago. We had no child. The worst was that I never got pregnant even for one day. When I discovered that I was no longer getting younger, I was worried as much as he and his parents were. His mother became so impatient that she started breathing down my neck as she gave me no breathing space at all. She said that I was cheating on her son, using his son’s money to maintain my son, that I’m older than his son.

“She moved in to live with us and practically made life in my matrimonial home unbearable for me. At a point, she stopped talking to me. The only time she would talk to me was when she wanted to insult me and remind me of how less a woman I was. I was confused, more so when my husband refused to submit himself to a medical test to ascertain the source of the problem, though we loved each other before the heavy pressure from his mum came. We used to have serious lovemaking sessions especially during my ovulation period all in the bid to get pregnant so that my mother-in-law could stop humiliating me. Yet, I couldn’t get pregnant. I started suspecting the problem could be from my husband when he refused to subject himself to medical test. But the insult from my mother-in-law was getting too much, too unbearable for me. She vowed to frustrate me out of her son’s home. To make things worse, she sent away my son saying that he has no business staying in the house. I had to look for a one-room apartment for him in Lafia.

The lady who asked her son to relocate to Benue State due to unforeseen circumstances, disclosed that she would do nothing else but piece together the pieces of her broken life and move on. When asked what she will do with her pregnancy, the lady who admitted she regrets her action, said she had decided to keep it because “it is blood within my blood.” 

On his own part, Sebastian who vowed never to forgive his wife, said;

“I don’t want to believe the story she is narrating to you that her son is responsible for it, though I have not suspected her or seen any sign that an outsider was dating her,” he said. “But the truth is that I’m not responsible for the pregnancy and will not allow her into my house. It is a shame for me to be associated with a mess like this. Please, I don’t want to talk about it anymore; she is no longer my wife.”

A Lagos Engineer  identified simply as Samuel, has been accused of crushing his neighbour, Taiwo Aiyegbusi and dumping his corpse in a canal.

The Computer Engineer who is also said to be on the run, was driving home along Ibari Road, Alagbado around 9Road, Alagbado around 9pm on Sunday, when he reportedly crushed the father of five who visited his church member, who lives a few metres away from the scene of the accident.

Samuel, a 42-year-old native of Ipere Ekiti, Ekiti State, was returning from a party with his three friends,  lost control of the car and veered into his path, slamming Taiwo on an electric pole. He reportedly took the deceased to a private hospital in the neighborhood, from where he was referred to the Ikeja General Hospital. They reportedly dumped his corpse in a canal at Abattoir area, after he gave up the ghost on the way to the hospital.

While landlords around the area kept mum on the incident after the Lagos Engineer reportedly returned to the scene and removed his car, it was gathered that a friend of the deceased, Segun Inuesokan threatened to report them to the police.  He told Punch's correspondent that it was a search party organised to look for Taiwo that found his corpse in the canal.

“On Sunday when the incident happened, I was not around. When I came back on Monday morning, somebody called me that Baba Ife (Taiwo) was involved in an accident. I was very shocked. I went to meet the pastor of his church and he confirmed the incident, but said Taiwo’s corpse and his killer had not been found.

“I went to the scene of the accident and met with some landlords. I threatened to report all of them if they failed to expose the killer. The landlords knew Taiwo because he grew up in that area. In the process, a resident confided in me that the car was driven by Samuel. He is a computer engineer in Ikeja.

“While I was making more enquiries from people, I learnt a corpse was dumped at a canal in Abattoir. When we got there, we discovered it was Taiwo’s body. We removed the corpse and took it to the station before we deposited it in a mortuary in Ota.

“Samuel and Taiwo grew up and lived in the same place before he (Taiwo) relocated to Malomo Street, Alagbado. Samuel lives on Odutola Estate, Alagbado. I went to his house and asked his wife where he was; she said he was not around.

“When I asked her if she was aware that her husband killed somebody, she broke into tears. I asked his father if his son told him that he killed somebody, he said yes. I asked him what steps he took, but he was dumbfounded. He said he did not know about his son’s whereabouts" he said.

The father pf the Lagos Engineer, was arrested by the police from the Alagbado Police Station after Taiwo’s family reported the incident. He was released on Tuesday with a promise that he would provide Samuel by Friday.

The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Chike Oti, who confirmed the incident, said the command had launched a manhunt for Samuel, noting that anybody found complicit in Taiwo’s death and disposal of his body would be brought to book.

An APC Candidate representing Toro federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Honourable Lawal Yahaya-Gumau, has announced that if elected into the Senate, the Nigerian constitution will be amended to make Muhammadu Buhari President for life.

The APC Candidate who alluded to the fact that former president, Olusegun Obasanjo was unable to amend the Constitution for a third term because he lacked sincerity, stated that making Buhari a President for life is the only mandate he will be going to the senate with.

Speaking at the closing of his campaign in Bauchi on Thursday, he said;

“I, Lawal-Yahaya Gumau, want you to know that the mandate that will be given to me on Saturday is to go and protect Buhari’s interest in the Senate. This is the only mandate that I will be going to the Senate with, having fulfilled every other mandate to the best of my ability while in the House of Representatives for eight years.

By God’s grace, we will amend Nigeria’s Constitution to allow Buhari to be President for the remaining years of his life. He will only cease to be President when God takes his life.

“Obasanjo tried all his best for the constitution to be amended to allow him go for a third term, but God didn’t approve of it because of its lack of sincerity. What is now needed in Nigeria is to protect Buhari’s interest and that is what we will do.”

Also speaking at the campaign, the Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum and Governor of Zamfara State, Abdul’aziz Yari who disclosed that they were in the state on the mandate of the Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, noted that it would be shameful for a candidate endorsed by Buhari to lose the election.

A 52-year-old divorced guard identified as Sesan Osinsanya, has been found dangling from a rope in the ceiling of his apartment at Celestial Church of Christ, Parish 1, Makoko, Yaba, an incident that sparked pandemonium in the area.

The divorced guard whose wife dumped after they lost their only son 11 years ago at the age of four, had remained unmarried since. The deceased who was working for the church as a driver, but was later relieved of the job after some years and redeployed to the security post, reportedly earned N15,000 salary out of which he gave his aged mother N5,000 every month.

Confirming the death of Sesan who is a native of Ijebu-Mushin, Ogun State, a relative, Jubril Sodeinde, told Punch's correspondent that he was shocked when he received a call from the church on Tuesday morning that Sesan was found dead in his apartment. According to him, the deceased was always friendly and cheerful, adding that Sesan’s mother had yet to be informed about the incident.

“We saw each other a week ago and he invited me to the church programme. He was a very nice person to be with. He would always make you lively whenever you come across him. I could not believe he could kill himself.

“He was a security guard in the church. He received a salary of N15,000. There was an agreement with the church that at the end of the month, his mother would collect N5,000. The mother is 84-year-old. We don’t know how to break the sad news to her yet.

“She would probably know at the end of the month when she goes to collect the money for the month of August. His only child died 11 years ago and his wife left him. He had been living alone since then" he said.

Lagos State Police PRO, CSP Chike Oti, who also confirmed the death of the divorced guard said policemen from the Adekunle division removed the corpse and deposited in Mainland General Hospital morgue, Yaba, for autopsy.

“On Tuesday, August 7, around 1pm, the police received a distressed call that a 52-year-old security guard at Celestial Church of Christ, Makoko Parish 1, Yaba, allegedly hanged himself to death with a rope tied to the ceiling fan anchor in his room on the church premises.

“The scene was visited and photographed by detectives. The corpse was evacuated and deposited in the morgue for autopsy. Investigation is ongoing" he said.

Rev. Dr Dan Owusu Asiamah of the Missionary Church of Christ, has stated that using money to pay tithe is not Biblical and that churches involved in collecting tithes in the form of money are flouting the laws of God.

Rev. Dr Dan Owusu Asiamah gave this reply on Hitz FM’s Daybreak Hitz, when he was asked if Jesus Christ paid tithes. 

“When you go to the Old Testament, God only demanded the Children of Israel to pay tithe. No other nation was asked to pay it" he said.

The Ghanaian Pastor also stated that when any church asks its members to pay tithe in the form of money, it is a fraudulent move.

”Paying tithe in monetary forms now is fraud" he added. 

He supported his answer with a quotation taking from the book of Deuteronomy Chapter 14 verse 24 verse 26.  which reads;

“But if that place is too distant and you have been blessed by the Lord your God and cannot carry your tithe (because the place where the Lord will choose to put his Name is so far away), 25 then exchange your tithe for silver, and take the silver with you and go to the place the Lord your God will choose. 26 Use the silver to buy whatever you like: cattle, sheep, wine or other fermented drink, or anything you wish. Then you and your household shall eat there in the presence of the Lord your God and rejoice”, he quoted

He added;

“Tithe-paying is fraud. Under no circumstance was anyone asked to pay tithe in the Bible. Tithing has to do with foodstuffs. Everything they are doing now is wrong. We speak about corruption and talk about politicians. Corruption begins in the church. The church is actively doing these things. In Deuteronomy 14:25, it tells you, a tithe isn’t about money.” .

. “There is a difference between offertory and tithing, Malachi chapter 3: 8-10 says tithing has nothing to do with money but offering does. I challenge every clergyman to open a passage that says we should pay tithe on a monthly basis. No apostle asked a Christian to give one-tenth. Now it’s more like a law that some churches even collect the tithe before they bury the dead. How do you mark those who pay tithe in church?”

The management of Lagos State Polytechnic (LASPOTECH) has denied that its security men assaulted Mrs Folake Shokoya, mother of one of its student, Bolutife Idowu, on July 11, 2018 at the institution’s Ikorodu campus.

Mrs Shokoya who alleged that she ended up with a broken lip, bruises and torn clothes, accused the polytechnic’s security unit of assaulting her when she responded to a call from Idowu, a National Diploma II student of the Hospitality Management Technology Department, that he was beaten wearing earrings to the campus.

However in a counter statement to the claims of the student's mother, LASPOTECH Deputy Registrar, Information and Public Relations, Olanrewaju Kuye, disclosed that Mrs Shokoya had attacked the security guards instead and refused all entreaties to settle the issue amicably.

The statement from the management of LASPOTECH which was made available to The Nation, reads in part; 

“On Wednesday, 11th July, 2018 at about 4:30pm, a male student; Olowu Bolutife (National Diploma II, Hospitality Management Technology Department) was apprehended by the security personnel and refused entry into the Ikorodu Campus for wearing earrings which is totally against the dress ethics of the Institution.

“Further instructions to remove the earrings if he desired to enter the campus were rebuffed by him, and he was subsequently taken to the Chief Security Officer’s (CSO) office.

“The CSO eventually warned him and was placed on security watch for seven days to further determine his “identity” on campus and was released to go thereafter.

“Exactly two hours later, a woman who was later identified as Mrs. Folake Shokoya came to the security office in company of the student. Initially, she requested to see the CSO over a message from commanding Officer 174 Battalion, Odogunyan. She however ran out of patience when the so-called student diverted her attention to the security personnel Mr. Moses Hitler that earlier seized his earrings. She queried him for the effrontery he had for seizing the son’s earrings, assaulted him, tore his clothes and slapped him severally and scattered the whole office in the Security Unit.

“All efforts to release the officer from her grip was seriously met with stiff opposition as she displayed a rare effrontery to face anyone that attempted to stop her.

“The CSO was alerted by the noise and rushed to pacify the situation. Despite the action of the CSO, she continued to exhibit her hooligan demeanor, scattering everywhere.

“As that was on, the Commanding Officer 174 Battalion called to appeal on her behalf and requested for settlement, which the CSO considered and settled the fracas she created.

“Surprisingly after the settlement, she later reported again at the Sagamu road Police Station to complain of an assault on her.

‘I wish to state here emphatically that the security personnel of the Polytechnic will not assault anyone neither will they deny entrance access to any student who is well dressed and well behaved.”

A 30-year-old mechanic, Sani Mohammed, has been arrested by the Niger State Police Command for attempted kidnap of one Stella Agbachi, of Top Medical Road, Tunga, Minna, the state capital.

The suspect who was arrested by police detectives attached to the Anti-Kidnapping Squad of the command while trying to escape, confessed to have attempted a series of abductions in different parts of the state, but did not succeed.

Northern City News gathered that the mechanic from Zumba in the Shiroro Local Government Area of the state, said he was desperate to make money to meet his personal needs. The suspect disclosed that he ventured into kidnapping, because he learnt that the crime was lucrative.

“After hearing that kidnapping is a lucrative business where one can make a lot of money, I said to myself: let me try, whether I will succeed. After all, the journey of a thousand miles starts with a step.

“I was planning to carry it out but unfortunately, I found myself in the police net,” Mohammed said.

The suspect said he was not making enough money from repairing cars hence the resort to abduction for ransom.

He also told Northern City News that since he was apprehended by the police, his parents had refused to visit him “because of the shame I have brought upon the family.”

The Niger State Police Public Relations Officer, Muhammad Abubakar who disclosed that the suspect also confessed to have attempted to steal a mobile phone belonging to the kidnap victim Agbachi, also told newsmen that “there is no hiding place for kidnappers in the state. We cannot allow kidnappers and other criminals to take over the state.”

According to the police spokesperson, the arrested kidnap suspect will be arraigned in court when investigation have been concluded by the State Police Command.

A 23-year-old housewife, Damilola Ayeni, who was said to have stabbed the 36-year-old husband in the chest, has been arrested by the Lagos State Police command.

Damilola Ayeni who got married to her husband two years ago, a union that produced two children, stabbed her husband, Olumide, to death following a disagreement on Friday at their house on Bamgbose Street, Lagos Island. The deceased who was rushed to Lagos Island General Hospital, was pronounced dead by the hospital.

The couple’s marriage was fraught with disagreements, and according to the deceased’s father, Sunday Ayeni, who reported the case to the police he had tried to intervene, but he was stopped by some family members, who warned him to back off. The Ikale, Ondo State indigene told Punch's correspondent that his son was murdered by the wife over suspicion of infidelity.

 “My son and I work at the Lagos Island General Hospital. While I work as a security guard, he worked in the pharmacy department. They got married at the Ikoyi registry.

“They had issues many times and my son reported her to me. I told them to go their separate ways, but people said I should not come between them.

“On Friday, after my son and I closed from work in the evening, he went for a party. Around that time, he called his wife on the telephone and they spoke.

“When he returned home that night, his wife waited for him at the door and stopped him from entering. She said she heard the voice of a woman in the background when they spoke on the telephone and accused him of infidelity. That was how she stabbed him in the chest and killed him. There was no struggle between them. Their two children were taken away by the wife’s mother. She has a three-month-old baby.”

However in her statement at the police station, the housewife claimed she acted in self defence, as a source noted that the Lagos State indigene claimed that her husband was the aggressor.

“The woman said the deceased called her mobile phone sometime in the evening, but she missed the call. When he came back home around 1am on Saturday, he queried her whereabouts when he called her phone. He accused her of infidelity and charged at her with a knife. She then picked the kitchen knife and stabbed him in self-defence" the source said.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Chike Oti who confirmed the incident, said that the housewife who was arrested by policemen from the Lion Building division, had reportedly been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Yaba.

An NGO founder identified as Jephath Ighodaro, who was arraigned at an Ogba Magistrate’s Court on Friday, has been remanded in the Kirikiri prison for allegedly sodomising his four-year-old twin children.

The 37-year-old NGO Founder arrest came, after his wife became suspicious after the kids fondled her breasts when they spent a weekend with her. She lodged a complaint with the police, that he sodomized their kids.

Police spokesperson, CSP Chike Oti, disclosed that the couple separated in October 2015 after which Ighodaro withdrew the children from their school in March 2016. He was accused of abusing the children between January and July 2018, as he allegedly penetrated their anuses and made them suck his manhood.

The results of medical tests from the Mirabel Medical Centre, Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja, showed that the victims were abused, and according to the Director of the Lagos State Office of the Public Defender, Mrs Adeyinka Adeyemi, the children went to toilet about three times, adding that they might have health problems.

Punch reported that the Edo State indigene who pleaded not guilty, was arraigned on Friday on two counts of sodomy.



The charge read, “That you, Jephath Ighodaro, between January 2018 (and July 2018), between 7am and 10pm on Saint Augustine Street, Orisunmbare, Lagos, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did unlawfully sexually assault one (first child) by penetrating his anus, thereby committing an offence punishable under Section 261 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, Nigeria, 2015.

“That you, Jephat Ighodaro, between January 2018 (and July 2018), between 7am and 10pm on Saint Augustine Street, Orisunmbare, Lagos, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did unlawfully sexually assault one (second child) by penetrating his anus, thereby committing an offence punishable under Section 261 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, Nigeria, 2015.”

While the police prosecutor, Inspector Samuel Ishola, who stood in for the resident prosecutor, Christopher John, applied for the remand of the defendant in prison, the defence counsel, Sunday Aniebite, applied for the bail of the defendant, saying the law presumed Ighodaro innocent until the contrary was proven.



Chief Magistrate, Mr. P.E. Nwaka who stood down the case after observing an oversight in the remand form brought by the police, later remanded Ighodaro in custody. He adjourned the case till September 3, 2018.

Kelly Hansome, who had a famous beef saga with Chocolate City star, M.I and went on to release diss tracks against the defunct Mo'hits headed by Don Jazzy and D'banj, has accused the ace producer of trying to get him arrested twice.


Kelly Hansome who penned down a birthday message to his army captain friend, disclosed that he was set up with a stolen laptop to make it look like he was a fraudster. He wrote;

This man and @areafada1 made sure I was good. I turned my cell block into a concert and all inmates chanted MAGA DON PAY and LIKE PLAY and we talked all night. You and the two Army Generals whose names I won’t mention took care of me. (RIP Sarki Kabo, he was a good man) Two times people I know were implicated in dangerous cases and everyone involved fired except the ones who mentioned my name. They didn’t commit the crime but they were innocently chilling with them guys; to mention but a few cases brother, you’re more than a friend.
